- bicyclethief, on 06/23/2009, -1/+19NYC ruins you for living in any other city. I love it here.
- AngelX, on 06/23/2009, -4/+20I can see my apartment building!
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -3/+19Still wrecks my head that the WTC isn't there. Sorry to be a downer, but it is insane.
- zombiecarlin, on 06/23/2009, -1/+15Taken from Newport/Jersey City, a great place to go for the view and easily accessable via the Path train.
- walruspanzer, on 06/23/2009, -1/+12I <3 NY
- MrSilverblood, on 06/23/2009, -2/+13Great photo!
Though you can totally tell that whoever took this started from the right, and worked their way to the left. :D - KibblesnBitts, on 06/23/2009, -1/+10Start spreading the news

- cyclopssmiley, on 06/23/2009, -1/+7It's far away compared to many of the closer buildings on the river in this picture.
I love living in New York. - Sixagon, on 06/23/2009, -1/+7I'm leaving today ...
- inevitablity, on 06/23/2009, -1/+6I want to be a part of it...
- trevordj, on 06/23/2009, -0/+5New York, New York
- chakalakasp, on 06/23/2009, -0/+4Not sure why you're downvoted -- this is accurate. Maybe the downvote was for Goldman Sachs.
- urik88, on 06/23/2009, -1/+5Beautiful. I'd like to visit NY one day.
- privacypolicy, on 06/23/2009, -0/+4These vagabond shoes,
- stuwanker, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Yeah, except you have to go to Jersey City.
- bicyclethief, on 06/23/2009, -1/+4NYC doesn't feel huge to me.
It does when you have to take the subway from Coney Island to Queens or something. But in Manhattan, it doesn't seem overwhelming since you can walk from the Village to far uptown pretty easily. - a166, on 06/23/2009, -1/+4Goldman Sachs - new world headquarters
- dani8559, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3@stuwanker it's not that bad.If you're on the west side of manhattan, the PATH is faster than taking a subway to brooklyn (and cheaper.) When you get out at newport you're right by the water, and it's a gated community with security and a mall and hotels. Nothing ghetto about Newport.
- sdotbrucato, on 06/23/2009, -1/+4Based on the resolution, about 3.5. lol
- tconnect80, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Times Square. Columbus Circle. Union Square.... Anywhere with street vendors :p
- Elranzer, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3^ Another New Yorker who hates New York. Please move or STFU.
- parabola9, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3The main bonus would be the bridges, but there are more tall buildings on the west side, which are visible in this shot but would be less so from Brooklyn. Also, I think a panorama this large would be difficult from Brooklyn because you would be a lot closer.
- stuwanker, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2Granted, Newport is not ghetto. But I'm really not impressed with the rest of the city I've seen, e.g. around Journal Square and the Grove St. PATH station.
- zenthax, on 06/24/2009, -0/+2wow, you live there!? I totally envy you
- ghatid, on 06/23/2009, -1/+3This is an amazing photo. They should make it continuous so you can imagine you're running around in a circle.
- thegallery, on 06/24/2009, -0/+2Should've put /s.
Why would anyone take that comment seriously? - Scottievm, on 06/23/2009, -1/+3@DuffyDirect
Manhattan's only 2.4 miles wide at its widest, and about 12 miles long. It's tiny... - inactive, on 06/23/2009, -2/+4One of the greatest places! Stunning Pic!
- dani8559, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1The best thing about the overpriced rents and overcrowded apartments in Hudson county is the skyline.
Pier A park half a mile up in Hoboken has equally awesome views (slightly less obstructed too), also steps from the PATH. I live in the Newport area but walk up there often just to take it all in. - inactive, on 06/24/2009, -1/+2people who love new york are usually college students using mommy and daddy's money, long islanders who pretend to live in the city, or materialists. get real. visit co-op city. visit soundview. visit marble hill. hop aboard the empire service and check out downtown syracuse, rochester, and buffalo. go compare niagra on the NY side versus the ontario side and tell me how great this place is. and then you STFU, *****.
- TriggerHappyGTR, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Yeah, too bad I'm in Australia.
- ucuntu, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1I want to go to there
- dani8559, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1You should go when they are having late night events! You just missed the all night "bang on a can" percussion marathon as part of the river to river festival. Most beautiful thing ever, being in there with the lights dimmed.
- Nollykin, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1Exactly what I thought when I saw this.
- tomtheman5, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1 are longing to stray...
- ryan850, on 06/23/2009, -2/+3aside from how horrible it makes me feel to say it, i'd have to agree with wartywarlock. Have they narrowed down a design for the buildings to go up at ground zero?
- bicyclethief, on 06/24/2009, -0/+1I would say the immensity of NYC is in the diversity, culture, and events than in its physical size.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -0/+112 miles is not tiny, not by a long shot. seriously. a regular upstate city is 1 or two miles in diameter (albany, utica, syracuse, etc.) and it's just one borough of the city! also -- when i worked at the attorney general, just waiting for and riding the elevator to the 60th floor was a commute in and of itself. my dad worked for the nycha IG in the trade towers in the 70s and he told me it used to take 20 minutes to get to his office. if you live in the village and just go to college at NYU or whatever like that guy was saying, then yeah, I suppose it might feel small, but that's just because his perspective of daily life is warped as it is for any college student.
