And #10 almost doesn't look real. Amazing.- JlmAWP, on 06/25/2008, -3/+10It's nice being able to look down from my office and see over half of these places all from one view.
Also, no bean?
http://static.flickr.com/109/262154048_0eb6027201. ...- ToRoE, on 06/25/2008, -1/+7That's only half a bean. Here is the full Bean! ;) and yes, we love the bean!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/john_rav/1808911613/- JlmAWP, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Yeah, that photo kicks the other's ass. Touche...
- sw1ft, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4#49?
- ynyfrik, on 06/26/2008, -4/+1Am I the only one who dislikes that bean? I don't see how it's artistic. It has nothing to do with Chicago, it has no historical significance or value. It would've made a lot more sense to put an onion there and have it emit some sort of onion smells.
- ToRoE, on 06/25/2008, -1/+7That's only half a bean. Here is the full Bean! ;) and yes, we love the bean!
- jetblackz4, on 06/25/2008, -1/+6Wrigley is one of the most amazing places to go if you ever visit Chicago. I make it mandatory anytime friends or relatives visit me in Chicago.
- NgrHader, on 06/25/2008, -2/+4anyone else have "Sweet Home Chicago" playing in their heads looking at the photos? Was that Ryan Dempster on the mound?
- petebot, on 06/25/2008, -4/+3I'm from Chicago, and I hate "Sweet Home Chicago".
- haydesigner, on 06/25/2008, -2/+4@petebot: "I'm from Chicago, and I hate "Sweet Home Chicago"."
If it is the Blues Brothers version, then you are not human. - mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2I agree with haydesigner.
I'm from Chicago, but I've been gone a long time. It's pretty much a given that anytime my brother and I get to visit each other, at some point we will sing and dance to that song with beers in our hands.
- NgrHader, on 06/25/2008, -2/+4anyone else have "Sweet Home Chicago" playing in their heads looking at the photos? Was that Ryan Dempster on the mound?
- cjnkns, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4Yep it's nice being here - although I do get tired of sitting in traffic :(
- petebot, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4May I suggest the train? Or a bicycle?
- simg, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5looks awresome. how soon can i get a job in chicago :) ?
- bcclist, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6tomorrow. we're not as fcked as the rest of the country yet...
- zydeco, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4Try Motorola. Lots of openings there.
- thechitowncubs, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2our gas prices seem pretty high, traffic is one of the worst in the country although public transportation works very well, taxes in cook county are getting very high...
we'll be hitting the fan soon - zydeco, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2...and that's when we'll land the 2016 Olympics. Woo!
- spiritamx79, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Makes me proud to be from Chicago. I do miss the city so very much... Moved out to Sioux Falls for my job. I almost even miss sitting on 290 in traffic =(
- basiccable, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2One of my favorite things to do when I younger was to pass by A. Finkel on Cortland in the dead of winter and just stare at the liquid metal and feel the heat of the place. It never ceased to amaze me and is the essence of Chicago to me. That and the view of downtown driving North on 90 around sunset.
- JlmAWP, on 06/25/2008, -3/+10It's nice being able to look down from my office and see over half of these places all from one view.
- 8dee, on 06/25/2008, -3/+7nice pictures...wonder what happen on the 3rd picture
- LoudMusic, on 06/25/2008, -0/+13"A Chicago lifeguard watches over a wind-whipped Lake Michigan."
The wind ... blew ... ? - CrypticSkeptic, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3never mind, wrong city. digg me down.
- LoudMusic, on 06/25/2008, -0/+13"A Chicago lifeguard watches over a wind-whipped Lake Michigan."
- mentallyinhell, on 06/25/2008, -25/+19Great pictures, but to be fair you would have to include photos of the police brutality, the school children being shot, the drugs, the mayor's mafia dealings, etc.
- moduc, on 06/25/2008, -3/+13The title is called "Spectacular Chicago". Would those you listed be spectacular to people? Maybe you. No, I believe you must misread it.
- Olfster, on 06/25/2008, -19/+4Chicago is a ***** hole covered in a fine vener.
- jerrysizzler, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5vener? weiner.
- Olfster, on 06/25/2008, -6/+1Sorry Grammar Nazi. VENEER. OK? Better? Do you understand the point now? I know it was confusing for you.
- MeatBallsack, on 06/25/2008, -2/+2nazi? knot-zee.
- jerrysizzler, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5vener? weiner.
- sigsegfalt, on 06/25/2008, -3/+14Yeah, because Chicago is the only city that has any of that stuff.
- tschau, on 06/25/2008, -2/+5It's a series of cool photos of Chicago. The concept of "fair" does not come into the equation.
- bcclist, on 06/25/2008, -1/+5Find a better city (April 1st through October 31st at least) and I'll move there tomorrow.
- ModernGeek, on 06/25/2008, -3/+2Seattle, WA
- bcclist, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1I'd rather get seasonal affect disorder...
- cbbs, on 06/25/2008, -3/+15Talk about a long and winding road
What, no laughs?- acmaurer, on 06/25/2008, -1/+11It's a bridge.
(But for your sake, hahahahaha) :-)
- acmaurer, on 06/25/2008, -1/+11It's a bridge.
- AmyVernon, on 06/25/2008, -2/+39chicago is a beautiful city. just wish the winters and summers weren't so freakin' brutal!!!
- breckinshire, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4Try a Louisiana summer. I'll give you the winter, though.
- allengeer, on 06/25/2008, -2/+5summer is not near as brutal as a louisana or houston summer.
the winter is extremely brutal. *****' metal. - bcclist, on 06/25/2008, -2/+6Summer? wtf? The 70-85 degree weather down by lake michigan sure does blow. I'll give you winter....
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4Huh?
Even Dennis Leary knows that Chicago has brutal summers. If that guy caught on, I thought it was common knowledge. - ngeloh, on 06/26/2008, -2/+3Yeah, being a Chicagoan for all my life, I can tell you our summer temperatures usually range from 85ish to 100ish. Very rarely will we experience 70 degree weather in the summer unless its in the very beginning or very end during the transition weather. We might experience temperature in the 70's during the rare cool rainy days, but for the most part it gets pretty hot. I will admit there are other places that have even more brutal summer, so it might not be THAT bad in comparison, but its no 70-85 degree weather.
- bcclist, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2Living here most of my life, I can confirm that monthly temperature averages don't lie...
http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstrav ...
If the link doesn't load, it's the average monthly temperatures in Chicago per weather.com. Yeah, it gets to 100 once in awhile but check out the averages Chicagoan.
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4Huh?
- mrshickadance9, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2They're really not that bad. I've lived here all my life and the last winter was the worst i've ever seen. it's not THAT bad.
- ngeloh, on 06/26/2008, -0/+0Yeah, as far as snow storms Chicago isn't really that bad, it's just the low temperatures and the fact it seems the winters last for 6 months.
- 4LeggedtriPod, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2I live in Indianapolis and the summers and winters are brutal here too. I think the whole midwest gets both extremes. It sucks.
- chicagospur, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2Still waiting for summer to start...
- berg009, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1What are the winters like? I'm from Canada, so I'm curious as to how it compares. I've always wanted to visit Chicago.
- Smokes, on 06/25/2008, -1/+29When did Ron Jeremy become a Chicago Cop? (Pic number 8) ;-)
- KaiSe7eN, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2lol Thanks for pointing that one out, best laugh of the day.
- airmann90, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2When did Obama become a cop? (the guy on the left).
- pierrelourens, on 06/25/2008, -2/+2Oh I get it. He's black.
That guy doesn't look anything like Obama.
- pierrelourens, on 06/25/2008, -2/+2Oh I get it. He's black.
- airmann90, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2When did Obama become a cop? (the guy on the left).

- cslawren, on 06/25/2008, -6/+21I love Chicago, and this is just one of the reasons why. Great city to live near, but as a Chicago area pilot, I have to insert my obligatory "***** Mayor Daley" for closing my airport, Meigs Field.
- luther70, on 06/25/2008, -7/+10Lots of reasons to hate Da Mayor. Closing Meigs isn't one of them.
- anillop, on 06/25/2008, -6/+9Closing Megs field was a fantastic idea. God forbid they close a private airport and make it a public park that everyone can use.
- cslawren, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5actually it was a public general aviation airport that everyone could use.
- popz41, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5"In an illegal move on March 30, 2003, Mayor Daley ordered private crews to destroy the runway in the middle of the night, bulldozing large X-shaped gouges into the runway surface.[6] The required notice was not given to the Federal Aviation Administration or the owners of airplanes tied down at the field, and as a result sixteen planes were left stranded at an airport with no operating runway, and an incoming flight was diverted." -wikipedia
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -1/+9It was owned by the City of Chicago, and if closing it was the right and proper thing to do, Mayor Daley could have waited until it was legal to demolish the field.
Enlighten yourself:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meigs_Field
- wjhIV, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6He went out in the middle of the night and dug huge x's in the middle of the runway because he couldn't get the approval. Also, they put a concert stadium out there, its not all park.
- devinmurphy, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1DUGG for the use of the word "*****"
- robk30, on 06/25/2008, -2/+8i can see that bridge from my office. love it.
- allengeer, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2HCSC?
- ColonelTribune, on 06/25/2008, -1/+8#8 is REALLY cool.
- someguyouknow, on 06/25/2008, -21/+11I love chicago. But I must say..... F*** the Cubs!!!
=)- wild, on 06/25/2008, -3/+9Don't be pissed because the better team got the sweep.
- VgRasta, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3I have a hard time pronouncing words with asterisks.
- Mastertone, on 06/25/2008, -2/+14While those are some great pics, I find a lot of the beauty in the city is away from the touristy parts of town. Rogers Park is one of the last vestiges of real people along the lake. It has yet to completely gentrify and most of the old-school houses and bungalows still stand.
Logan Square.
Pullman.
This is truly a great city to live in. I'm adding all you folks as my friend.- dannygutters, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1photo of Pullman in this set. Eugene Debs in mural!
- VeryBoredNow, on 06/25/2008, -1/+56I've been a homeless person in Chicago for 7 years now. I love it.
- jeffhansen, on 06/25/2008, -1/+19Even Lower Wacker is nice.

- kwilms, on 06/25/2008, -1/+15I love (and miss) Chicago, such a wonderful city!
- AshamedAmerican, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2I got to be an extra in a film being shot here last year and it allowed me to finally see something I've wanted to for quite some time; a lightning storm on Lake Michigan.
Truly awesome to see, I just wish I could've had my camera on me. - OffPiste, on 06/25/2008, -4/+7Thong or butt crack in pic three.
- music180, on 06/25/2008, -4/+2I'm not saying you're a dumb ass or anything but that's actually pic #4. Did Bush teach you how to count or something?
- DeadFox1, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1hahaha.. i was actually thinking.. i "guess" there could be a buttcrack there (in pic 3)
- SweatyGooch, on 06/25/2008, -1/+5That's funny, as Bush actually has quite a high IQ.
I know it's just a joke, but what is with the bitterness? Hating Bush doesn't make you 'cool' anymore, so there's no reason to keep trying to prove that you him as much as the next guy.- Flafan, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Is that why he graduated Yale with a low C average? And also is it why he scored the lowest possible score on the pilot's aptitude test when he joined the Texas Air National Guard (which he joined to avoid Vietnam duty, and later went AWOL anyway).
- JointVenture, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5Hating bush is so 2 years ago.
- OffPiste, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1No but I did have a stochastic class with Bush.
- music180, on 06/25/2008, -4/+2I'm not saying you're a dumb ass or anything but that's actually pic #4. Did Bush teach you how to count or something?
- asskicker32, on 06/25/2008, -34/+6buried as inaccurate. Chicago is not a great city.
- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4And what may I ask is a great city in your opinion?? You seem to be in the minority. I must know about this idea of a city that only you know of. NYC? L.A.? San Fran? Please oh great asskicker, share your wisdom.
- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4And what may I ask is a great city in your opinion?? You seem to be in the minority. I must know about this idea of a city that only you know of. NYC? L.A.? San Fran? Please oh great asskicker, share your wisdom.
- eyefone, on 06/25/2008, -34/+5It's a ***** city, there's tons illegals in the north side and *****, tons of gang activity as well.
- ffingers, on 06/25/2008, -1/+13***** city...are you serious?? where are you from, have you ever been to Chicago...yes I am a little biased as I live in downtown Chicago, but people from everywhere across the US consistently tell me how much they like Chicago...
and just an FYI, the things you associate with Chicago, yeah they happen in all the major cities...and why did you say north side....are you just a bitter white sox fan who's all pissy because his team got pummeled???- stoprock, on 06/25/2008, -3/+2Crime is worse in chicago than most other cities. We have pretty much exactly double the crime rate of NYC in every category and a higher crime rate than LA in every category.
- kidathinnes, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Chicago is ranked 20th in the country for murder rate. Philly, Detroit, Houston all worse.
- stoprock, on 06/25/2008, -3/+2Crime is worse in chicago than most other cities. We have pretty much exactly double the crime rate of NYC in every category and a higher crime rate than LA in every category.
- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -2/+1You obviously have never been.
- kidathinnes, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1who the ***** is digging me down? have any of you been to the north side of chicago??? where are these gangs?
- dstinnette, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2I think you have your north and south mixed up my friend.
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2That's right! Just remember the song, if you get confused:
"Well, the south side of Chicago is the baddest part of town,
and if you go down there, you better just beware
of a man named Leroy Brown."
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2That's right! Just remember the song, if you get confused:

- znewick, on 06/25/2008, -11/+6oh why did I choose Princeton over the U of C???
- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Considering that comment, I'm glad you did.
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4'Cause you're a douche?
- naugrim, on 06/25/2008, -1/+15Although I've never been there, I've now got the sudden urge to visit Chicago. Picture #16 looks incredible.
Great photos!- chix0r, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5Go! You won't regret it. :)
- JMitch42, on 06/25/2008, -5/+3083 reasons why Chicago is the greatest city in the world.
- ChiefUCF, on 06/25/2008, -11/+4That is by and far the most ridiculous statement I've ever read on Digg - and that's including the political entries.
And yes, I lived in Chicago - and I disagree.- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4It's his opinion, settle down. If THAT is the most ridiculous statement you have ever seen on Digg, you need to look around more.
- Albear89, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3My statements are far more ridiculous. =p
- ChiefUCF, on 06/25/2008, -4/+2They're allowed to have an opinion, as am I. My opinion is that Chicago is a *****. The entire city government is corrupt. The cops are corrupt. No one cares about each other. You can start riots with the stupid "West Side versus North Side versus South Side" crap. No matter how nice it looks in photos, it's a *****.
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1@Albear89,
I friended you for that statement, so it had better be true.
- Albear89, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3My statements are far more ridiculous. =p
- goody71, on 06/25/2008, -1/+0It's really too bad you left.
- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Well we have had completely different experiences of Chicago then. Of course you can have a opinion, who said you couldn't? I just think you had a bit of a over reaction to the first post. I'm sure there are many people who think Chicago is the greatest city on earth. I'm sure there are people who think *****, North Dakota is the greatest city in the world. I have been all over the world and I can assure you Chicago is not by any stretch a *****. Sure there are ***** things about it, but that comes with any city.
- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4It's his opinion, settle down. If THAT is the most ridiculous statement you have ever seen on Digg, you need to look around more.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4Uhh... Greatest city in the world between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Between January and April, you pretty much wanna be anywhere else that you can possibly be on this planet.- Hixer, on 06/25/2008, -2/+1Disagree -- there's a beautiful peace in this city right after it snows... its quiet and calm. Sure, the wind rips and its pretty cold. Thats what coats and sweaters are for. Put one on and this place is a winter wonderland.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Oh sure... I agree. It's not the winter that I think is terrible. It's the complete lack of *spring*. I love it when fresh snow falls as well. It's when that same 8-week-old snow has been molded into a disgusting snowdrift that has turned *****-black from car exhaust and is still sitting on the side of the road that really sucks.
The intensity of winter is not the problem. It's the *duration* of the winter. When it continually dips into 30 degrees in May, you have a quality of life issue. I dig it here, and I ain't leavin', but I'm just tryin' to be real...

sure, a little bit, but snow is mostly december- ngeloh, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1You are obviously not from around here. We don't even get our major snow storms until January and February.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2Yep... In 2003, it snowed on opening day and the games had to be rescheduled.
...that's BASEBALL opening day. ;-)
- Tyrghast, on 06/26/2008, -0/+2I live in Texas. I would like to live some place where it gets cold in winter.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1It's winter (as you know it) here until Memorial Day. It pretty much goes directly from winter right into summer here, and summer is phenomenal.
If that interests you at all, pack your bags. We'd love to have ya.

*hideous- briancc, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I wondered if anyone else saw that!!!!!!! lol, ruined the picture for me.
- bearcat8543, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1whats wrong with a little butt crack
- theotheragentm, on 06/25/2008, -6/+3That first picture is cool, but it sucks when you're running late for something and you're zig zagging back and forth up that stupid ramp.
- stoprock, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6I'm guessing you meant this as a joke since that bridge is in the middle of a park by the lake and not on anyone's way to anywhere other than the tennis courts.
- crowbar77, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1No, actually he works at the tennis courts.

- Hetman, on 06/25/2008, -1/+13There are only 2 buildings left and 1 is condemmed. In about 5-10 years that area is going to be one of the nicest areas in Chicago.

- l33tforlif3, on 06/25/2008, -4/+3great pics but would be nice if they were on one page...
- dstinnette, on 06/25/2008, -3/+27Living here you almost forget how gorgeous this city really is.
God, I ***** love Chicago.- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2Really? How much do you love it in February?
- junip, on 06/25/2008, -1/+6Its ***** fine in ***** february.
- allengeer, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5its ***** terrible in february. 1 degree! what does that mean 1 degree. ***** Thing Sucks!
- Hetman, on 06/25/2008, -1/+5The cold is good. It keeps away all the assholes. If chicago was warm all year round it would be to crowded.
- ChiefUCF, on 06/25/2008, -6/+2Rephrase to "keeps all the assholes there" and you'd be correct.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2Really? How much do you love it in February?
- Brassbud, on 06/25/2008, -2/+6Too many millenium park shots, that place is too new and too much a tourist trap to be considered in great pics of the city. Also, the grass covered northerly island pic makes me cry.
- brainscab, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Yeah, its new, but its already an important part of the city. (Except for the weird Spitting Face thing)
- NoPis10, on 06/25/2008, -6/+3Chicago's a great city, it's people are still a little bit too Illinoisan for me though, and that's coming from a lifelong Illinoisan.
- mecharabbit, on 06/25/2008, -3/+6You're right, they should be more Michiganian.
- tschau, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3we're working on that.

- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -3/+2Ha.... I know *exactly* what you mean. (And I'm not a lifelong Illinoisan.)
Still love this town though...
- mecharabbit, on 06/25/2008, -3/+6You're right, they should be more Michiganian.
- DuffyDirect, on 06/25/2008, -2/+4There's a lot more to see too. I went to a prom in the Field Museum and it was as extravagant as I'd imagine some posh Victorian ball in Imperial Britain. Humongous Corinthian columns, a huge atrium, dinosaur skeletons, giant staircase into it, view of the skyline out back... It was pretty spectacular (especially considering that my first prom in Albany, NY was in a stupid colonial dutch "mansion" in the middle of the sticks).
- bokep, on 06/25/2008, -2/+5Chicago is awesome. When I moved to Toronto I was hoping for it to be just as cool, but it isn't.
:(- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3I dunno... Universal health care is pretty cool.
- MeatBallsack, on 06/25/2008, -2/+2what kind of health care does the Universe need?

- Rocketbird, on 06/25/2008, -7/+4*****, stuff like this is the reason I regret having a bad breakup with a girl who was from Chicago and loved her city so much. It ruins the god damn place for me.
- displaced1, on 06/25/2008, -2/+5Taking a drive on Lake Shore Drive at night is amazing. During the day, its very distracting and dangerous because of all the people on the beach...

- jetblackz4, on 06/25/2008, -2/+9Sweet home Chicago !
Our food is pretty good too.- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4Eh... You've gotta admit... Aside from all of the typical international fare that all metropolises have (sushi, thai, mexican, chinese, etc.), encased meats make up about 90% of what we consider "local cuisine" here...
- nochilinopity, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3I'll give you 50%...hot dogs and Maxwell polishes, sure. But what about the pizza and Italian beefs?
- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2Ahh... I stand corrected... I did forget about the Italian beefs. That is most definitely good ***** indeed.
But the deep dish pizza? C'mon... When do you ever eat that stuff when you're *not* bringing tourists to Giordano's, or Pizzeria Uno/Due, etc.? - BenKenobi88, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1I get deep dish at least once a month...that's the best there is.

- rbalik, on 06/25/2008, -4/+13Greatest city in the world...
- Vvolf, on 06/25/2008, -6/+21Not putting Chicago down by any means, but you can make most of the major cities look great by selecting photos of only the nice areas.
- iminaufo, on 06/26/2008, -0/+1Yeah, but all of downtown Chicago is as awesome as those pictures make it look. ...Makes downtown Toronto look like ass.
- SafeToEat, on 06/27/2008, -0/+0they also didnt take pictures of the museums, the rest of millenium park, and not to mention some of the buildings.
- Abomonog, on 06/25/2008, -8/+4I was raised in Chicago and though I do love the city I find it a pity that many of the landmark items and activities are now gone or illegal. I remember listening to the Chicago airport (Meigs field) air chatter rebroadcast on FM radio as a kid. The airport is gone now. I remember sitting on the hull of the U505 (it is now sequestered away underground) at the Museum of Science and Industry. Most of all I remember the impromptu street concerts that would appear every summer all across the city. Now all that stuff is gone and replaced with crap like standard of living laws that make the concerts illegal, Meigs Field is gone in favor of a planned 1500 foot tall dildo and WTF is the Millennium park and what the hell did they destroy to create it? Knowing Daley they probably took down Water Tower Place to create it.
I plan to visit soon. I can only hope the old landmarks still exist. Although they can get rid of the vulture at Daley Plaza.- Hetman, on 06/25/2008, -2/+2What are you talking about there are street festivals every weekend. I have gone to one every weekend since memorial day. Anyways I am angry that they are moving the childrens musuem. Grant park is small as it is. We do not need to lose anymore park space.
- anatraj, on 06/25/2008, -1/+6Dude, we still have street festivals every weekend during the summer time. Pretty damn good time.
- junip, on 06/25/2008, -1/+5They didn't destroy anything to build Millenium Park. They just covered the rail yard that was next to / below the Art Institute.
- anillop, on 06/25/2008, -1/+11You obviously don't know what your taking about. The spire isn't even close to where megs field used to be, they still have street festivals every weekend,U505 had to be brought indoors because of corrosion from the winters, and millennium park was built over an old rail yard in the heart of the city.
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Dude, it's not good to be that bitter.
Meigs Field sucks, I'll give you that... And you didn't mention that Marshall Fields is gone...
But, U505 being indoors is a good thing, or our generation was going to be the last to remember doing anything with it, and oh, geez, I'm a displaced Chicagoan, too, and I'm weirded out that things changed in my absence, but it's still the best damn city around.
- ShempRider, on 06/25/2008, -3/+3I do miss that town. When I first moved there I took A LOT of pictures. Expensive proposition b/c I was using actual FILM at the time in a sweet Nikon SLR.
- ColonelTribune, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Which model?
- ShempRider, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Black FM2 from the early '80s. Eventually got a motor drive and some other accessories, but a nice Nikkor lens was out of the budget.
- ColonelTribune, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Which model?
- kidathinnes, on 06/25/2008, -2/+6I moved to Chicago from Cincinnati in Jan 08 and I like it more and more with every passing day.
- pjvaughan, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Wait until the Fall. Best time for life in chicago is May-November
- legalchaos, on 06/25/2008, -4/+2Chicago is the only city outside of CA I have ever been to. It was amazing, even during the 5 degree weather over spring break.
- mysedai, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Hah, I was there over Spring Break, too. For the Distant Worlds concert (5 geek points if you even know what that is), and it was damn cold. The guys I went with had never been to Chicago, and I kept telling them, "No, after a lifetime of living in the south, you cannot fathom how cold it's going to be. I had to fight with my boyfriend to pack the scarf I made him along with gloves and extra layers, but it the end they were appreciated.
- mrgreenjeans9, on 06/25/2008, -2/+6am i seeing an ass crack on image number 4?

- rryanhayes, on 06/25/2008, -2/+6Born and raised in Chicago; liked Chicago; moved away from Chicago; dont really miss Chicago....
All though I have to say, I cant think of a better place to be on St. Patty's day than Chicago.- ChiefUCF, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1Try Savannah Georgia - it's nuts.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/25/2008, -1/+1When the weather is above 25, you can't beat it. A relatively cold St. Patty's day downright sucks. No one wants to leave the bar because it's cold out, so if you're in line outside to get in somewhere, you're pretty much gonna stand there forever.
Though I must admit... St. Paddy's Day '03 was the best ever. It was 45 out and it was a raucous time at the SS parade.
- jabberwolf, on 06/25/2008, -11/+5So basically, the shortest point between 2 points is a wavy ***** line and millions of dollars?
- foofoobee, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6First of all, shortest path, not point. And boy did you miss the point.
- rkintigh, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2I bet you read Cliff's notes as well... your life has no poetry.
- treetop23, on 06/25/2008, -3/+3i took these on sunday. awesome little double rainbow over downtown.
