Asians and blacks got along great during the 70-90's until the Natasha incident occured at the Korean owned liquor store and during the riots here in L.A. (where a lot of Korean owned businesses were targeted by black and hispanic looters). A few years after these incidents, the blacks and asians started rebuilding the relationships they had. Currently the asians and blacks get along just fine. If you look at the way race is divided amongst the people in prison/county jail, blacks normally ally themselves with asians and latinos/hispanics stick with the whites. Also your point is irrelevant because the suspects are latinos. not blacks.

To say they are targeting Asian women is like saying...if you robbed people in Mexico, you're targeting Mexicans. It's just that part of town is busy, and the shops are open relatively late.

      More likely, they've figured out that Asian women pay in cash (rather than plastic) more than most women, and thus may have more money in their purses. Plus, they're often pretty passive in these sorts of situations. If they don't speak English well, they might even be hesitant to report the incident. Or maybe they just noticed the expensive purses that Asian women often like to carry. I've been married to one for 20 years and I've seen these characteristics many times - Lucy Liu isn't the typical Asian woman.

      Its just very, very wrong to make people suffer just because they tend to be meek.

When my friend was teaching english in Japan she said the principal would hand her and the teachers a stack of bills for their weekly pay. On a business trip to China I had to take cash out of at an airport ATM to buy my plane ticket because the airline would not accept any credit cards, and the travel agent was unable to pay for the ticket, I had to pay cash at the counter. You end up seeing a lot of the 1st and 2nd generation asians in the bay area who just don't have bank accounts, or are just used to using cash for everything.

He was like really, someone Tried doing this yesterday. Turned out this guy was trying to steal a purse from this one lady, LP and and a supervisor got the guys license. Well my manager told LP to contact San Jose Police and give them that information. Never know they might catch the guy....

Most of the time it's two guys on a moped and the guy on the back grabs the girls purse as they drive by. My wife's mom just warned her today to always hold her purse close when she's walking around in the city.
