  • LiberalsSuckAss, on 06/14/2009, -1/+5I have great memories of staying in these "motor hotels" as a kid. It's a little sad to see that this piece of Americana is going by the way side.

    It's a very different experience from staying in a prefabricated Howard Johnson's or Motel 6. These little mom-and-pop establishments were either excellent because of the pride taken in them, or really really crappy because of the lack thereof.

    Either way, it's a piece of history that is nice to see preserved, if only in photographic form.
