- deboerpa, on 01/14/2009, -1/+62I saw this island featured on a tv program about allergies, apparently the original settlers had some and passed them on to their descendants so all of the people on the island have their lives affected by some nasty allergies despite their remote location. It's actually pretty useful scientifically since they are pretty far away from most environmental factors that are presumed to cause mankind's recent increase in allergies.
/The More You Know - nunlover, on 01/14/2009, -1/+59from the wikipedia article:
"In 2005, the island was given a United Kingdom post code (TDCU 1ZZ) to make it easier for the residents to order goods online."

- NaturalCauzes, on 01/14/2009, -2/+31All I saw there was a bunch of Lost season 5 promotional photos. I like that new "Larry the Lobster guy" character. Apparently he sold lobsters for the dharma initiative.

The viral outbreak part is scary. Days at the very least from help with no medical supplies? - Foamator, on 01/14/2009, -1/+27Doesn't this remind anyone else of the Lost season 3 premiere, when they all run out of their houses at the beginning and it pans out to show the island?
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_hVOW2U7K4-M/STIq7RtjXvI/AAAA ... - breadfred, on 01/14/2009, -0/+24According to the article, they have 1 telephone line. So in theory they could have access. AOL anyone?
- AROZ, on 01/14/2009, -0/+24No, because you can get Digg faxed upon request. They send you print outs of the top ten stories along with comments. To digg the story or a comment up, you check it off on the paper and fax it back to them. To bury, you write an x.
