Massachusetts Lawmakers Look to Anoint 1,000 Great Places

boston.com — Can you think of 25 great places in Massachusetts? Probably. But how about 1,000? State lawmakers say it can be done, and they want to establish a commission that would anoint 1,000 attractions across Massachusetts as official "Great Places." Brainstorming has already produced some ideas.

  • alanocu, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5As a resident of Massachusetts, this is an easy one. The Governor, Deval Patrick has a mansion in the Berkshire's. And the Kennedy's have a rock star compound on Cape Cod. There are more Celibricrats with glorious views of the ocean on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket than space available for this comment.

    Walking past John Kerry's $10 million dollar mansion on Beacon Hill the other day, I couldn't help but wonder why his ancestors - some of who came over on the Mayflower - are often accused of stealing the land sitting underneath his enormous mansion, from the Indians . Wouldn't you think he'd given it back by now if that were the case? I mean, if he had a dollar for every time he was.......oh wait....
