Chinese people...not miserable...that goes against my American brain washed upbringing... - IHaveCrayons, on 02/11/2009, -0/+17Nothing wrong with the people, just something wrong with the government.
- pelican2164, on 02/11/2009, -2/+14spell lamten correctly dammit.
- groo68, on 02/11/2009, -0/+9Who said they were? The north Koreans are miserable, the people in china who don't live in cancer towns that are paid to take big cities garbage are happy.
- JCEEZ, on 02/11/2009, -3/+9I was there a few years back, it's pretty amazing. Despite all the *****-talking by many the never-left-their-home-state fellow American's points of view, China is amazing and the people are really nice.
- inactive, on 02/11/2009, -1/+6The fourth pic on that page will give me nightmares I'm sure
- yuanzhoulu, on 02/11/2009, -2/+7who gives a *****? it's the link that matters. digg is about sharing cool links, not perfecting journalism skills.
- wassim2k, on 02/11/2009, -1/+6Latern: Laterns is a small municipality in the district of Feldkirch in Vorarlberg, Austria.

- YinofYang, on 02/11/2009, -0/+4We do love our festivals in that part of the world. I've grown up with a lot of that and it really is a lot of fun. The colors are beautiful and everyone has a lot of fun. Many older cultures hold festivals throughout the year to commemorate different things. It's truly a different thing to see especially when you're not familiar with another country's culture and customs.

......Nice unique captions. - inactive, on 02/11/2009, -0/+4That must be just YOUR brain washed upbringing because I'm American and I have NEVER thought Chinese people are miserable as a generality.
- MookiBlaylock, on 02/11/2009, -0/+4That last picture is after Lo Pan showed up.
- serif69, on 02/11/2009, -0/+3Odd thought: the thumbnail for this story looks incredibly similar to the one from a few stories down about the Australian fires: http://digg.com/world_news/Hell_on_earth_view_of_t ...
- phantoap, on 02/11/2009, -1/+4Wow, surprised to see Tianjin on Digg. I lived in Tianjin for a few years... It's not a very exciting city unless you're an investor. Supposedly money is pouring in, and some predict it will be a Shanghai-like city in the not-too-distant future.
- mhmandthen, on 02/11/2009, -2/+5Most of us have no problem with Chinese people, what we do have a problem with is the extremely oppressive government of theirs.
- marmol, on 02/11/2009, -0/+3that was awesome
- arcticsoft, on 02/11/2009, -0/+3Titles spelled wrong are plaguing the front page. Before it was a man getting punched in the face while he was "Restained". Now this.

Ahh!!! kill it! kill it! - mgebers, on 02/12/2009, -0/+3This drives me nuts!
They just continue to recycle the same caption over and over. They do that on all of their photo sets.
Why not just put the 2 captions once, and leave the rest blank?
