- cyborgmexican, on 07/16/2009, -0/+21I thought the article was something about 'Windows 7' at first glance.
- Astark, on 07/16/2009, -1/+12Alexis Texas's ass has got to be in the top 10.

- brandnewx, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4New7Wonders failed terribly. Their voting model is a profit making scheme and is extremely biased. They allowed people to buy the positions to the top for their beloved wonders in their own billion-people countries. What about poor nations? What about a country with 14 million people? There is no way for true wonders in those countries would win any top place.
By the way, New7Wonders is a for-profit company, and they are not in the position of declaring any new wonders of the world. They lied to millions of voters about that. They even claimed to partner with UNESCO, which is a blatant lie. UNESCO is the only authoritative organization to declare such positions in the World Heritage List. However, it would not make sense if they did that, because evaluation of the heritages is mainly subjective. Let me quote UNESCO's statement, "There is no comparison between Mr. Weber’s mediatised campaign and the scientific and educational work resulting from the inscription of sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The list of the 7 New Wonders of the World will be the result of a private undertaking, reflecting only the opinions of those with access to the Internet and not the entire world. This initiative cannot, in any significant and sustainable manner, contribute to the preservation of sites elected by this public." - muubam, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Fun fact: only dyslexics know how to spell dyslexia!
- god2001ad, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1I had the chance to visit one of the sites they feature in this article last winter: the Puerto Princesa subterranean cave (which is in the Philippines btw, not Thailand as they list.) While it was was kind of interesting, I can't imagine it's worthy to be called one of the seven wonders of the world.
This whole "New7Wonders" thing is a baseless marketing ploy playing off the already established/unrelated "seven wonders of the world."
Also, FTA: "You, too, could be one of the estimated 1 billion people who Weber says he hopes will vote for the final seven via text message, online or by telephone."
What kind of estimate is that? Do they seriously believe that ~1/7 of the worlds population is going to vote by "text message, online or telephone?" Only about 1,500,000,000 have access to the internet... - insertAliasHere, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Wonders_of_the_ ...

- Elliuotatar, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1No Yellowstone or Yosemite? I've never been to either, but the photos of them look ten times as beautiful as that generic lake in Finland which only looks somewhat interesting from the air.
- jshhmr, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Octomom's vagina?
- joshuaer, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1why must it always be 7 wonders of X, can they not just list all the wonderful and amazing things.
- Auraness, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1I guess Mt. Everest isn't in the shortlist for being a Wonder of Nature. What a ***** joke. These guys are all in it for the money.

- TheLotusEater, on 07/16/2009, -6/+4I'm fairly certain that human beings should be number 1 on that list.
