Tim Moore, managing director of online travel magazine Toursmart, suggests that Iraq would need at least two or three years without “people still being blown up” before it could be sold as a place to visit - BohicaTwentyTwo, on 11/12/2009, -1/+14Beautiful seas? The Persian Gulf is like 87 octane.
- andyb747, on 11/12/2009, -0/+9Hammoud al-Yaqoubi,
You are out of your ***** mind.
Sincerely,
Tourism - TVarmy, on 11/12/2009, -0/+7To be honest, I would be interested in checking it out if I found out I had a terminal disease. There's a lot of interesting history, and there's so much spin about the region on the news, you get no idea what's really going on there. As a young 20-something, the risk of sudden death just seems like a bigger issue, so I'm going to wimp out and use not having any money as an excuse for not coming over.
- joejitsu, on 11/12/2009, -1/+7Just don't wander into Iran...
- jacobjohnson, on 11/12/2009, -0/+6Too bad they have such a retarded gov't, Iran really is a gorgeous country
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=760 ... - hawarkarem, on 11/12/2009, -1/+7For the record, there are flights from Munich to Sulaymania, Iraq. A beautiful city with an incredible mountainous countryside.
- mhummel, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5Come to exotic Iraq, the crown jewel of South West Asia. Meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture, and kill them. Be the first kid on your block to get a confirmed kill!
- Intrusionv2, on 11/12/2009, -1/+3This is true. I (being Kurdish) visited Sulaymania this summer via Lufthansa airlines - from Munich to Sulaymania. The flight was as professional as always expected from Lufthansa. And the landing - Let me just say that everyone should experience this at least once in their lives; it was truly incredibly when the plane was maneuvering through the mountains on both my sides INCREDIBLY CLOSE, as the airport is between two mountains. It was also interesting because the flight attendants were sitting in the seats talking to the passengers. At one point I was in a deep conversation with one of them about what Obama will bring. Interesting stuff.
- BabyWookie, on 11/12/2009, -0/+27% chance of rusty knife decapitation between 6 pm and midnight.
- shedtroll, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2It was a top holiday destination in the 30's. It's full of history being the location of Mesopotamia.
- TVarmy, on 11/12/2009, -1/+3Bill Clinton would rescue you. No biggie, and you get to meet a former American president. Bill Clinton's like America's sitcom dad, so that's a big plus.
- Kungfumantis239, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2"queue lame excuse for having to go to the parents for the holidays"
- Cracken, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1And 120 degrees with a chance for a major sandstorm...

- kartman2001, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1There are actually some beautiful places from Iraq. It's real nice along parts of the Euphrates where the palm trees grow.
- StripeyMagee, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1You could always seek out some DU.
- mitikomon, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1thank you for introducing this thread. very wonderful picture specially in the first page.
- tacojohn48, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1Do we even have that in the US?
- ElBearde, on 11/12/2009, -4/+4Maybe I'll think about it once Exxon finally thinks it's safe enough to start drilling. But what would there be to visit? The American invasion destroyed both the National Museum and Library, so there really isn't much left to see in Iraq.
It's amazing how some thugs in Washington destroyed 7000 years of Mesopotamian history. - alyssa0105, on 11/12/2009, -0/+0um, the sunset there is indeed beautiful ,( i have a friend there, and he had sent some photos to me) but to visit there is another thing! i prefer to view it in the distance!
- solecize, on 11/12/2009, -1/+1I hear the scrange is great in Iraq
- gsfgf, on 11/12/2009, -2/+1Hmm... one of my buddies is stationed over there. He says it smells bad. Not really the best endorsement.
- pintomp3, on 11/12/2009, -4/+3Why not? It's full of freedom and the Iraqis thank Americas for liberating them by throwing flowers at their feet.
