- tonaros, on 07/22/2008, -22/+81Soon to be bombed to pieces by the United States of Aggression.
- Neo189, on 07/22/2008, -8/+53Iran has a lot of amazing cultural artifacts. It'd be a pity to have them bombed into the ground by the U.S. Government.
- norman619, on 07/22/2008, -4/+40Let's hope no fanatics unleash the WMD known as termites on them.
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -3/+29Persian food rocks.
- jmask5, on 07/22/2008, -5/+28Nice buildings. The Iranians are good people it's a shame that no one will ever appreciate them.
- vjk2005, on 07/22/2008, -1/+23I digg wood. This is very cool, especially the shrine's interior.
- shiidii, on 07/22/2008, -1/+21Just a tiny sample of all the beautiful and historical things about Iran. It's a shame that most westerners have no idea what the people are like, what the country looks like, they can only think about Bombs and Iran's crazy leader.
- Rammy912, on 07/22/2008, -0/+19I agree. Iran's art and culture has always been world renowned. It's also a pity that the mullahs have been driving it into the ground for the past 29 years.
- thepeacemaker, on 07/22/2008, -2/+18The Iranian air strike (1980) occurred during the war between Iran and Iraq which btw was initiated by Iraq and supported by the US.

- superfusion, on 07/22/2008, -5/+16Ahhh yes, it's a good thing there are 100,000 dead nuclear facilities and not civilians in Iraq.
- digggggggggg, on 07/22/2008, -5/+14Well, they hate us for our freedom.
No seriously, they probably hate us for all the crap that we did to them over the course of the past half century.

and so on. - bicyclethief, on 07/22/2008, -5/+12That village is probably creepy as hell come nightfall.
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -3/+9This aside, Iran has some of the richest culture in the world, and they keep standing back despite the US provoking them with terrorist attacks (yes, they're through the US). Yet the Nazi Bush wants them bombed.!!!!
- snotrokit, on 07/22/2008, -5/+10Well sir, it LOOKED like a nuclear facility, so we bombed it.
- dkapuchino, on 07/22/2008, -1/+6Iran is a huge country. It can't be destroyed by a single nuke.
- Rammy912, on 07/22/2008, -2/+7Where do you think all that wood came from?
- Dibou, on 07/22/2008, -29/+33Look, a building made out of WOOD!
What will they think of next? - jonlarge, on 07/22/2008, -4/+8no deserts, missiles, or terrorists?
buried for inaccuracy - waydee, on 07/23/2008, -0/+4Iran is a beautiful country full of cultural treasures, Tehran is possibly one of the prettiest cities I've ever seen and a world away from the sandy deserted ***** that a lot of people seem to think it is.
Also, Persian women are great. - tramblings, on 07/22/2008, -1/+5Iranians are evil, don't you know? /sarcasm
- banderwocky, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Awesome designs and original architecture.
- dkapuchino, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4You'd be suprised at how advanced Iranian engineers can be.
- idavidtang, on 07/22/2008, -4/+7Persian girls rocks.
- dkapuchino, on 07/22/2008, -2/+5They Iranian people are indeed people to be appreciated. Same as the Burmese people. Sadly, they are oppresed by dictatorships.
(this is where you come in and say yeah, just like American is oppressed by bush, not really understanding how privlidged you are to be able to marry freely, vote for your president every for years, blog against the government and still live to tell about it). - waydee, on 07/23/2008, -2/+5***** Israel.
- inactive, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4Hell Yeah!
If you like this, you should read this month's National Geographic cover story about all the cool stuff Iran has built in the past... it really makes you appreciate that:
A. Iran is not a terrorist supporting nation,
B. they are Persians, not Arabs.
C. Everyone who has invaded Iran over the years becomes IRANIAN! seriously, look at Alexander the Great.
or just read the graphic novel Persopolis, its a light read and really humanizes the Iranian people (like our media failed to do with the Iraqis) - thecoolestguy, on 07/22/2008, -2/+5That doesn't make any sense dkapuchino, Iran was attacked by Iraq, so it had a justification for attacking its nuclear facility. The US has not been attacked or threatened by Iran therefore there is no justification for an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.
The sanctions should be lifted and American oil companies should be drilling its oil. - dkapuchino, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Last I remember, Argentina still has interpol warrants against Iranian officials for their involvements in bombings in Argentina.

I guess they thought having two towers would look more threatening and impressive. - shiidii, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2Well, I know that here in Australia people know squat about Iran. How about the rest of the west?
- randomsniper, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Then, when they catch up to the US they can use plastic and watch them start to fall apart 2 months after they're built.
- kephas, on 07/23/2008, -1/+3The US is not Israel. Let Israel deal with their own problems.
- Dibou, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Digg can have its funny moments. It'd be a pity to have it washed away by left-wing comments.
- crashlock, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2It's the set from the new Robinson Crusoe movie.
- dkapuchino, on 07/22/2008, -5/+7Let's only hope the Iranians are smart enough to place their nuclear facilities away from their cultural gems.
- PaganHeathen, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2I am board so am going out on a limb: but I think they should branch out into other materials, fir many reasons. Yew know I'm right!
- gnixon70, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1anyway, the point is that it is an article about a village made out of wood and nothing to do with American foreign policies. yet it took till all of the third comment to make it one.
- bicyclethief, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1What does K7 have to do with this?
- inactive, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1Well it is a good thing we have more than one then huh?
BTW sorry everyone, I can't help but troll every once in a while :( - Rammy912, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1@ mosgjig:
Again, I agree!
And then they did it again... overthrew the king and put the mullahs in power. - waydee, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2You confuse criticism with anti-Americanism.
- ndseifi, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I don't think people are suggesting that we should forget that the Iranian government is comprised of a bunch of terrible *****, just because we've been exposed to an example of beautiful architecture from Iran.
Iran has thousands of years experience of other countries interfering with her affairs, so it is not something the Iranian people are unfamiliar with. The trouble is, when people start to talk about how she should function or be governed, the Iranian people see that as an attack on them and as such the two elements of the country become indistinct. It is hard to criticise a government without attacking its people, irrespective of whether it is an illegitimate regime or the people themselves seek to be liberated. - tonaros, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1I'm proud to be an American, but I'm not proud of what we've been up to lately.
- thecoolestguy, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1---------Israel has been both threatened verbally, and attacked by Iranian trained terrorists carrying Iranian weaponry.------------
This is horsesht. - Dibou, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1"Iran is not a terrorist supporting nation".
Iran is a terrorist nation. Their government sends out money and arms to terrorists throughout the world.
Their leader is psychotic. - koldmilk, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1wow that amazing
