I drive through this everyday... and there is one about every 5 miles.... Los Angeles, CA - Sornos, on 12/10/2008, -7/+50http://xkcd.com/253/
You knew this was coming. - farfromhere, on 12/10/2008, -1/+19Ever try to make decent roads and highways in sim city? That *****'s hard.
- snoobies, on 12/10/2008, -2/+19Ok, who went crazy on SIMS?
- schranky54, on 12/10/2008, -1/+17Oh I've gone cross-eyed...
- Myztry, on 12/10/2008, -0/+15I blame it all on engineers growing up with slotcar sets.
I'm just surprised there is no stunt loops thrown in for good measure. - tomato1324, on 12/10/2008, -0/+13it takes a ***** genius to design this stuff
- inactive, on 12/10/2008, -1/+13curiously I am aroused.
- Probatus, on 12/09/2008, -0/+11That's a lot of pavement. I don't live near something like this. Can anyone with a GPS verify how accurate or inaccurate the display is?
- sonar1, on 12/10/2008, -0/+11and yet they make sense.
- shadowblade989, on 12/10/2008, -0/+11Ahh xkcd.
I didn't even have to click the link to get your reference.
Is that good or bad? - timothycrash01, on 12/10/2008, -0/+10And you know he's sitting in a small dark room somewhere laughing to himself.
- intricate, on 12/10/2008, -0/+9The majority of the pictures on there are from countries outside America.
- pardonmedoug, on 12/10/2008, -0/+8What's with the article summary: "Western" drivers?
- Aaryn015, on 12/10/2008, -5/+13Excuse me for not searching through 9-18 month old archives for something interesting.
I do wonder how much interesting stuff is going on for you for you to take the time to find and post the exact times other submissions were posted though. - superflyingfly, on 12/10/2008, -0/+8To me, it only seems confusing from an aerial point of view.
Looking at each road individually give 3 ways to go at most, and from there it's just follow the road and merge. - dolemite5005, on 12/10/2008, -0/+7I was thinking the exact same thing when I read this. An aerial view looks like a mess but in reality you pretty much go straight or exit. Not too difficult people.
- spongebue, on 12/10/2008, -4/+11So therefore, every single person on digg that is interested in this has already seen it?
- ShoeSh1ne, on 12/10/2008, -0/+7I've driven through that one in Atlanta many times... they aren't as confusing as this is making them out to be.
Find sign, get under sign, follow road. - inactive, on 12/10/2008, -0/+6You like Sim City just a little too much...
- shadowblade989, on 12/10/2008, -2/+8You're a master of karate and friendship, for everyone.
Dayman, oohAAHaaah, fighter of the night man, oohAAhaahh, champion of the sun
Not gonna lie, this is about the only situation I'd do that in.
Go ahead and bury me too, folks. - aceallways, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5wow that was random
- Scalpels, on 12/10/2008, -1/+6My god. Its full of cars.
- clarionhaze, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5I enjoy your commentary.
- thinboyslim, on 12/10/2008, -3/+8Had to do my driving test around the "Magic Roundabout". FAIL.
- WhoaABlueCar, on 12/10/2008, -1/+6this is old like jane austen
- Barney255, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5I don't care.
- inactive, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5Are you a highway engineer? I'm sure they considered it and went with what they did for various reasons.
- yosserhughes, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5If, as a driver, you're confused by these intersections, perhaps the bus is right for you.
- psykiv, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=25.925474,- ...
That's probably the most complicated one in Miami. The Golden Glades interchange.
A close second is probably this one
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=25.788299,- ... - andrespereyda, on 12/10/2008, -1/+6old as heck period
- brainflakes, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5They may look hard from above but when you're driving their actually _very easy_ from the road. You just follow the lane signposted for your destination and the lanes guide you around the various bends. It's not hard people!
- inactive, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5A well-developed road system makes you lose hope in humanity? Huh?
Edit: On inspection of your other idiotic comments, it's pretty obvious you're a troll (and not even a very entertaining one at that). - carf4ce, on 12/10/2008, -1/+5and, stage freeze.
don't say stage freeze. just do it... - sonar1, on 12/10/2008, -1/+5small town folk will bury you and call you insane
- KISSOLOGY, on 02/16/2009, -0/+4Mmm... Spaghetti....
- Hollow5, on 12/10/2008, -0/+4I have also enjoyed this web page as much.
- fxu1989, on 12/10/2008, -0/+4If you focus just on one road, follow it and you'll see it makes sense.
People say it's a ***** cus they look at the picture as a whole. - dajuggernaut, on 12/10/2008, -0/+4two words: "Cluster *****"
- burkewendt, on 12/10/2008, -0/+4As much as i love Sunny, gotta digg you down
- burkewendt, on 12/10/2008, -2/+6eh, screw it. i ended up digging you up.
You gotta pay the troll toll to get into this boys soul - aydub, on 12/10/2008, -0/+4The Tom Moreland Interchange in Atlanta isn't too bad from the ground. The odd thing is that the heat from that thing has an effect on the weather around it. Sometimes it can be raining on one side and dry on the other. This was from someone that lives really near it.
- brainflakes, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3cloverleaf junctions take up a lot more space
- JesusHimself, on 12/10/2008, -1/+4http://digg.com/comedy/Dancing_baby_9
- poopdigger, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3Just a cloverleaf is pretty simple even, when you start adding on-ramps and off-ramps for each highway, you get these intersections
- Benjigga, on 12/10/2008, -1/+4These aren't intersections. These are over passes.
- larsonc, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3What, no Marquette Interchange in Milwaukee, WI? It was just rebuilt, and now has 7 levels of overpasses, including one underground tunnel.
http://www.mchange.org/page.jsp?&key=tni - xsecretfiles, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3I actually understand that first one, I live here in Atlanta GA. I know where all those highways lead to ; though I usually drive straight in the middle *85
Looks confusing, but it really isn't - jessehadden, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3People think I'm strange, because I have no driver's license, and no desire for one. I live in the city and use public transportation & taxis. Articles like this make me think that the people who drive are strange. Maybe I'm weird, but I never want to deal with navigating two tons of machinery through such high-speed mazes of other oncoming two-ton machines.
