- irishpolyglot, on 10/20/2008, -1/+10Thanks for digging my video!! It's good to know that as well as what you see there, I stuff some plastic bags into my pockets so that after going through the annoyance of emptying everything at security (and getting grumbles from people behind me), I just throw them into the bags instead of packing them again ;) And NO, nobody has ever stopped me do this. Airport security don't care about *how much* you have, just *what* you have, and as you're getting on the plane they just think you went crazy with duty free shopping. Amazing little loophole in the system - hopefully spreading the video won't make the airports wise to my antics :P
- davidmiller72, on 10/20/2008, -1/+9Hilarious man, but straight up good info. the towel could come off mid-flight and be used as an extra pillow / blanket. dugg.
- HuoXin, on 10/20/2008, -1/+7cute vid! i have a feeling we'll be seeing more people rocking cargo pants at the airport now.
- deva14, on 10/20/2008, -1/+5Good advice in here - I hadn't thought of the pockets because of the hassle of emptying them, but it makes sense. One thing, though, if the idea is to save yourself from paying checked baggage fees - buying all my bathroom stuff once I arrive would cost far more than the fee! I've never managed to travel without a checked bag since they brought in the liquid rule... and that's not likely to change any time soon. Sigh.
- Jabrams2, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4Great video. Very quality submission. Thanks
- ianmack, on 10/20/2008, -2/+5Very cool - dugg for the Superman theme song.
- HuskyPuzzle, on 10/20/2008, -1/+4Superman theme was awesome, but these are great tips. I got gouged with extra luggage charges last weekend. The added fees are getting out of control with most airlines.
- b9gh47q, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3Dugg for Superman.
- Tiak, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3Reminds me of the movie Eurotrip...
- irishpolyglot, on 10/20/2008, -0/+3Yes, sadly that is the catch! But the way I get around it is to make sure that if I have expensive bathroom items, is to buy the less-than 100ml containers (such as some colognes etc). For everything else, you learn to buy the cheapest shampoos etc. in small shops not in touristy areas, once you arrive. Since I travel a LOT, all of these things I do are necessary, but I know where you're coming from ;)
- geotraveler, on 10/20/2008, -0/+3Fun yet practical video on packing
- kdeez, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2Oh ya, it reminds me of this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6tlw-oPDBM - inactive, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2I was watching videos like this on youtube today and your packing tips put all those others to shame! I'm catching a flight to Hawaii next week and will give your tips a shot! Thanks bro!
- irishpolyglot, on 10/20/2008, -0/+2The towel was a key part of the process - remember what the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy said about towels? ;)
- emazur, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2This tip depends on the airline and their restrictions of course. Delta has a 40 lb limit for the carry-on, and 50 lb per suitcase, and also you can bring a personal item onboard such as a purse, laptop, or waist-pouch. In Delta's case, the first suitcase is free for domestic, for international 2 are free. But going over the weight limit or number of suitcases gets you a hefty fee. I bought a large waistpouch and stuff it pretty full (usually portable dvd player, gameboy advance, book, and a few small things), and yes stuffing things in your jacket pockets and pants pockets works well- I have a certain pair of pants I always wear when flying with 2 upper leg and 2 lower leg plus back pockets. Delta is almost always the cheapest for me- I just paid $140 for a ticket to OR from the SE US, even with the $50 fee I'll have to pay during checkin for the 2nd checked suitcase, it's still a good deal.
- HolmesSPH, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2I want to find out how to pack a small child in there.. Any tips?
- MCA2142, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2another packing tip for a smooth trip:
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli - kdeez, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2I've generally done this naturally, but not to that level or scale... now if only I could figure out how to do that with my wife and son so we don't have a mountain of luggage. How about an updated video for us family men and women? ;-)
- baileydoo, on 10/20/2008, -0/+1Great video! Love that cape action...
- jdetritus, on 10/20/2008, -1/+2This helps because i really suck at packing. way to wear most of it
- inactive, on 10/21/2008, -1/+2Dumbest advice ever. Don't do that, you're gonna hate yourself for doing it--you can thank me later.
- aidenw, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1Great video. Quite informative and very entertaining I would say, although not all the tricks shown are practical for everyone. The Superman part is the best. I had a good laugh!
- vicantre, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1Super Benny!!! ROTFL
- exlemor, on 11/17/2008, -0/+0Yep, Superman theme and costume resemblance definitely was fun... Keep the tips coming...
- Trekhawk, on 10/20/2008, -1/+1Easy. Especially if your entire wardrobe consists of banana-hammocks.
- helbi, on 10/20/2008, -1/+1Dear Benny,
