- Soave, on 12/27/2008, -4/+42This isn't that gorgeous, especially for a California sunset.
If I may, a couple of my own, just not from Christmas:

Oh by the way have you guys seen my flickr?!
here's the link: www.*****.com - kaiyen, on 12/27/2008, -1/+13I agree with Soave - with all due respect for the photographer, that's not an especially stunning sunset. Perhaps someone is over-digging...
- bbardlbradd, on 12/27/2008, -1/+11I drove from LA to San Francisco and back this christmas, the sky looked better than that all day. Perfect day to catch the sunset.
- godfly, on 12/27/2008, -2/+12ok. i'm a big fan of sunsets but what's so amazing about this one to deserve the front page?
- ATH025, on 12/27/2008, -5/+14Not quite...
- inactive, on 12/27/2008, -2/+9I presume you were on the 101. If it was the 5 then you are full of *****.
- popwesa, on 12/27/2008, -3/+9I've taken better landscapes on my piece of ***** camera phone. Who the ***** diggs this *****?
- BlueCadenza, on 12/27/2008, -1/+5Or you can tile it like the nubs at my office that insist on plastering the "My Documents/Sample Pictures/Sunset.jpg" image 6 and 2/3 times on their 1280 x 1024 monitors.
- allaboutdatiki, on 12/26/2008, -8/+12Never miss an opportunity to catch a sunset.
- wildjohn, on 12/27/2008, -1/+5Ditto on this being not a great photo. Perhaps come up with some better ideas and don't freep the digg.
- roastedbagel, on 12/26/2008, -21/+24Wow, you've (the submitter, BamaFun) Dugg 95,227 stories in the 1 1/2 year you've been on digg. And I'm sure of course you've genuinely read and enjoyed the content of all 95k stories, right?
Thanks for helping Digg become a popularity fest by blindly digging all 430 of your friends stories. - deademery, on 12/27/2008, -1/+4Why do i feel like crappy pictures always get dugg so much?
- trebol, on 12/27/2008, -0/+3Over 400 Diggs?? Come on
1. There are spots all over the camera's sensor (all over the sky).
2. It's crooked.
3. It's distorted.
4. There's a bunch of noise on the beach.
5. It's boring with no interesting color or character.
6. My grandma takes better sunset pictures with her disposable camera and her thumb half over the lens. - AuburnTigers, on 12/27/2008, -1/+4haha the I5 gives you a bunch of hills and curves with the occasional wildfire and blown tire for you to swerve around at 2 am.
- DesertFlyer, on 12/27/2008, -1/+4According to the description, it's at Half Moon Bay. That's in northern California...
- ElGanyan, on 12/27/2008, -3/+5They're all a bit "meh," including the original poster's, to be honest.
- Hayes, on 12/27/2008, -1/+3California always has beautiful sunsets.
One of my favorites http://www.jesse365.com/2008/12/19/fire-sunset/ - inactive, on 12/27/2008, -2/+4California is a geographically diverse state; there are places where it snows.
Half Moon Bay is slightly south of San Francisco for those who are curious. - Octophetus, on 12/27/2008, -0/+2Is this a joke? :\
- themastersb, on 12/27/2008, -1/+3This picture reminds me of the candle I got this xmas... what a crappy candle...
- topgigmedia, on 12/27/2008, -1/+3What you need, when you need it
- bbardlbradd, on 12/27/2008, -0/+2Well, if you didn't count the flash floods and over 9000 8' tall tumble weeds rolling onto the highway @ 120mph, it was a beautiful day. Especially for being I5.
Yeah, and I would still be driving if I took the 101. - geekinhiding, on 12/27/2008, -1/+3Half Moon Bay is so beautiful. I can't wait to go back on the next AIG retreat...
- Skywise, on 12/27/2008, -1/+3Or a sunrise.
- Markb3489, on 12/28/2008, -0/+1Nice sunset, nothing great
<insert links to own sunset photos here> - adlep, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2Somebody is conducting an experiment about how stupid the Digg sheep community is...
There is nothing special about this particular image. A monkey could make such a photo. Shame on all people who decided to Digg this piece of crap...
Edit: Now when I think of it, my ass looks better than this... - inactive, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2Not impressed. That's nothing but your typical beach sunset, and since I grew up on a island, it's nothing special.
- InfiniteNothing, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2Actually, it's been rainy lately. The visibility has been amazing. It's like HD life. The stars are really bright too.
- malevolence2002, on 12/27/2008, -0/+1Yeah saw it from atop runyan, was a beautiful way to finish the day
- oenoneablaze, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2the pink sky is from the pollution. i thought it was weird when i first moved there, but it is what it is.
- Testiculese, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2So was I, this is only 1/3 of my screen.
- tbob19, on 12/27/2008, -2/+3Probably was nice in person but the photo is not so good.
Here are a couple I took (including a few in california):

http://www.flickr.com/photos/longboardfish/2148871 ...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/longboardfish/2148025 ...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/longboardfish/1662460 ... - GordonFree, on 12/26/2008, -5/+6Saw it from the mountains in LA.
Looked even better, with a pink-red sky over the snow covered pine trees and the city lights below :)
Left my canon SLR in Europe though :/ Didn't bring it. - dirtymcgrit, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2slow news day.
- radsdigger, on 12/27/2008, -4/+5That's mighty pretty. And people wonder why everyone wants to go to California.... shoo....
- mehan, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2La Jolla != Sunset Cliffs
both are gorgeous, though. - illDecree, on 12/27/2008, -0/+1almost! too bad the state of cali is going belly up, we wont be getting too many more of these!
- jerbaker, on 12/27/2008, -3/+4Once they get here and see the sea of Mexicans and the graffiti they leave on every possible surface along with the miles of traffic they usually get over the sunsets.
- joits, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2you haven't been searching hard enough as there are about a thousand other photos on flickr that are way better than this one... how this ends up on the front page of digg is beyond me!
- derrickgossman, on 12/27/2008, -3/+4I've seen better. Not everything in CA is the "best".
- ryanrk, on 12/27/2008, -2/+3It is pretty neat.
- JB88, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2Unnecessary.
- roastedbagel, on 12/27/2008, -2/+3Thank you, thats what I'm trying to say up above. The submitter simply shouted this to their 400+ friends, gaming the damn system. This sunset ***** sucks to be quite honest.
- TravelChannel, on 12/28/2008, -0/+1Beautiful
- orthodoxDrew, on 12/27/2008, -0/+1:(
- spinfreak, on 12/28/2008, -0/+1Only in California
- crit1caL, on 01/08/2009, -0/+0Oh wow, let's date.
- mmmKile, on 12/27/2008, -1/+1Nice work, really love the last one
