These are being operated by TSA employees. They're not known for being the most intelligent, ethical or well trained government goons in history. What is there to stop them from saving the next naked scan of a celebrity who goes through their airport and posting it on the internet? Or the physically disabled? Or random unlucky bastards they thought looked funny?

Upon being let out of the machine, the guy being scanned asked the TSA guy if he could at least have a cigarette or something. TSA dude wasn't amused. :-P

they can see your pubes, how long your dick is, how bad your herpes outbreak is, etc. they are really playing down how well these things work. they can literally pick the pubes off you if they wanted.

They randomly selected someone out of the line to hop through, out of about 20 people going through security at the time. Hurray for useless security measures. I almost feel like this is more for the entertainment of TSA employees than for an actual security purpose. And don't think you can throw out the qualifier "privately owned" and make it OK. First, as an above poster said, most US airports are not privately owned. Second, if you come into my privately owned house does that give me the right to strip search you as a security measure? Just because I own the house does not give me the justification to violate your civil rights. - 1fastdak, on 04/02/2009, -0/+6Just an fyi, I was going through DTE last year and they had one full body scanner and 6 or 7 regular lanes. They directed my gf to the full body and the dude watching the screen just looked at her and smiled right after she walked through. I was pretty pissed but heaven forbid I cause a scene at an airport. (they would probably shoot me dead) So anyway I just sat and watched them from the inside for 10 minutes and Ill be damned if they didnt direct EVERY woman under 40 through the full body scanner. Talk about having your rights violated and not being able to do ***** about it.
