Do the submitters really have THAT little of an understanding of simply physics, thermodynamics, etc? It was take a flash freeze far more unrealistic than the one in Day After Tomorrow for a wave to freeze mid-break.

This way you get to "impress" uninitiated web surfers and add web traffic to your depleted site by re-posting to digg a story that was found by someone else. Then not mentioning the original source and perpetuating the misinformation would somehow make you popular.

  • macwac, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1These cliffs of ice happen when the ice expands and pushes against each other like tectonic plates.. under a lot of pressure and a long time the ice gets pushed up into these huge mountain/cliffs of ice. You see it happen a lot on rivers/lakes/oceans in the northern countries during very cold conditions.. but on a much smaller scale.
