- dragko, on 01/09/2008, -15/+10Nice! I have never been there and I am surprised it is so small.
- alkaline213, on 01/09/2008, -1/+5You can't see all of Times Square from that one view....obviously.
- AMACTASTIC, on 01/09/2008, -6/+72WOW. Only one starbucks?
Dugg for being able to look straight up.- finnodave, on 01/09/2008, -0/+6where is his feets?!
- Anonymously, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2There's only one Starbucks in that _shot_, but there's a bigger Starbucks on 41st and Broadway (two blocks south of this panorama). Then another on 42nd and 6th, and another between 7th and 8th on 42nd.
That's just within a couple blocks of the picture.- duser4, on 01/09/2008, -0/+3Ok let me generalize: There is at least one starbucks in every block in manhattan. I think the whole starbucks situation is actually worse than california. Every other block in queens has a starbucks. Finally, every other store in NYC is McDonalds.
- tyywebb, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2Don't look up in NYC noobz!

- EpidemiK, on 01/09/2008, -13/+3Heroes sucks.
- 7012, on 01/09/2008, -11/+15In New York, the general public can cross the street at near light speed. Taxi cabs are also lightning fast.
- jendeau, on 01/09/2008, -1/+0What the hell cabs do you get in? Traffic in Manhattan in nuts. The street crossing is true though. No fear.
- passedoutghost, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Why do you say taxi cabs? It's like saying cat feline...
- ShustOne, on 01/09/2008, -11/+7Wow, this is amazing. Very cool picture. I love the Dr. Seuss inspired steam too.
- Vetteguy182, on 01/09/2008, -6/+12Am I weird? the very first think I noticed was the trails from a jet in the sky...360 panoramas are THAT much fun!
- AlxRymnd914, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1me too lmao....
- eschreib, on 01/09/2008, -15/+8Buried for the annoying sirens......
- r3negadeX, on 08/11/2008, -3/+8Um, have you ever been to NYC? There's *always* random-ass sirens wherever you go
- hamish, on 01/09/2008, -26/+11***** quicktime.
- nmcglennon, on 01/09/2008, -4/+32Ah the NYC symphony of police car sirens and taxi cab horns... so soothing.
- fishbert, on 01/09/2008, -3/+4Yeah, I could've done without the sounds.
- z0l0pht, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1You've obviously never been
- fishbert, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1... to websites designed in the early 90s? Yes, I have been. Websites should not come with a soundtrack.
- fishbert, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1.
- z0l0pht, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1You've obviously never been

- rgaino, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2Imagine when First Person Shooters get this good.
- nick2, on 01/09/2008, -2/+4Where is the Toys R Us?!
- tMANwi, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2I think it's down to the right a little bit. But it's been awhile since I have been in the square
- Anonymously, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2If, when you click the link, you see the NYPD car and the "Times Square" street sign, you are facing West on 43rd St. The shot was taken at 43rd and Broadway. If you rotate 90 degrees to the right, facing the Starbucks and the two bright lights above the street, you are facing north. The Toys R Us is at 44th and Broadway, so the ABC Studio (where the two lights are) is blocking the view.
- viksra, on 01/09/2008, -4/+10I LOVE NEW YORK!
- GoldenDragon, on 01/09/2008, -3/+19dugg, for NYC

- sfacets, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2They?
- DirkBelig, on 01/09/2008, -2/+31Amazing how there is no hint as to how the camera was suspended. Dugg.
- Mr.Scientist, on 01/09/2008, -2/+11The camera is on a tripod which has been clone-stamped out of the picture. You can see pieces of tarmac repeated where the tripod would be.
- ChefEspeff, on 01/09/2008, -0/+7If you center the recruiting station, there's a funny face on the ground made out of a painted bike path. hehehe
- blitzer, on 01/09/2008, -2/+26Went down faster than a NYC hooker
- fxu1989, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2Is that a chrysler limo ? (I'm no good with cars :( )

- aahpandasrun, on 01/09/2008, -1/+1Where's the Toys R Us? The times square Toys R Us was the best place to buy Wii accessories right after launch. They had everything in stock.
- Anonymously, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2I'll just copy and paste what I wrote above since it's the same question:

- DarkReign16, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2It even has sound effects
- kissma, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Thats not a square
- ncapone, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2I've never been to NYC, but I'm sure it's a lot louder than that.
Also, I don't see a lamb lying down anywhere.- Anonymously, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2I live and work in Manhattan and that's what it sounds like in Times Square at that hour. Just turn up the volume so you have to raise your voice a bit to have a conversation and it's a pretty decent approximation.
- neekolas, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2dang. New York's pretty butter.
- simism, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1awesome! I also think I found a penny :)
- couger77, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2Anyone know how they get these QTVR's?
- maddla, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Several Ways... Google "Panoramic VR photography". It can be a very expensive hobby. Some people even do it professionally.
- Mr.Scientist, on 01/09/2008, -2/+1The website is a little unresponsive, but if you retry you'll get through eventually. The picture is nice, but for my taste there's too much motion blur from the long exposure and the ground retouching is a bit sloppy. Still, if you've never been someplace, a panorama like that is always interesting. If you've never been to Duesseldorf, Germany, check out this one: http://www.fotoausflug.de/en-germany-duesseldorf-r ... (click on the preview to open a fullscreen window with the interactive view)
- Mr.Scientist, on 01/09/2008, -0/+0Thanks, you could at least look at the picture before you mod the comment down. People who are into exceptional panoramas, i.e. those who read these comments, might be interested in a 360 view from a building, without the building in the shot.
- Mr.Scientist, on 01/09/2008, -0/+0What a remarkably stupid bug. Edit a comment with a long URL and the display truncation destroys the URL when you save the edited version, while the visual result stays exactly the same. The correct URL is http://www.fotoausflug.de/en-germany-duesseldorf-r ...
- thekronz, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2I found it funny that when on this website, I did what I usually do when I visit NYC.... look straight up.
- maddla, on 01/09/2008, -0/+3http://www.panoramas.dk/fullscreen3/f1.html
These are some other VR's at times square, seeing the website is down this will give everyone something to look at. - maddla, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Oh and this one at Times Square at night (sorry for doubling and it's not that "exceptional"
http://www.jimisweet.com/qtvr/2004/07/10D_331_3199 ... - OneOfTheElect, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Looks like iron man is flying; look between the building with the American flag, and the building with the Budweiser ad (girl with bikini); in the sky, there are two blue streaks......ok, not so much iron man, but still cool.
- ufia, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Times Square is like an inbox filled with spam. Why tourists go see that ***** hole baffles me.
