- AllINeed, on 06/02/2009, -0/+11Ooh... The Gilroy Garlic Festival. Garlic alligator, garlic gum, garlic ice cream... and garlic breath :) It is still worth the shlep and the after-effects.
- janinekahn, on 06/02/2009, -0/+8That baby food fest is a weird one. But the D.C. BBQ battle sounds like something I could sink my teeth into.
- asgardshill, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5No Taste of Chicago? Bah - I've never been so miserably full but so happy all at the same time.
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -0/+5RibFest in Chicago needs to be on this list.
- RileyCourage, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5Am I the only one who gets heartburn just smelling those damn garlic fries? AND CAN'T STOP EATING THEM! Move over pesto, there's a new suburban crack in town.

- matthewf01, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2OK we'll need some kind of Diggbus to take us all around the country to tour all of the food festivals. Then we take pictures, submit them to ThisIsWhyYoureFat.com and digg them when we get home from our trip.

- zagatbuzz, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2A great roundup to get the taste buds going. I am shuddering to imagine the breath at the Garlic Fest though..

- ionelementz112, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1My aunt travels all the way from Switzerland for the Gilroy Garlic Festival.
- LacY, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1I know it's in May, so not technically Summer, but for BBQ, it's all about the Memphis in May BBQ festival.
- V3n0M, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Have a ball at the Testicle Festival!
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1615335/t ... - theuber1337, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1I was in Fremont last summer visiting friends and that was going on. It was actually a lot of fun.
- PistolFred, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Any chance she's from near Bern, home of the yearly onion festival (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zibelem%C3%A4rit)?
- ejc123, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1For a real festival drive the back roads of the country and stop at the fresh fruit stands - Apples in NY, Cherries in Washington, Tomatoes in New Jersey, etc. Check your web travel guides - frommers, fodors,

- wbeavis, on 06/03/2009, -1/+1"Worth the Schlep"? Obviously we have different concepts of worth. As much as I like food (and I do), the cost of time and money to visit any of these festivals is not worth it. Hundreds for airfare, hotel, and time off work. Time waiting in lines from the airport to the festival events. For what? Food I can get locally and a bunch of campy events.

What is Digg?
