We have been in contact wit the local agents that contracted the hotels but never directly with the UK based companies. Our customers can be sure that their rooms are guaranteed in those destinations. We are not resposible for any debts accumulated by local companies.
- CypriotHotelier, on 12/17/2008, -0/+0Mr. Andres Drakou, who is one of the main share holders of Libra Holidays, and for those who remember, Chairman of Helios Airlines (whose plane was crashed in Greece in summer 2005 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helios_Airways_Flight ... has invited all the hoteliers of Cyprus to attend a meeting in the offices of Libra Holidays in Limassol in order to agree a payment scheme. The proposed payment scheme proposed to all hoteliers was as follows. The hoteliers should deduct 20% of the dept as a discount. The rest 80% would be paid as follows. 50% of this 80% in cash (according to the lawyers of Libra and Mr. Drakou from the personal account of Mr. Drakou) and the rest 50% the hoteliers would have received newly issued shares of Libra from the Cypriot Stock Market. The shares of Libra can be checked on the web of the Cypriot stock market. (http://www.cse.com.cy). Please draw your own conclusions....
- CypriotHotelier, on 12/16/2008, -0/+0Our small Hotel Closed down because Libra Holidays was using more than 40% of the rooms and at the end of the year they did not pay us. We have hosted lots of British Families in 2006 and 2007 and those people have paid Libra Holidays back in the UK but Libra kept their money and did not pay us. We did not only loose our business and means of living but we also lost our market share, we have been hoteliers in Cyprus since July 1979. So I call all British Tourists to boycott all Allbury Travel until Libra Holidays pays off all its depts..
- necxsi, on 12/16/2008, -0/+0The story about boicot travel and booking holidays with Libra Holidays to Egypt and Cyprus, is a true story - they seem quite reasonable company, now belonging to a new group called Allbury Travel, but have defaulted on paying hoteliers is not a rumour. They are UK company holding name because they use to operate under previous name Libra Accommodations Cyprus Ltd, which had all contractual responsability as incoming agents in cyprus, which defaulted

How did you get on this story - they seem quite reasonable company, now belonging to a new group called Allbury Travel, providing holidays and vacation packages without paying hoteliers is a rumour. They are UK company holding name for a collection of specialist travel brands including Libra Holidays, Argo Holidays and Jetlife, Goldenjoy Dive, Enable Holidays and PriceRight Flights. The company has a fully bonded UK licence, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). All brands are protected by this one ATOL licence and UK bookings are covered by the ATOL financial protection scheme under ATOL number 0324. I don't understand reason for boicott travel and booking holidays with Libra Holidays
