A regular person gives out money and are labeled idiots - IvanB, on 07/14/2009, -0/+53I'll be the first one to say I wish I was there.
- theNazz, on 07/14/2009, -0/+49Maybe he has to spend the inheritance in order to win the REAL inheritance...
/I'm voting for 'none of the above'! - mwtapp, on 10/11/2009, -0/+33That guy knows how to party.
- Jsoul87, on 07/15/2009, -0/+33"There is one snag in their happiness though - only GBP2000 of the money was in cash, the rest had been put on travelers cheques (yeah, these were British cheques), which means they won't be able to cash them, as they can only be used by the person who purchased them, as they need to sign them. "
Haha get *****. - Majink, on 07/14/2009, -3/+30So THATS why people got to those *****.
- Crucible1001, on 07/15/2009, -0/+25And arrested.
- awtripp, on 07/15/2009, -0/+21Why does he have to be stupid to give away money to strangers? Can't he just be a generous drunk?
- macmcraeart, on 07/15/2009, -1/+18why do i get the feeling it is eventually going to end up in the pocket of a few people at goldman sachs?
- perrycarter, on 07/14/2009, -4/+21No big deal. Rap stars do this at their concerts all the time. "Make it rain on them hoes"
- Majink, on 07/14/2009, -6/+22*go to
(Note to self, PROOF READ, PROOF READ, and PROOF READ again.) - dnasty27, on 07/15/2009, -0/+16That's because celebrities are usually rich and rich people have more money to give out. They can be generous without severely hurting their bank accounts. A regular person tends to have less money. They are less likely to give it out and the people who are in similar financial situations just think of things they could have bought with that money.
- Mothh, on 07/15/2009, -0/+15A drunk guy gave away $83,000? Was it a naked Asian guy with a brown satchel? I think I saw this movie.
- borez, on 07/15/2009, -0/+12Why is this even a story, the guy was handing out travellers cheques, he may as well have been handing out Wonka bar gold tickets for all they're worth.
- RAEP, on 07/14/2009, -1/+12I'll be the second to say I wish I was there.
- doraemonxo, on 07/15/2009, -1/+10idiot is right. i'd be at a strip club rather than an airport.
- CTK14A, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8Too-da-loo, *****!
- jbird32275, on 07/15/2009, -0/+7That's because celebs do it for another reason. They aren't just throwing away money they are buying publicity.
- deddiode, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Why is he an idiot, and why is this an act of stupidity?? OK, so maybe he screwed up the whole traveler's check part, but why can't we view him in the same light as this guy?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5qJ2lO2csg - Bloyru, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Informal economic activity FTW!
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4amazing how our society is huh..
- QsheiK, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Rest assured that if a celebrity was drunk and forked out a ton of money people would laugh at them too.
- nepidae, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4So he was an idiot because he didn't put it in a mattress or something?
Buried for the douchemitter. - Tarkaan, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4That's better than what senators hand out at Minneapolis airport.
- BxBoy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3I think I saw that movie also, but couldn't remember the next morning, the hangover was killing me.
- laserpilot, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2reminds me of the plot of 'you shall know our velocity!' by dave eggers
- immatellyouwhat, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Jesus has returned, and he brought money!
- RyanXmetal, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Why am I never around when these things happen?
- mikebritton, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Arrested on the charge of Public Altruism.
- ASSASSYN360, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2I feel bad I wasn't there. But I bet the people that were and didn't get a dime feel worse.
- ChristmasPoo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2I remember going there when I was in the Navy. Best time I had while serving. There must have been a bar every 100 feet.
Beautiful Island as well. - ZenMojo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Charity is not a sickness. Greed is.
- lorenzorossetto, on 07/30/2009, -0/+2maybe he had to give up the money in a little time .
he had thought if he had squandered this sum , his relatives would have given him another any more !
it was a game to upward ! - mikebritton, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Brewster's millions!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088850/
Excellent film. - sharedknowledge, on 07/17/2009, -0/+2thank God he wasn't murdered in the process. people have been known to kill for less.
- ZenMojo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Which should make them even more praiseworthy. But this is America, where charity is a psychological condition.
- Atario, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Because that's where all money winds up.
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/2881632 ... - CTK14A, on 07/15/2009, -1/+2When you have $83,000 in your hand, what's the difference between the two?
- skube, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1And the police arrested him for this? Only letting him go after they verified the funds were legit?! Since when is it a crime to hand out money or to be smelly?
- Solkre, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Yes, but I might be able to sell that ticket to Mr. Slugworth.
- bjs3171, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1he wouldn't be allowed to give it to charity, then.
- coraleaterlinda, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1I'll be the 1,353th to say i wish i was there. Some people have all the luck.
- Mujokan, on 07/15/2009, -3/+4I cringe to think of the stupid things I have done while drunk... A few weeks ago I could have easily gotten into a knife-fight... You can wreck your life in two seconds doing something you wouldn't otherwise do in a million years. And yet weed is illegal.
- Charlotte_Web, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Wasn't that a Richard Pryor movie?
- Rudegar, on 07/15/2009, -1/+1maybe he were at the airport to travel to a place with better strip clubs ?
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -2/+2i do view him in the same light, they are both idiots. but whatever makes you sleep at night, buying gas for others, or getting wicked drunk and handing out money to strangers.
- KiloKaan, on 07/15/2009, -1/+1combination of booze and downright stupidity...a smart drunk would have en-cashed them first..
- Crucible1001, on 07/15/2009, -1/+2Well, as it said, only GBP2,000 was in cash. The checks can't be used by anyone but him. Misleading title.
- PowderedToasty, on 07/15/2009, -2/+2That's going to be one hell of a hang over.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -2/+1lucky
