- evanbooth, on 11/12/2008, -0/+25$10 says the developer working on the email campaign had that in there as a test value and forgot to take it out. I've almost made this mistake several times...
- danielsamuels, on 11/12/2008, -0/+17"We recommend you load this web site using Firefox."
Will it load the error page faster or something? - dha07030, on 11/12/2008, -0/+15"OK, This is lame"
- bbene, on 11/12/2008, -0/+11It's useless without the images...
- BluBerryGTI, on 11/11/2008, -4/+13Wow talk about customer service, i wish someone would contact me and say they miss me...
- UselessTrivia, on 11/12/2008, -0/+8What about cheerleader, whatsherface and the ugly one?
TEEN GIRL SQUAD! - MyEuphoria, on 11/12/2008, -1/+8Thats such a Monday detail.
- Jeepinator, on 11/12/2008, -0/+7Dear *****,
- Quag, on 11/12/2008, -0/+6I must have put a decimal point in the wrong place
or something. *****. I always do that. I always mess up some mundane
detail. - ileftfark, on 11/12/2008, -1/+7I got this weird feeling I just read that somewhere else...
- sirbeta, on 11/12/2008, -0/+5Seriously? It was a mistake in the email template. It should be obvious to everyone, putting mistake in quotes like the consumerist article did as if they intentionally meant to piss people off just makes me giggle.
This is lame. - KoffKoffus, on 11/12/2008, -0/+5suspended.page... Yay web hosts
- tgc1, on 11/12/2008, -0/+5404 city. Did anyone manage to create a mirror? Just asking. It looked like something interesting.
- jonesyno, on 11/12/2008, -0/+4This is not some mundane detail Michael!
- Jeepinator, on 11/12/2008, -0/+4PLANE DOWN!
- Tiak, on 11/12/2008, -0/+4It's getting to be a rather standard business practice amongst companies that have web 2.0-ish websites after you don't log in for a set period.
By, "We miss you." they really mean, "Hey, did you forget that we exist?... Just checking..." - Dronez, on 11/12/2008, -1/+4Big deal.
- Wonderama, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3I was a consultant for an email marketing company prior to the dot-com bust and most likely JetBlue outsources this to a 3rd party. Having seen some of the things that went one behind-the-scenes, I think "So and So" is a welcome relief to what could have happened.
- BossKey, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3Ha, that reminds me of the story where the database guy tested a mailing list with the dummy name "Rich Bastard" and forgot to remove it before the actual database was loaded. All the company's customers got a letter saying
"Dear Rich Bastard, ..." - MisterSoandso, on 11/12/2008, -2/+5I don't get this article...everything looks great to me...
- ngmcs8203, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3I am loading the site in firefox. Doesn't seem to make the 404 error go away.
- xdviper, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3its not even working with google cahce, wtf
- DJMattB241, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3You know what, I get the feeling that I got the whole story, even without the images. This story is stupid.
- asgardshill, on 11/12/2008, -1/+4Dear JetBlue Wage Slave,
If this is your attempt at being funny, I'm not laughing. Not even a girlish giggle is escaping my lips right now.
Wank off.
Sincerely,
James L. SoandSo - LogicBomB, on 11/12/2008, -0/+2I do this all the time - I do a lot of templates for work since I'm in sales and to be honest there are only like 5 things a person will ask, regardless of how they think their business is "different".
My templates all start with "Hello *name*".
I'm 99% good at removing that but every once in a while, sure, it slips through. - mrbad101, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1How can you be so sure they were using MySQL?
Your theory is spot on though, aside from the assumption of their database of choice. :) - Ravatar, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1< 40 issues total on that site. I think I've got that many complaints about American Airlines/Eagle just to myself.
- JakeW, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Too bad you made that account today...
- VipeNess, on 11/12/2008, -1/+2database; yeah right, someone didnt program the code to pull the customers information from their mysql database :) It the designers fault for putting the text like that, because they designed the look and feel for it.
- hawksfan03, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1that's what i was going to say. I often make a quick form and type in jibberish that the account managers needs to change before it gets sent out
- KingErroneous, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1I remember a story where this happened at a bank and the letters were all addressed to "Mr. Rich Bastard." Considering this is jetBlue, that wouldn't be apropos.
- billbugger, on 11/12/2008, -1/+2Jet Blue suppression!
- cyrusuncc, on 11/12/2008, -1/+2Apparently she was rather "mannish"
- Georgy, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1Dumbass
- dieboldcracy, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1Hey, it's me J. I was in 6B on that Burbank to Boston flight. So anyways, I'll still fly with you because I don't expect you to remember me personally, and I love the leather seats, leg room, and direct TV. Thanks
- redux2redux, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Reminds me of the "Dear Rich Bastard" mailing story...
- Anub1s, on 11/12/2008, -1/+1Oh how glad I am to have jumped ship from JetBlue. I was in customer service too haha.
- smashmiester, on 11/12/2008, -1/+0nope im using firefox and I am getting the file not found too.
- fireangl2041, on 11/12/2008, -1/+0Server down, any mirror?
EDIT: nevermind, working - squelched, on 11/12/2008, -5/+4buried waste of my time
