My own vote is yes, living forever would be pretty cool, as long as you actually are living & active. - ssquared22, on 04/27/2009, -2/+84Married men will always answer with this question: "Will my wife live forever too?"
- varun1s, on 04/27/2009, -5/+69"A total of 150 people responded for each country."
See a problem? - mklopez, on 04/27/2009, -0/+61I want to live forever, as long as I have a termination option
- Flipperbw, on 04/28/2009, -0/+49One reason for 77% of Brazilian men wanting to live forever: Brazilian women.
- cyrix, on 04/28/2009, -0/+44I want to live forever at the age of 25. And none of that "you can live forever but if you crash your car, or get shot, or stabbed, or get cancer, you die" *****. I want to be indestructible and live forever. I have this absolute NEED to see what happens to our race, our planet, the universe.... I will never be able to embrace death knowing that I won't know how everything plays out. I appreciate the time I've been given...but it's just cruel for someone like me who has such a desire to just learn and know everything.
- Bukowsky, on 04/27/2009, -0/+37If I live forever, does that mean i'm gonna be old and weak forever? if so... then no.
- inactive, on 04/28/2009, -0/+30It's not easy being a Russian.
- JFitzpatrick, on 04/28/2009, -1/+29I'd want my wife to live forever.
Do you know what a pain in the ass it would be to have to continually replace a good wife? The statistical probability of me finding a woman as pleasant, busty, and compatible as her on a continual generation basis over the next thousands of years is pretty damn slim. - inactive, on 04/28/2009, -0/+27i want to live forever but I have to stay young too.
- SweetChinMusic, on 04/28/2009, -1/+22Is 'busty' really that necessary?
- Feep, on 04/28/2009, -0/+20You don't seem to understand the concept of eternity. Being alive would be cool for 100, 100, 10000 years, maybe. But perhaps the human race goes extinct. You'll be utterly alone, bereft of human contact, for all eternity. Even if you could chill with alien lifeforms, this universe will eventually die an entropic death. There will be nothing left. You'll be sitting in the void, the blackness, for an amount of time no human could possibly comprehend.
There is no more miserable existence, friend. - nepidae, on 04/28/2009, -1/+20With a sample size of 150, for 300 million people you can get plus or minus 8% of the true value.
So for the US the reported percent is 40%. So there is a 95% confidence that 32-48% of the entire population would want to live forever. - craftyguy, on 04/28/2009, -2/+19@SweetChinMusic
Yes. Duh... - waade, on 04/28/2009, -0/+16I want to live forever just so I can witness how everything changes. I wish I was a tree ._.
- azureskies88, on 04/28/2009, -1/+14Actually, they died.
- ArgusWatch, on 04/27/2009, -3/+15Yea, awful sample size, puts the credibility of this story in doubt.
- engelb15, on 04/28/2009, -0/+12There can be only one
- HeDiggMe, on 04/27/2009, -0/+12I wonder whats in the culture of US/UK/Canada/Australia that makes our figures nearly identical
- larrimer7, on 04/28/2009, -0/+11No
- Epik, on 04/28/2009, -0/+10The ability to live forever, as in you could just end it after a few billion decades?
Or you couldn't die and move on to whatever is next. Because the ability to live longer is attractive to our 100-year norm minds but not being able to die is kind of it's own hell eventually.
Especially if you fell down some crevice in some remote corner of the world and were stuck and couldn't die while starving and cold and *****. Or if the entire human population was gone but you were left.
Or if you ended up floating in space alone but couldn't die. Haha oh that would be the ***** worst. An eternity of floating though blackness with nothing to do but think about how you were such an idiot to want immortality. - mklopez, on 04/27/2009, -0/+10Theres no time for us... Theres no place for us...
- bubbameister33, on 04/28/2009, -0/+10I'd piss on you.
- matticusf1nch, on 04/28/2009, -0/+10You always see those movies where people go crazy because they outlive everyone they've ever met. But that one dude in Sandman seemed to be alright.
- FullMetalNIN, on 04/28/2009, -1/+11Living forever is a disturbing thought. After a few eternities you'd pray for a violent death, and yet, you've only just begun.
- lewystud, on 04/28/2009, -0/+9Can I do the first 1000 yrs and then choose again?
- unorginalityftw, on 04/28/2009, -1/+10Either A) your wife reads your digg comments, or B) you actually did score the one in a million and everyone else will now hate you because of it you ***** bastard.
- azureskies88, on 04/28/2009, -1/+10That's what beheadings are for.
- kahoona1, on 04/28/2009, -1/+10Of course most of India wants to live forever, they're afraid they'll come back as an inferior animal if they die.
- Jordan117, on 04/28/2009, -0/+9I'd like to live forever, or at least a very long time. Just to see how the story ends, you know? What people will manage to do. It's fascinating to think about.
- Buckeye17, on 04/28/2009, -0/+8i'd ***** your little knot sticking off the trunk
- Grolsch, on 04/28/2009, -0/+8to get some extra cholesterol?
- TennisinneT, on 04/28/2009, -0/+8If it means Dr. Aubrey's form of eternal life (Eternal youth), then yes, please.

- MaleMaldives, on 04/28/2009, -0/+7Most Brazil men said yes because their women are so hot.
- MofugginPaulrus, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6I think it corresponds to how warm the weather is.
- Flipperbw, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tithonus
Need to ask for eternal youth as well :/ - strictnein, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6I'd cut you down.
- alpha88, on 04/28/2009, -3/+9Awesomeness.
- JiveRabbit, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6My head hurts. A lot
- slvrbullet87, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6and these people who lived forever... where are they... oh thats right they are dead
- BlueScreenOD, on 04/28/2009, -1/+7The number of people sampled isn't really the most important criteria for how accurate the survey was. After all, most political polls only sample around 1000 people. What's really important is how they got those 150 answers. For example, if they called 150 random people, the results might be skewed because individuals around the world that have a phone are most likely wealthier than those who don't and might be predisposed to answering a specific way. In addition, those that actually take the time to talk to a random person on the phone might also be predisposed to answering a specific way.
However, even taking those factors into account, 150 people is probably still not a large enough representative sample for a country. But who cares, the survey is just for fun. - Lefts, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6The English speaking internet, which is both the best and worst place in the world.
- blast_flame, on 04/28/2009, -0/+6When entropy becomes a problem simply break into another universe. So long as you have fellow foreverers with you and program some AIs I don't see loneliness being a problem.
- jmpeagle, on 04/28/2009, -0/+5I wouldn't mind maybe a 100,000 years, but forever is pushing it as space would eventually become a cold desolate place
- ausdigger, on 09/15/2009, -0/+5this guy's wife reads Digg.
He's hoping to get laid tonight. - ldailey06, on 04/28/2009, -0/+5You have to be extremely pessimistic to not want to live forever. Using twisted logic and a completely unrelated mathematical identity to rationalize wanting to die is a good example.
- Sifor22, on 04/28/2009, -2/+7Why would anyone want to live forever? To see all your friends and loved ones die, while you yourself are unable to, would be truly terrible. One of the the things that make the things we do in this life so important is the fact that we will not always be here. If you were going to live forever, why would anything be important? Nothing would have the same value to you.
- harvinator24, on 04/28/2009, -2/+7What does your wife read your digg comments.
Just think about it. If you 2,000 years old most likely if your smart you will have a pretty dam large sum of money. It would be pretty easy to pick up a playmate, and since they are not that bright (stereotypically) they would die young. - LexWalk, on 04/27/2009, -3/+8Why else would I drink 5 eggs every morning?
