- BenTheTank, on 04/15/2009, -1/+27Most people (myself included) don't usually think of China as a beautiful place.
But with it's humongous land mass alone it's bound to have a lot of beautiful landscapes and interesting geology.
I'm interesting in seeing more of China, but am probably to lazy to look it up myself. - DrBadger, on 04/15/2009, -1/+12After seeing this title and thumbnail i was expecting some story about a horribly polluted lake by a copper mine or something, glad i was wrong
- Joolz404, on 04/15/2009, -1/+10Looks like something out of Mario Galaxy.
- tim04, on 04/15/2009, -0/+8I wouldn't be surprised if there was a legend. That's what happens when your country is older than a few hundred years.
- ryanonfire, on 04/15/2009, -2/+10Well at least it isn't all polluted http://www.reuters.com/article/environmentNews/idU ...
- FreckleEars, on 04/15/2009, -0/+6Speaking of "it's bound to have a lot of beautiful landscapes and interesting geology", take a look at this.

Cool ass endorheic drainage basin in China. I love the idea of the water draining into a desert and disappearing.

- vagrantwade, on 04/15/2009, -1/+6What an awful website you just linked to.
- ZeeZee2k, on 04/15/2009, -1/+6What is this? 1996?
- yfph, on 04/15/2009, -0/+5Just don't fall into the one of the cursed girl. Well, maybe some of the diggers here would like that...
- bstronga, on 04/15/2009, -0/+5i've been there.
it's huge and truly beautiful. people say it's most amazing in autumn because of the colors of the trees.
anyway about pollution, not every damn city in china is like shanghai or beijing a mega metropolis with a 20mil population...
also jiuzhaigou is fairly isolated, it's a 10hrs bus trip thru mountains from chengdu the capital of sichuan province to jiuzhaigou.
inside of jiuzhaigou are only electric busses. - inactive, on 04/15/2009, -1/+5which one, after bathing in, turns you into a martial arts grand master?

- Ribby18, on 04/15/2009, -3/+6Are we sure this is really China? Or just those "animated" framed pictures of lakes and waterfalls that hang on the walls of every Chinese food restaurant in America??? You know the ones I'm talkin about. They are about 5 inches thick and the tiger chillaxin in the foreground stares at you the whole time your at the buffet. I'm just sayin...
- FreckleEars, on 04/15/2009, -0/+3What was the worst site I have seen in ages. That looked like it was from geocities!
- cola262, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2Due to the increased tourism in China, people having disposable income, they built an airport going straight to this national park (Jiu Zhai Valley). However, too many people are going there, so many people who fly in don't even get to enter the gates. There is a limit and by 7 or 8AM they close off the gates to the national park. Almost miss the good old days when you have to brave a deadly 12-hour trip to get there.
- individual61, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2Reminds me of the lagoons of volcanic origin in Parque Nacional Conguillio, in Chile:

d. - SPLASTiK, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2Kind of reminds me of Emerald Lake in the Yukon.
Just got my travel visa and I'm leaving for China this Saturday. Can't wait. - Epik, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2http://www.impactlab.com/2006/02/07/amazing-photos ...
Some of those same pictures are on this page that was submitted to digg: http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Beautiful_China_Pics - 1773nium, on 04/15/2009, -1/+3The goddess broke the mirror because she was a huge lady and couldn't stand the sight of herself anymore. Man, some women are just so insecure.
- xsecretfiles, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2I want to find the one that turns you into a girl...
- slickrocktrail, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2There are about 3,000 people around that small pond. It must be relaxing getting away in China and visiting the National Parks.

- suzannethetiger, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2"The area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, in part for the natural beauty and in part for its endangered plant and animal species, such as giant pandas and the Sichuan takin, a type of antelope."
Sichuan takin? Sounds delicious! - Doomsan, on 04/15/2009, -0/+2Ranma ½, what memories.
- tim04, on 04/18/2009, -0/+1Uh no, I said EXACTLY what I wanted to. China has always been China; don't try to politicize it. I can't believe that you can claim with a straight face that US history dates back to the Romans. Why not go further back to the cave men while you're at it?
- inactive, on 04/15/2009, -0/+1why would you want that?
- drgmdp, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1any of them. come on, it's china.

Read the comments there for some more insight into the area and other places you can go if you decide to make a trip to that part of China. - claralyn, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1"There is a limit and by 7 or 8AM they close off the gates to the national park."
For serious? Thanks for telling me, I was thinking of visiting the park next week! - sjuraud, on 04/15/2009, -0/+1There was an article in National Geographic about this place. I don't remember the exact month issue, but it was in the last 3 or 4.
http://www.nationalgeographic.com/adventure/0408/t ... - macas, on 04/20/2009, -0/+1This is definitively some of my next destinations
- retral, on 04/15/2009, -0/+1lol @ pic 10... way to pollute nice crystal clear springs with heavy boat traffic..

- inactive, on 04/15/2009, -1/+1Why are the lakes those brilliant blue colours?
- buddamus, on 04/15/2009, -3/+3Amazing, we haven't polluted it yet
