- tssfan1, on 12/15/2007, -4/+176I really hope that glass does not break.
- shifty2, on 12/15/2007, -0/+140it would have been more impressive if the bottom was made of clear acrylic.
it would have to be like 3 feet thick, but that would be fun to dive into. - edilclyde, on 12/15/2007, -0/+87then the ground will shake
- sb76117, on 12/15/2007, -1/+76i can see this from my apartment!
the building itself is very nice. if you see the architecture towards the top, at night is lit up in an array of color-cycling lights. the pool area has it's own lighting system that mimicks the building's light sequence/colors - latrosicarius, on 12/15/2007, -1/+60the bottom should be glass too
- themastersb, on 12/15/2007, -1/+57If it ever does you better be a good swimmer.
- samcrut, on 12/15/2007, -3/+58This is Texas. I'm sure the architects have anticipated the effect of a little gun play.
- MrBabyMan, on 12/15/2007, -5/+59All it would take is one well-aimed bullet...
- Dokument, on 12/15/2007, -0/+48Sure thats not your toilet?
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -2/+49That makes my bathtub looks like *****.
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -0/+44Oh wait, this pool is REAL? The preview image looked like something from The Sims 2!
- samcrut, on 12/15/2007, -1/+41The glass is several inches thick. It would take a cannon to crack that wall.
- mal1964, on 12/15/2007, -2/+41Great design, and it has saved two people after their suicide attempts
- Gabnoj, on 12/15/2007, -2/+30There's a pool just like that in Auckland, New Zealand, attached to the Hilton Hotel; been there for years.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gemmac/359180835/ (The bright blue bit...) - quomen, on 12/15/2007, -0/+28Was thinking this exactly.. It would be such a thrill. I bet their insurance for that pool is already insane though.
- gapingass, on 12/15/2007, -2/+29I thought it was a screenshot from The Sims at first glance
- ispeakasian, on 12/15/2007, -0/+26http://www.thecannonstore.com. One cannon, coming right up!
- bonyicecream, on 12/15/2007, -1/+27Dallas Texas dude. It's flat because there haven't been any major tectonic plate movements(collisions? I'm not up to par on this subject) around here.
In other words, Dallas doesn't have earthquakes. If one day it does, that will be bad, very bad....good for department stores though. - inactive, on 12/15/2007, -1/+22They're going to what?
- cap11235, on 12/15/2007, -1/+21I feel really nerdy now. My first thought was, "Wow, an isometric photo."
- ryanonfire, on 12/15/2007, -2/+22next you'll be saying the earth is round
- Jholder112233, on 12/15/2007, -0/+19http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1530+Main+St,+Dallas ...
Hopefully that one works... - ChunkyGork, on 12/15/2007, -0/+16Looks like The Sims 2
- tcpip4lyfe, on 12/15/2007, -0/+14take a picture of the entire building and post it. I wanna see.
- NinjaBass, on 12/15/2007, -2/+15We already have enough douchebags on Digg, move along please. People can live wherever the hell they want.
- dustinhyle, on 11/10/2009, -9/+22That is fricken crazy. I think that I would feel a bit awkward out by the edge. What happens if there was all of a sudden an earthquake. Just me being cautious though.
- savethemooses, on 12/15/2007, -0/+13I thought that was what it was based on the thumbnail.
- BlackJackJester, on 12/15/2007, -0/+11Plus, I'd bet its not glass, but plexiglass...so a bullet hole would just be a hole, and nobody would get sucked out
- adrianmonk, on 12/15/2007, -13/+24You could be the best swimmer in the world and it ain't going to matter. If you're in the water, you're going WHOOOOSH out with it.
- dn11, on 12/15/2007, -0/+11looks even more bizarre from that angle. i bet the people in the building across the street all scope the chicks with their binoculars ;)
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+11He got dugg down because he was trying to correct a joke.
- SprostonGreen, on 12/15/2007, -0/+10How's this for scary? http://www.flickr.com/photos/archisculpture/166620 ...
- nomadxx7, on 12/15/2007, -3/+12Don't know why you're getting dugg down Adrianmonk. If all that water rushed out at once it wouldn't matter if you were the best swimmer in the world. You'd get sucked out of the pool with all the water. Just think of it this way. The pool is at minimum a 16' x 32' (possibly a standard 20' x 40'). Given those 2 sizes you have between 20k to 30k gallons of water in the pool. There is approximately 8 lbs to 1 gallon of water. So you have about 160,000 lbs to 240,000 lbs of water weight. You force that all out at once and no matter if you're experienced or not you're going over the edge.
OFF TOPIC: It'd be cool to get enough people in the pool to make a wave pool (just jump up and down). Watch waves of water spill over onto some poor sap below - Aroundtown27, on 12/15/2007, -3/+12Same thing, but the bottom is glass in Austrailia - Adelphi Hotel
http://images.google.com/images?q=adelphi+melbourn ... - Jholder112233, on 12/15/2007, -2/+11Street View shows us a shot from underneath!
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1530+Main+St,+Dallas ... - ledguitar, on 12/15/2007, -0/+8Imagine the end hanging off the edge being see-through. People are swimming and they see that and freak out.
- inactive, on 12/15/2007, -0/+8Omg! You read my mind! If you're female, we should have a chat somehow. We might be made for each other!
- jun2san, on 12/15/2007, -1/+8The irony of your comment is that your the one who got buried.
- samcrut, on 12/15/2007, -1/+8Texas doesn't quake. The only earthquake of note to hit Texas was a 5.8 out around El Paso back in 1931. Dallas is about as far as you can get from all the major fault lines.
- SRSco, on 12/15/2007, -0/+7If it is a girl...her name is CHUNKYGork...you may want to reconsider.
- sanitysama, on 12/15/2007, -1/+8I thought this was a Habbo Hotel screenshot from the thumbnail.
Pool's closed. - pukiman, on 12/15/2007, -0/+7slip
- merreborn, on 12/15/2007, -0/+6No, not really. If it's like any of the aquariums that hold that much water, it's somewhere between several inches, and a foot thick.
The Monterey bay aquarium has a million gallon tank with a single pane window, which is two stories high -- it reaches from the floor of the viewing area, to the ceiling of the floor above, which has a balcony, and is a good 100 feet wide, at least.

This swimming pool in texas is small potatoes next to this thing. - graeh, on 12/15/2007, -2/+8There's one like that in a hotel in Melbourne, Australia. I can't remember what the place is called - but they've used it to film some TV commercials - quite neat looking - and looks very similar.
This one is even freakier http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=int&w=all&q=avalon ... - iPissExcellence, on 12/15/2007, -0/+6how do you plan to wrap it?
- samcrut, on 12/15/2007, -0/+6Click the "All Sizes" button up top and look at that glass more closely. You might chip it but you aren't going to shoot through that much glass.
- samcrut, on 12/15/2007, -0/+6hrmmm... That's just a mile down the street from my place. I'll have to look up next time I'm over there.
The glass wall is very nice, but I'd have gone for a glass bottom as well if I was me. - samcrut, on 12/15/2007, -0/+6Maybe next year. The hotel opens in another month or two.
- DiggzDE, on 12/15/2007, -2/+7I think this one at the Palms is better:
