- AmyVernon, on 10/28/2008, -0/+17I loved No. 6, but all were stunners...
- BarbaraRae, on 10/28/2008, -0/+15Absolutely beautiful scenery and pics...they are all winners!
- speedk0re, on 10/28/2008, -4/+15Yes, London. You know: fish, chips, cup ‘o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary ***** Poppins… LONDON.
- Karkian, on 10/29/2008, -0/+10Oh those English and the way they spell English words.
Mad bastards. - Twinnie, on 10/29/2008, -1/+10Also taken without the need to carry a gun.
- JepthaAxe, on 10/29/2008, -0/+8Best view of London:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e267/nickjadegre ... - absolutelytrue, on 05/26/2009, -0/+8These are all incredibly vivid and beautiful pictures. I don't necessarily agree with the winner, but they are all extremely good. Rare to find a collection of pictures like this with each one being excellent.
- thephysicist, on 10/28/2008, -1/+7how about you GTFO then....
overcrowded airport - well Heathrow is like the Airport Hub of the world.
scowled at by their rude ***** citizens - fact, get used to it.
crammed and and boring streets - 7Million people in London, & wtf
realize - realise (learn to use English correctly)
Hawaii - is not UK (you must have taken wrong flight) - the2989, on 10/28/2008, -0/+5As someone who's never seen what the UK looks like besides its cities, this was pretty cool. #9 was my favorite.
- absolutelytrue, on 05/26/2009, -0/+4I was drawn to this particular picture as well.
- dillhole, on 10/28/2008, -1/+5Agreed, WAY too much post-processing.
- jeffthejiff, on 10/29/2008, -0/+4Don't judge the UK by these photos - they're not particularly representative. Sure, they're pretty, but don't really say a lot about the UK, just that post-processing looks cool.
Try these instead:

- DirtyVicar, on 10/29/2008, -0/+4Best Views of the UK -- in stunning 590 x 390 pixel resolution.
Get with the times, Guardian... it isn't the Web of the 1990s. Or was this intended for viewing on my cell phone? - lvliv, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3KKK convention in pic 2?
- nads, on 10/28/2008, -10/+13Don't be naive. Everyone of these pictures was taken by CCTV.
- Fishn2, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3How funny, I experienced the exact same thing when in American airports, the most annoying thing was the fact they scowled and generally looked annoyed, but masked it with insincere "manners".
Canadian airports are the best I've been through. - Cannonballkid, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3The UK is a great place to visit so much to see and do
- Beatmiser, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3I live in Hawaii and I can tell you that for rude sneering locals we have the UK beat. Hands down.
- atgmac, on 10/29/2008, -1/+3I live in London and I have to agree with all of those. But there's nothing wrong with fish, chips and tea.
- ucbmckee, on 10/28/2008, -1/+3<3
- xan18, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2Excellent pictures, nice find.
- dbhalla, on 10/28/2008, -0/+2Snatch
Well said sir. - redscofield, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2you know, for a place that has that much rainy and cloudy days, it still warms my heart every time i see it...
- melat0nin, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2How about Scotland?!!
- dbhalla, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2its a quote from a movie?
- jeffthejiff, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2True -- i just searched for a few random phrases on Flickr and totally forgot about our wonderful northern parts. Here you go:
http://flickr.com/search/?q=cairngorms - fabkebab, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2Virtually nothing from the home counties - When I think of my favourite part of britain (where I grew up) , its apple trees blossoming in the gardens of thached cottages and the spires of distant churches
- Caiman, on 10/29/2008, -1/+2You talking about your arrival back home?
- aethelberga, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1Gorgeous pictures, but what, no Yorkshire? The most breathtakingly beautiful patch of land on the planet.
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -1/+2YANKEE GO HOME!
- Helois, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1Not in england :)
- armo, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1Some good pics here
http://www.mountain-photography.co.uk - Luciapalooza, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1mmm, beer
- texas166, on 10/29/2008, -1/+2ive been to a fair few countries, and the uk is by far the best!
but i would say that... i live there! - ChaosPrime, on 10/29/2008, -1/+2Sorry, it's Blackpool, if you've ever been there, it's a *****, and no matter how beautiful a photo may make it look, it always will be.
- lvliv, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1after my last comments gets dugg WAYYY down..Here's a normal..
Good pictures...hate slideshows. - Helois, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1no? but theres 3 pictures with waves anyway what was it?
- bakagaigin, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1why are you here?
- notoeverything, on 10/29/2008, -0/+0Try going further north than the home counties if you want some variation on hedgerows
- Laughto, on 10/29/2008, -2/+2Wow looks like you can almost extract the water of beauty from the rock of such a mundane country. Don't be fooled people, I've lived in England all my life and I warn you: expect mostly ***** architecture, wildlife that consists of rows and rows of boring farming fields (that's why we keep going on about how green our countryside is - nothing beyond the colour is worthy of comment) and weather that makes everything look depressing 80% of the time, ambivalent the remaining 20%. Also, there are no rolling hills. The hills do not move.
- Lephisto, on 10/29/2008, -0/+0Yes in England a few go up a hill on Halloween near Birmingham
- Jimbeeer, on 10/29/2008, -0/+0I used to live in Blackpool for about 14 years and i never remember it being that brown. Or that picturesque.
I do remember it being an absolute *****, full of tramps and dossers hanging around outside the Job Centre. And the pubs being full of Glaswegians looking for a fight to go with their kebab.
Those pictures are photoshopped, every single one of them. It should be a competition for best photoshopping of an average photo. - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -3/+1Nobody likes America anyways, that country is going into the ***** faster than anything
- tortlord, on 10/28/2008, -4/+21, 8, 10, and 12 were amazing, I wasn't really feeling 4.
- Inaktivist, on 10/29/2008, -6/+2LOLz... pictars remind me of ghey!
- LordBacon, on 10/29/2008, -6/+1That can't be the UK, i don't see any CCTV camera !
- jbenson2, on 10/29/2008, -6/+1Best photos??? If those are the best photos of the UK, it is a sad commentary of the photography skills of the British.
- Nordjak, on 10/28/2008, -9/+4Apparently the UK scenery is so dull that photographers have to use HDR and extreme post-processing to make their pictures look interesting.
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -9/+2Yawn.
There is more beauty in the bra and panty section of a Sears catalogue. -
