- rrunboy12, on 02/17/2008, -0/+28no full size versions? how can we appreciate a picture if we can barely see it?
- kru1e, on 02/17/2008, -0/+20The Travel Photo of the year is 456 X 302?
- cygnus2112, on 02/17/2008, -0/+14I hate when I travel to Budapest or New Zealand and all the color bleeds out of the world. It's like when I turn to the AMC station.
- coheedcollapse, on 02/17/2008, -3/+16I absolutely love the fact that some real pictures are getting their chance on the front page. Real, honest-to-god, non HDR crap, non blown-out contrast, real, amazing photos.
It's so much more powerful to look at a photo and know that it was really as cool, interesting, or beautiful in real life. - tikiman453, on 02/17/2008, -0/+6i wonder who ended up getting the food? the eagle or the jackal...
- sambapati87, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3are they still travel photographs if you live there?
- Sautechef, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3Enough of the "Best images of whatever..." not including any full image size options!!
- cathpah, on 02/17/2008, -0/+2these are good....not great. sorry, but there are MUCH better travel shots from 2007

- RyanPT, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1The festivals winner is an amazing photograph. It's a shame we can't use them as backgrounds. I don't think that resolution will look too hot all stretched out...
- cledford, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1I'm impressed.
- Ludnix, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Why did they include "of" in their acronym?
- t0ny, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Kinda funny how pros buy $5k+ cameras and the only people that will ever get to see the full photos are the news editors.
- pigtown, on 02/17/2008, -2/+3I wish I had known. I've taken a ton of pictures I think are a lot better than these.

(Travel Photographer Of The Year) - Ludnix, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1I refuse to believe any professional photographer is concerned with people using their works as backgrounds.
- JonTheGoose, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Wonderful winning photograph but, man, lens flare makes me cringe.

- GawtMilk, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1Yeah, there was a great photo of an oil pipeline which burst. It was on the cover of Rangefinder magazine a couple of months ago.
And, take a note Flickr users : THERE IS NO HDR IN THIS COMPETITION! - agentbob, on 02/17/2008, -1/+12007 called it...
nevermind. - ipek, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1Cool photos...except no.8 which is weird
- chris8535, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1not even close to the best, there are more competent and interesting images in the NYtimes every day.
- swirl12, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0Nice pictures....
- GawtMilk, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1Or the exhibition galleries with 30 x 40 inch prints. Just because your visual arts exposure is limited to the internet, doesn't mean that the photographs are ever displayed at a size greater than 456 x 302. The truth is that more and more people are limiting their photographs to small sizes because when they're displayed at 1680 x 1050, people just use them as backgrounds with no credit to the photographer.
- Ploosheeta, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1#8 is the new Mona Lisa.
- lindazhao333, on 02/20/2008, -0/+0I like pic2, color looking good, also gives feeling of happiness
- shanamistress, on 06/30/2008, -0/+0Yeah, these pics were okayish, but clearly the photographer has never been down to Cape Town side.
Shana | http://www.campsbayholidays.co.za - kilop1, on 06/27/2008, -0/+0cool pics! I think they are missing some images of Prague! shot of -from Charles bridge for example. When I stayed in a hotel ((http://www.prague-hotels.org.uk/) not far from it, i used to wake up early and made really good shot. Is there a way i can add them to that collection ?
- WorldTripper, on 06/16/2008, -0/+0fully agree! would be silly..
- movies324, on 12/22/2008, -0/+0What is the size of Travel Photo of the year?

http://www.childrenslighting.me.uk/ - spacerobot, on 02/17/2008, -1/+0Great pictures. I just wish they were a bit larger so I could see them better. They don't have to be large enough for wallpapers, just large enough for me not to have wonder what certain things are in the photograph.
It is nice to see some great non-photoshopped images. - larsonsm, on 02/17/2008, -1/+0I'm surprised that that particular photograph won. It's really amateurish and makes the festival look like a cult suicide.
- curiousgrge, on 02/17/2008, -2/+1Where does the pictures of Britney's cooch score?
- oeyvind, on 02/17/2008, -1/+0Yushu is not in eastern Tibet, but China's Qinghai province .
- Mrdudeperson, on 02/17/2008, -2/+0I don't think these are the best. I took a couple pictures of a flower when i went to california in august, they are spectacular.
- mopro, on 02/17/2008, -2/+0you will not find me in any of the photographs. too sad, too sad.
- andyhadfield, on 02/17/2008, -4/+1very cool... they should include some images from South Africa...
- Lephtovermeet, on 02/17/2008, -9/+4I pooped 5 minutes ago. It was really good.
- replaysMike, on 02/17/2008, -10/+2Front page at 32 digs?
