When covered with a thin sheet of water, this 4,000+ square-mile salt flat creates a stunning reflection of everything above it.

It's the lake photographed on Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here inset (pure glass), and where the town of Lago stood in Clint Eastwood's High Planes Drifter (wind-blasted white-caps).
I'd never understood the "Save Mono Lake" campaign until I saw it reflecting the mountains and sky like a beautiful blue mirror.
