- MiniCooper2007, on 07/20/2008, -1/+45Dugg for seeing those on my way into landing at the airport there and now after a year and a half I know what they actually are.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -15/+51All the colors looks so fabulous! That's the excess of gayness leaking out of San Fransisco.
- homer420032003, on 07/20/2008, -0/+30Wait...

- brycehebert, on 05/03/2009, -0/+26Looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.
- Victorface, on 07/20/2008, -3/+19These are closer to Sunnyvale and Santa Clara than San Francisco.
- DeffJeff, on 07/20/2008, -0/+12Mmmmmmmm salty algae
- dispontainious, on 07/20/2008, -0/+11theres a note left in the red ponds saying, "moses was here"
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -2/+11That just goes to show that no matter how discombobulated the world gets, something so simple can have so much beauty and organization.
- theredbanana, on 07/20/2008, -4/+12Even the ponds are gay.
Just kidding, they actually look amazingly cool. - badassninja, on 07/20/2008, -0/+8I flew over those and I nearly forgot about that. It was so unreal that I almost didn't believe my eyes because I didn't understand what I was seeing.

- geeshock, on 07/20/2008, -0/+7If you zoom out a bit, they all turn blue.

- Spyke72, on 07/20/2008, -0/+3Wow, beautiful. I always take them for granted (and roll up the windows due to smell) when driving through them, nice to see a different side.

- crazzy88ss, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Technically, those aren't in SF...
- Punjabdasher, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3I always wondered what the hell those big blotches were on Google Maps.. but the majority are in the South Bay.. not in San Francisco.
- runnernerd, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Near there are sewage treatment ponds that I had to run around for high school XC. The smell alone has scarred me for life.
- myhandleondigg, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2this stuff seems to pop up on sites like this every few months. very odd that salt ponds grab so much attention.
- Ramble, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Ok!
- Myztry, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2What a lovely shade of algae. But what type of algae are in the pools.
Locally we have outbreaks of Blue Green Algae and it's quite toxic to humans.

- cephelo, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1If you do any basic research on salt ponds you'd quickly find that the hues change as the salinity increases and include bright red hues and brown/orange hues as seen in your Google maps link.
- Gnar04, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1NEXT?
