- plaguepony, on 03/22/2009, -2/+64850,000 People used to live here.
- MrApocalypse, on 03/22/2009, -0/+386Now it's a ghost town.
- holyskeleton, on 03/22/2009, -8/+354I can't even count how many Call of Duty 4 scenes were in there.
- TeKFX, on 03/22/2009, -7/+326I feel like I just had a real-life walkthrough of that Call of Duty 4 sniper mission.
- psokley, on 03/22/2009, -16/+295Wow!
- Yeskill, on 03/22/2009, -4/+252Our so called leaders prostituted us to the west.
- Jimbob200, on 03/22/2009, -2/+233Destroying our culture, our economies...our honour.
- blackbelt88, on 03/22/2009, -14/+245It's actually quite shocking how familiar some of those landscapes look after playing Call of Duty 4.
- slicksabo, on 03/22/2009, -5/+220and thats the closest i'll ever get to Chernobyl
- Jimbob200, on 03/22/2009, -6/+187Just as they lay waste to our country, we shall lay waste to theirs.
- mogglas, on 03/22/2009, -1/+179I'm pretty sure they're not going to wear the geiger counter on their heads though...
- gardnmi, on 03/22/2009, -5/+181I see those pictures and all I can think about are sniper vantage spots.
- AngryAngryBrian, on 03/22/2009, -29/+186Get out of here Stalker.
- PersonX2, on 03/22/2009, -1/+157I was there about a month ago! It was eerie. Only Me and 3 others and the same guide as pictured in this post, Yuri. The only ones alone in the city. http://www.brianscottphoto.com/chernobyl for photos. By the way, I still haven't grown any extra body parts.
- unic0rn, on 03/22/2009, -2/+147Haha, I was just about to point that out. The amusement park, the swimming pool, CoD4 was right on my mind.
- Yarkz, on 03/22/2009, -2/+147Thank god this was not by some news website otherwise the pictures would be 100x100
- rypic7, on 03/22/2009, -11/+128"Some dumbass takes off his hat and puts it on the ground while he poses for a picture, Yuri almost kills him. 'DONT PUT STUFF ON THE GROUND!!!'. Dumbass."
Except for the geiger counter they place on the ground every five pictures? - fabkebab, on 03/22/2009, -8/+113The fairground ones were the best - I wasnt expecting them
- ezyeric, on 03/22/2009, -6/+103"Its not advisable to sit on these chairs for too long, if you value having working balls."
- MacEnvy, on 03/22/2009, -4/+97Reminded me of Call Of Duty 4 after "One Shot One Kill". Strangely similar, actually. I wonder if they modeled it that way on purpose.
Edit: Looks like they noticed that in the comments below as well. - Kylde, on 03/22/2009, -14/+103brave man ...
- Brizzyce, on 03/22/2009, -0/+80Yeah, that would be Pripyat. It's no coincidence, that's where the events in the game take place.
- totallydismayed, on 03/22/2009, -2/+78That graffiti on the walls... reminiscent of the "shadows" seared in place in the wake of destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki... I think that may be the single most creepy thing I have ever seen in my life.
- LMN8R, on 03/22/2009, -12/+86Posts referencing Call of Duty 4 instead of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl make me sad.
- Cycline3, on 03/22/2009, -10/+82Man I love photos of Pripryat and Chernobyl. These are really good, but there's better out there on the web. Such lovely decadent decay. As a photographer, I dream of getting to go and take pics... not to mention Ukrainian women are hot.
- sooter8, on 03/22/2009, -1/+72remember kids, always keep an eye on that Geiger counter, and then pop some rad-away for good measure.
- cmf2071, on 03/22/2009, -0/+70Other way round perhaps ??
- Neworab, on 03/22/2009, -0/+66I've been there, I was at that Ferris wheel...
Defending it from Russians and attack dogs while I waited for
my escape helicopter to come pick me up. - Thorpe, on 03/22/2009, -0/+65Ever since playing Call of Duty 4, I've always wanted to go on one of those tours of Chernobyl.
- ZeeZee2k, on 03/22/2009, -2/+65Sucks to be the tour guide here
- 666300, on 03/22/2009, -8/+70This makes me want to play Fallout 3 again.
- mr_ziy, on 03/22/2009, -9/+67C-C-Combo Breaker!
- Trichomonas, on 03/22/2009, -1/+58I was! Because of COD4. That level was awesome and it looks so similar to the actual pictures. Hats off to the COD4 level designers.
- rory2267, on 03/22/2009, -11/+68didn't you steal that from the second forum post?
- Grazzit, on 03/22/2009, -0/+56it's quite interesting to see just how well a modern city holds up with no maintenance for over 20 years, it's also a tad surprising just how quickly other parts are being overgrown with trees. The entire area maybe a radioactive death sentence but it will make a very nice wild life preserve.
The bridge of death was quite chilling... - and303, on 03/22/2009, -0/+54Again? How did you stop?
- anksed, on 03/22/2009, -6/+59a combo doesn't work if it's the same person, chief.
- Nerfdude, on 03/22/2009, -0/+51i didn't really notice it until the ferris wheel, and then the swimming pool. they got those dead on.
- r0ji, on 03/22/2009, -1/+47DON'T PUT STUFF ON THE GROUND!!!1!!1
- sneaker98, on 03/22/2009, -1/+46You're joking, right? That *was* the location, and they said it several times in the game!
- toppgun, on 03/22/2009, -2/+47makes me want to play stalker
- sherrington19, on 03/22/2009, -1/+44Kidding, these are ace. Really really cool.
- Jimbob200, on 03/22/2009, -2/+45No one else was stepping up.
- RetepNamenots, on 03/22/2009, -2/+44Hats off, just don't put them on the ground.
And to the people who will inevitably Digg me down because this comment at first appears to make little contextual sense, just read the article first, yeah? - Kenelm, on 03/22/2009, -0/+42It's even more accurate in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It gave me goosebumps just to enter Pripyat, and it was nothing compared to the moment I entered the reactor.
- mean2u, on 03/22/2009, -0/+38Wow Infinity Ward did do a nice job indeed. Man did that level pissed me off.
Cool pictures. - Thorpe, on 03/22/2009, -1/+37Yeah, they captured it well. That's my favourite part of the game when you are going through Chernobyl.
- fortunado, on 03/22/2009, -0/+36I was thinking the same thing ... "hey that's where I sniped that one guy!," ... "hey that's the bumper car platform of death I hid behind on veteran!" ... "hey that's the creepy swimming pool I..." ... you get the idea. :P
- iamnobody8614, on 03/22/2009, -0/+36Unless it was the Boston Globe or WSJ. They usually do things right when it comes to photostory layouts.
