- willster580, on 06/21/2009, -1/+45Asia and Latin America = The World?
- jbbears554, on 06/21/2009, -1/+35The guy in Tokyo looks just like George Bush in the picture... Coincidence?
- STBAT25, on 06/21/2009, -0/+29It's good to see pics like this because it puts life in the Western world into perspective. We bitch and moan about being stuck in traffic or that gas costs too much but at least most of us have air conditioned homes and enough food to be overweight if we don't take care of ourselves.
- Equinamin, on 06/21/2009, -1/+20Great photographers and photos. Simply stunning and heart felt shots.
- mecharabbit, on 06/21/2009, -4/+23These photos of people in the the so-called "underdeveloped" or "undeveloped" world are reminders that those of us in the "modern" world are missing out on a lot of life's simple pleasures.
- MikaStar, on 06/21/2009, -1/+12like malaria?
- darkfish, on 06/21/2009, -0/+10Look it up first before you hit the keyboard. There is indeed a Hyderabad city in Sindh province of Pakistan. And it is spelled Hyderabad, not "Hydrabad". This is the correct spelling for both cities of the same name in Sindh, Pakistan and Andhra Pradesh, India.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyderabad,_Sindh - CaptainPanda, on 06/21/2009, -0/+10I think not.
- DavidTurnbull, on 06/21/2009, -0/+9Life kicks ass.
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -1/+10Dugg for being all on one page.
- justcharlie, on 06/21/2009, -0/+7Beautiful large photos which tell an interesting story! They only have boston.com to live up to.
- droplister, on 06/21/2009, -3/+9Myanmar(read: Burma)
- Pinkertinkle, on 06/21/2009, -2/+8"A Pakistani artisan buffs a traditional handicraft at his workshop in Karachi, Pakistan on Monday, June 8"
That power buffer looks pretty traditional to me. - int10h, on 06/21/2009, -0/+6Call Alex Jones! The NWO must be behind it.
- ranga55, on 06/21/2009, -0/+5Now if only Forbes would follow this protocol...
- Linake, on 06/21/2009, -2/+7...and? Why did you put that in quotations?
- Meocross, on 06/21/2009, -0/+5If by simple pleasures you mean drinking water from a the junkyard then no thanks, i like my clean tap water just fine thank you.
- cowonwaffle, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4Somebody needs to go tell Africa.
- ranga55, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4Well, most of it, I guess. :/
- Linake, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3@Amnesiac & @ Soniti: He means the Japanese man looking AT the poster looks like Josh Brolin (as George Bush) ON the poster.
- Fogell, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3Fishing near a Nuclear Power Plant?
- Miyae, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3Good to have pictures about the more positive side of things for a change.
- AmnesiacJack, on 06/21/2009, -3/+6Considering it's for a movie poster called Bush based on Bush my guess Watson is that no, it was done on purpose.
- gdenne, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3Exactly what I was thinking...that's a slice of of Asia and Latin America.
- ThirdEyeFree, on 06/21/2009, -1/+4Yeah, screw this, I'm going to live with the Buddhist monks.
- gizmo12688, on 06/21/2009, -1/+3Life can be so simple and beautiful at times
- trousercustard, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2The guy slicing carrots is adding cigarette ash into the mix....
- tonydapony10, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2The kid just to the left of the one jumping in... has snot running down his lip...
overall, great piece. - LeanneOHare, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2Read: Traditional handicraft (as in the metal tray); not traditional buffer.
- thelostviking22, on 06/21/2009, -2/+4and by "around the world" they really mean the east, middle east and a couple parts of latin america.
- northernphoto, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2Nice pics. . . but they got nothing on the Boston Globe big picture. . .
- ladysherwood, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2I especially liked the one of the man in the park sleeping with his face in his hands. Even if he's really sleeping like the caption says, it was an emotional sort of picture.
- HBZ55, on 06/21/2009, -1/+3Because he believes Zionist propaganda.
- Velnich, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1It can't be. It just CAN'T.
- Pinkertinkle, on 06/21/2009, -1/+2Yah that visitor is actually a schoolgirl.
- Scarredfoe, on 06/21/2009, -3/+4If I had the money I would go see the places in person and not just pictures from my computer screen.
Saying that made me feel old and I'm only 19. - holyskeleton, on 06/21/2009, -2/+3I wish around here they have taco stands. that way people don't have to drive to a taco bell.
- njones16, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Beautiful...this really makes me miss my previous life as a professional photographer.
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1Why would that make you feel old. You have plenty of time. You think you life is over already? Wow. How optimistic.
- chaiwalla, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1Save your money and travel. That's what I did when I was your age and never regretted it. You can travel cheap in your twenties. I hitchhiked and stayed with people who picked me up and and found other vagabonds to stay with in squats. I took local buses, and cylced my way around and camped out rough. I did it on a lot less than it takes me just to live my day to day now.
- itsbob, on 06/21/2009, -1/+2Really? No pictures from the exciting Sacramento area?
- krwlngindark, on 06/21/2009, -1/+2Too many pics. Got bored.
- chickefitz, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1Andrew, thanks for finding this. My favorite is the first one. Amazing how over the decades, the AP always publishes the greatest photos!
- pault107, on 06/21/2009, -1/+2It's true. My life feels extremely boring after looking at those photos. I probably wouldn't survive very long if I had to switch places though.
- skipvt, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1It's the radiation that makes them good.
- dronex, on 06/21/2009, -0/+1Great photos indeed! When can I get my DSLR?
- Soniti, on 06/21/2009, -1/+1The poster is for the movie known as "W" here in America. It says on the poster that Josh Brolin is in it.
- itsbob, on 06/21/2009, -1/+1Ask you mommy
