- verysmartncool, on 02/01/2009, -0/+21I want a castle for myself too :)
- michaelpinto, on 02/01/2009, -0/+18I had my doubts from the exterior, but the interior shots of that place looks great — I can see why you'd want to shoot videos there.
- petard, on 02/02/2009, -0/+14"Property manager Jennie L. Grote already has booked a 1-year-old girl's birthday party. The child isn't from the area and will be flying in for the occasion, as will the guests, says Grote. The fee for the entire property for 24 hours is $25,000, and the girl's mother is far from the only one willing to pay it."
A $25,000 party for a 1-year-old? Really? - gbudavid, on 02/01/2009, -0/+13A theory?

- Vexion, on 02/02/2009, -0/+11I live a mile away from this castle, and pass it every time I have to head out west. It's been a fixture in the Lexington area for my entire life. And until a few years ago its ownership and intended purpose were perpetually in limbo. It seemed like it was sold every couple of years. Whenever someone brought it up in conversation, the talk inevitably turned to what -we- would do with it if we owned it.
For my money, I'd make it into an indoor laser tag and outdoor paintball arena. - Sonan, on 02/01/2009, -0/+9I've seen it from the road several times over the years, but I always figured the inside was cold and boring like most old castles. Glad to finally see inside!
- mmaine, on 02/01/2009, -0/+9I love seeing unexpected things in unexpected places.
- greenlight2001, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9Pretensiousness at its greatest.
- greenlight2001, on 02/02/2009, -0/+5Wrong story dude. You're look for the one about what video characters would taste. It's down the hall and to the left.
- sysadminBJ, on 02/02/2009, -0/+5That place is awesome! I drive by every day. It used to be my favorite part of the drive from Frankfort to Lexington when I was a kid. Glad to see it finally finished. Maybe they can have a discount day for all of the people who don't have $25,000 laying around.
- hillbillyboy07, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4This place is nuts, I've lived right near it my whole life and I have never seen inside of it. It looks better than I ever imagined.
- bob_the_alien, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4Ha, I live about an hour south of lexington, but I'm around that area at the very least a few times a month.
And of course everyone talks about this castle. And i have to say I agree wtih you, I play airsoft, and so many times, I've been like if only we could play on those grounds, what a great airsoft match we could have. - AmnesiacJack, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4I'd be selling tickets to the place.
- AmnesiacJack, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4I'm sorry but I've heard rumors she's actually in another castle.
- peestandingup, on 02/02/2009, -0/+3Thats if you rent out the entire place. You can stay there for $1K a night.

Settling once and for all that the "ruff" accent is indeed an American - or rather Kentuckian - one and not from Canada
- almightyrufus, on 02/02/2009, -0/+3I live just down the road, we were glad when someone actually did something with the castle. Until now the thing was a joke among the locals (still kind of is actually)
- teknotant, on 02/02/2009, -0/+3I have driven by this thing several times since I was a child. It really is weird to see a castle in the middle of Kentucky.
- inactive, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2Not many castles are rebuilt after any significant damage. Look up Bannerman Castle.....it is being weathered away.
- judahhertz, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2Nice find, pics should be bigger though.
- Claverhouse, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2With all the dreary buildings civilization has brought to the USA, it's good to see some people have the vision to create things worthwhile.
- inactive, on 02/02/2009, -2/+4I was expecting it to be more redneck.
Neat place though. It even has its own website: http://www.thecastlepost.com/ - hellosaysme, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2weird? it was always so badass when I was a kid.
- almightyrufus, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2in a Mountain Dew bottle or the potted plants
- Tazeeyore, on 02/02/2009, -0/+1I would love to own it. Wonder if they would sell it?
- TonyLocNE, on 02/02/2009, -0/+1Reported.
