- chaos7, on 08/01/2008, -0/+6Freedom tower is such a lame name
- benlebar, on 08/01/2008, -1/+7Sounds great... now where are the pictures?
- idreamnow, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5Cool Post~
- Scottievm, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5"The egg's cutting-edge bathrooms, for example, monitor each person's vital signs, such as blood pressure and weight—and forward the info to a physician if the numbers don't look good."
Probably does random drug testing too... - borez, on 08/01/2008, -0/+4Why is taking 10 years to construct the Freedom Tower?
- Genecalypse, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3um laser beams?
- appleseed1234, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4Whatever happened to the US building the coolest *****?
Paul Johnson said that despite all the new towers in Asia, America would surely step up to the plate. Even he told us that the new millennium would be cool! What the hell happened? - inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3I'd be a little nervous to walk into a sentient building.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3Actually, Chicago is building like mad. We have 7 buildings going up that 1000 feet or taller, and the Spire will be the tallest in the US at about 2000 feet. Google it
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3The greenest building is the one that is never built.
- meshman, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2"Freedom Tower
Where: New York, N.Y.
See it in: Fantasyland" - Fishnchipsman, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2why not 91101 feet tall?
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2Yeah Chicago has cranes all over the place, and also Miami of all palces is shooting up all sorts of skyscrapers.
New York City is unique... you really can't build many of these super-dooper-clusted**** tall buildings because of ordinances that were made so that people on the street woudl be able to see the light of day!!! the WTC was built when the financial district didn't have that many tall buildings (battery park city didn't even exist! the towers were next to the water!) the city already has 5,000 skyscrapers... enough is enough!!!
Another thing is, the city's infastructure simply can't handle buildings with 50,000 workers.... it's not like dubai in the middle of an endless desert, the bridges and tunnels to the island get older and more congested every day.
The buildings are just phallic symbols, it's ridiculous how much is wasted to build them when they don't need to be built. it'd be much wiser to build a corporate park in a small suburban city in upstate NY or jersey. - psevium, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2There's also the slight problem that that would stretch 2/3 of the way to the Moon
- TonyTheTerrible, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1I love reading about the green buildings being planned and executed for our near future :).
- benlebar, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Thanks... awful page formatting ftl. =/
- rz8472, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1The Freedom Tower's design is already, I'm sad to say, screwed up. The architect wanted a more slender and organic look to the building, while the property owner basically wanted a generic boxy office building (that would not be the symbolic 1776 feet) in order to eke out as much space as possible. Eventually the governor chose a 'hybrid' design that will be 1776 feet tall but only looked marginally better than the latter proposal.
- mrkmrk, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1...Mayor?
- ripple123, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Well at least there'll be a point on it when you wont be able to see the ground...
- RobotKeaton, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Or at least Smellivision.
- bluemidget1, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons with the homicidal house.
- PhYk3n, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1George W. Bush happened lol
- Oddog, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1i think they missed The World, in Dubai
- passedoutghost, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0Freakin'*
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0Gingerbread house!
- Luke1h7, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0Why 911911911 feet tall? America, ***** yea.
- jasonliman, on 08/01/2008, -1/+1One of the freedom tower is designed by a Jewish.
and I don't know what is wrong with you? - jatin24, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0http://www.worldarchitecturenews.com/index.php?fus ...

- magnusiax, on 10/01/2008, -0/+0You can see lots of nice attraction by cruise...
http://www.cruisevacationsworld.com - WhoDoneIt, on 08/01/2008, -1/+0You do realize you make no sense, right?
- WhoDoneIt, on 08/01/2008, -2/+0Because 91 thousand feet is a little tall. Thanks for coming out though.
- WhoDoneIt, on 08/01/2008, -2/+0Thanks for the explaination and stats.
I'm a Canadian, I've never placed a foot in NY City, but I hope whatever gets rebuilt there is something that shows just how proud, strong and united the US is and that every single person that lost their life that day was a hero. - WhoDoneIt, on 08/01/2008, -5/+1I think that The Freedom Tower should stand 1,911 feet, not the "symbolic 1,776 feet".
And EVERY single one of those stories have plaques engraved into the structure to remember those who lost their lives.
