If we last that long. - RickS2, on 01/18/2008, -0/+11Looks like Chicago has a lot of single women....where the hell are they?

edit: sorry, i didnt see that you already responded. - UberNick, on 01/18/2008, -0/+7Just saw a special exhibit of maps at the Field Museum in Chicago. It doesn't sound too exciting, but there were some mind-blowing pieces there. For instance, one map showed how to locate yourself between islands based on wake patterns. Another showed geography through symbolic beads. The ones showing California as an island were pretty interesting. My favorite were the old-time Christian maps showing the earth as flat and square, with four pointy corners! Just like the Bible says. No joke-- there were a slew of these maps with all kinds of fun drawings about what lurked at the edges and four corners of the earth.

Where is the map based on IQ average? - 1iProd, on 01/18/2008, -1/+7You forgot McArthur's map according to Australia!

MSN = Ikebukuro, Google = Shinjuku, YouTube = Shibuya, Adobe = Tokyo, Facebook = Otemachi, Yahoo = Ueno - disabled4diggin, on 01/18/2008, -2/+7In my basement.
- GemStar38, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6I like the Singles map. Makes me wonder if it is time to move?

- Ninnux, on 01/18/2008, -1/+3I love maps. Always have. I think my favorite map and data presentation is Napoleon's march to Waterloo, and getting his ass kicked.
- antipoet, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2If they were really clever, they would have color-coded the names of the cities on the singles map too. Having them all in blue is slightly confusing to this particular average fella.
- Halsfield, on 01/19/2008, -0/+1buried for tiny pics. full size please!
- donna1234, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Ever wonder what the world really looks like through someone else ’s eyes?

- WonderBoy55, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Not surprised that North America is the fattest country on the resource distribution map. Poor South America look emaciated and Africa is barely even there!
- TimmyOToole, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I see a lot of geeks in the Seattle area.
- Alex2, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Future World map is inaccurate.
Australia is on a course to run in to west coast of North America in a zillion years. - inactive, on 01/18/2008, -1/+1wow, haha, remind me to not go to california to pick up chicks.

- smek2, on 01/18/2008, -2/+1Offeat? I bet you couldn't wait to submit this story, but still, couldn't you take the second it takes to check your own headline. There's plenty of time to masterbate afterwards, don't worry.
- zydeco, on 01/18/2008, -4/+3Gotta get out of your mom's basement first.
- boozinf, on 01/18/2008, -1/+0Mmm.... Menver Omelet...
- bimtott, on 01/18/2008, -5/+2Some of these (like the first map) are frankly stupid ways to represent data. Let's distort a map so much so as to make it entirely irrelevant and incomprehensible.
Edward Tufte would kick your ass for designing something that worthless. - MasterThief117, on 01/18/2008, -6/+1Then you must live on the West Coast.
- mannaran, on 01/18/2008, -12/+4Singles Map -
