- acmaurer, on 06/17/2008, -5/+19Some of those areas underground are simply gorgeous!
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -0/+12If you've seen the real thing, it really doesn't do it justice.
Very large sections of the catacombs are walled with human bones:

There's 135 km of tunnels in there. Some are flooded caverns, some are chapels, some are for irrigation, it's ***** amazing. - inactive, on 06/18/2008, -8/+17Well it's not buried underground anymore 'cause I just DUGG IT UP!
- terminalcode, on 07/31/2008, -4/+12hehe, makes me want to trade jobs and have some serious fun...
then again exploring secret buildings looking for security issues is fun too... - giorgioarmani, on 06/18/2008, -0/+8Misleading title... the (More) part continues here: http://weburbanist.com/2008/04/30/7-more-undergrou ...
- wayyy, on 06/18/2008, -3/+9Buried as inaccurate. There's no mole people.
- louiebaur, on 06/18/2008, -4/+9That picture with all the skulls is pretty cool looking.
- Sherman901, on 06/18/2008, -1/+5haaaaa you're so witty
- yuanzhoulu, on 06/18/2008, -1/+5all the Budapest images are stolen from here

without any credit, naturally - Suits, on 06/18/2008, -1/+5Lies. These are the new maps for Half-Life 3.
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3I believe we have a TV show about this.....
- dangermouse4, on 06/18/2008, -1/+4Troglodytes unite!
- doctechnical, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3"What motivates humankind to burrow deep into the Earth?"
To get away from the rest of humankind? - AROZ, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3I just undugg and buried it for that.
- AussieCynic, on 06/18/2008, -1/+4Very cool.... I do love these old tunnels.... and caves and when think so many were made before tunneling tech it is remarkable they were able to acheive some of these amasing places..
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3Oh sure, only 7 € too.
I think it's the most amazing man-made place I've ever been to. And I've seen a lot of them. - BuckleButt, on 06/18/2008, -2/+4These comments are struggling.
- thebza451, on 06/18/2008, -2/+4what's with the tiny tiny pictures on this site? no links to bigger pics? ghey...
otherwise, very neat stuff - Soniti, on 06/19/2008, -0/+2How's that working out for you? You know, being clever..
- wrestlingnrj, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2No Cheyenne Mountain Complex?
- stabbingkittens, on 06/19/2008, -0/+2Unfortunately WebUrbanist wins no matter what. Click the link, visit their site and they get a hit for advertising fodder; they couldn't give a damn whether the digg article is buried to China or not. Always nice to have everything in one place though.
+1 for you - afromon11, on 06/18/2008, -1/+3If I only had a quarter for every time I have dugg this story in the past.
- jamessavik, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Notice that these pics are artificially lighted- they don't look exactly like the pictures.
- Zique, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2You know you're overtly patriotic when you have to include Disneyland tunnels with ancient catacombs and labyrinths just so your country could make the list.
- doctechnical, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1"Quiescat in Pace", in the words of Montressor
Is there still (legal) public access to the catacombs? It'd be a spooky but fascinating tour. - jamessavik, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1I love this kind of stuff. We may well find that living underground has its perks. While we spend untold billions in cash and non renewable fuels to heat and cool our homes, the temperature is a constant 60 degrees just a few feet underground.
- rivs, on 06/18/2008, -6/+7Is it wrong to digg something that is buried underground?
- zohaibusman, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Personally Like This one.........
London, England: The West Norwood Cemetery has a remarkable collection of historic monuments. Even more fascinating, however, are the catacombs below the chapel on site. - Hetman, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Actually what appears to be the ground level of disney is actually 1 story up.
The tunnels just appear to be underground. - kylemkupper, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1I've been to the cave in the Ozarks.
- krahzee, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2Saw a special on Disney once: the tunnels are not below ground, "ground level" is actually one story up. They did it because of the water table in that area being incredibly high.
- Slayer166, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1i live about an hour from the ozark caves been there to its gorgeuas
- gdha, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1These are amazing! I wonder of the extensive time and work this took!

- thecha, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1They didn't mention The Hypogeum in Malta. The entrance way is an underground temple carved before any of the pyramids were built in giza. There are tunnels that lead from the temple and go all over the island of malta.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/the_cha/tags/hypogeum ... - AROZ, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Ozarks also made the list, and it's in the U.S. But they should have followed it with ", United States" like they did with other countries.
- inactive, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Why don't you say something clever then, you ***** *****? Oh thats right, you can't, so you write unoriginal, regurgitated posts attacking other digg members.
- SteelChicken, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Dugg, because every budding evil genius needs ideas on how to build his underground lair of doom.
- gettarat, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Something you don't see everyday.
http://pyramidsofgiza.org/ - Sherman901, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1another winner!
- brianez21, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1That Disney one is kinda creepy :-/
- stustyle, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1I believe it's called Cities of the Underworld on the History Channel.
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1Somewhat sordid, but certainly worth taking a look at. I'm pretty sure if I stayed down there for about 6 seconds it would piss me off. I'd need porn.
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2Sher man, whatever you say.
