    There's 135 km of tunnels in there. Some are flooded caverns, some are chapels, some are for irrigation, it's ***** amazing.

    Is there still (legal) public access to the catacombs? It'd be a spooky but fascinating tour.

    The tunnels just appear to be underground.

  • thecha, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1They didn't mention The Hypogeum in Malta. The entrance way is an underground temple carved before any of the pyramids were built in giza. There are tunnels that lead from the temple and go all over the island of malta.
