at least its really uniquely shaped - Awwzm, on 10/01/2009, -0/+13Kowloon Walled City was where they had the Kumite in Bloodsport.
- Rudymoman, on 10/01/2009, -0/+10The Pod City looks insane.
- desuexmachina, on 10/01/2009, -0/+9Prypiat is in Europe, not Asia.
- hellengineer, on 10/01/2009, -0/+5imagine living in a pod and Hong Kong sure knows how to pack humans.
- MMusick, on 10/01/2009, -0/+5Never seen the Pyongyang hotel before. Amazing.
- PurpleD423, on 10/01/2009, -0/+5dugg for all on one page!
- directedition, on 10/01/2009, -1/+6The article is a little outdated I'm afraid. The Ryugyong Hotel has since restarted construction efforts (they have most of the windows installed anyway, so it's not so much of an eye-sore to the skyline) and I'm sure they're diverting tons of money set aside for feeding their starving masses to build this monstrosity that not more then people at a time with have a room in.

- xeno439, on 10/01/2009, -0/+4Submission of the week. Loved the pics and descriptions.
- rezilient, on 10/01/2009, -1/+4great article, wish the pictures were bigger though!
- Dailydose4me, on 10/01/2009, -0/+3Wondeful one,,
- inactive, on 10/01/2009, -0/+2You could've at least used a semicolon to seperate your two unrelated thoughts.
- rumbeef, on 10/01/2009, -0/+2If you like abandoned places you should check out http://www.artificialowl.net/
http://www.artificialowl.net/2008/05/visual-archiv ... - Ersh777, on 10/01/2009, -1/+3They've continued construction of the Ryugyong Hotel earlier this year so it's no longer abandoned. Safe? I don't know. With the concrete crumbling after 20 years exposed to the elements, you could not pay me to stay there.

And Kowloon Walled City was demo'd last decade. - Nyaos, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1Kowloon is definitely the coolest. I'd like to see a video game set there
- directedition, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryugyong_Hotel - A fantastic story of one of the most bonehead economic made by a government.
- strictnein, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1Yeah, weburbanist's layout sucks horribly. Small pictures with no larger version, tons of ads and other junk, super narrow content area, poor spacing between items on the list, etc etc.
- AgentRoyIV, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1Abandoned themeparks usually wind up reminding me of Silent Hill...
- IphtashuFitz, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1It was never considered a wonder, just a victim of the reactor accident.
- jtens, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1These weburbanist lists pop up on the front page every couple of weeks. I enjoy them every time. That Hong Kong one sounded crazy.

- bcpuron, on 10/02/2009, -0/+1I live in taiwan and have driven by the "pod city." It's not so much a city as a tiny development. Cool looking nonetheless.
- junyamint, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1That thing would have been pretty awesome looking. Too bad their government can't really get anything done and is all around terrible.
- swagv, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1They published an abandoned cities piece last month. Are they going continent by continent to do the online equivalent of the "clips show"?
- Jakeman21co, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1N Korea is totally trying to compensate for something with that massive hotel.
- mousky, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1That has to be one of the worst designed websites.
- Greengoo, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1Pripyat is the city outside Chernobyl, and it's not technically abandoned.
http://digg.com/travel_places/A_Tour_of_Chernobyl_ ... - Idonteven, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1shut up
- hokiedan99, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1its not going to be a hotel though. I believe someone said its being reclad by a mobile communications company,
interesting nonetheless! - ShiftyBizniss, on 10/01/2009, -0/+1agreed... and apparently, Pyongyang is the only city in North Korea according to our friends at Google:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q& ... - tekm, on 10/01/2009, -0/+0You should try Shenmue 2.
- syntaxgs, on 10/01/2009, -6/+6 uh where the Chernobil vilage,,, it abadon many year ago,,
- rhoonah, on 10/01/2009, -1/+0take it easy... silly orientals
- phosho, on 10/01/2009, -3/+0Please stop calling Asia or Asians "oriental" We have never or ever will refer to ouselves as oriental. It was a label that the europeans used to describe us and it is not PC nowadays.
