- dvsbastard, on 08/07/2008, -2/+20All I got was the haunting ruins of what was once a server...
- WordsnCollision, on 08/06/2008, -0/+11Ruins like these are often all that's left of a formerly thriving civilization - is our own destined for the same fate?
- jebaird, on 08/06/2008, -0/+7its odd how much beauty emerged out of so much destruction
- pagemap, on 08/07/2008, -0/+6This is the 21st century... come on people run your web server on something more than a 486.

- ivansusanin, on 08/07/2008, -1/+4zing!
- Labyrinth336, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3those pictures are the bomb
- futurepro9, on 08/07/2008, -3/+6Is it just me, or does this happen to everyone. Every time I really want to see something, it never works. Then I get some of the page loaded, but the pictures don't load all the way. And of course the refresh button doesn't help at all.
- Typhoon2009, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3Well you could connect some of the Vietnam photos to old McCain in some way I"m sure.
- NuclearDruid, on 08/07/2008, -2/+5What the ***** are you on about? These pictures have nothing to do politically today, and yet you use it for a political attack. Save it for somewhere else, honestly...
- topgigmedia, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3weburbanist.com should stop bothering attempting to host items that are posted on Digg.... After 20 viewers it is down EVERY time.
- robertnealan, on 08/07/2008, -1/+2Dugg for weird grammar and awkward sentence structure.
- richardk138, on 08/07/2008, -1/+2Yep all thats left is the ruins of their server LOL! They weren't prepared for the power of digg!

But the layout was almost painful and the grammar/spelling were total *****. I hate to sound like a grammar nazi, because I'm not, but if you're not going to proofread your article at least use a ***** spell checker. Jesus tap-dancing Christ!
- baldwin90, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1you fail.
- gllopc, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1I love the beach!
- cambob76, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Yes.
- CrushThemTorg, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0That's it. I'm going to bomb Varosha into vapor if I see it once more on the internet.
- behemothzero, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0Why is "Talisay City" even there? I'm from the Philippines, and I'm pretty sure everyone will agree that Corregidor Island is more "haunting".

The mile-long barracks is especially haunting. - BrewBeau, on 08/07/2008, -1/+1Probably not. Those old buildings were built to last.
- drpunkerz, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0*drum drum*, *crash*
- Lucifugerising, on 08/07/2008, -1/+1The word haunting is thrown around alot these days,
a haunting masterpiece...
a book that will haunt you for years to come...
Frans vagina was truely haunting...
Haunting of the century...
I'm thankful to say these pics actually deserve such a title. - jamesdew, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0Beelitz Hospital looks remarkably like a counterstrike level, the third image especially. I can't remember what the map was called though, anyone?
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -4/+4200 Diggs and a down server. Are you kidding me?
- AlphaFreak, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0There is a place in Spain called Belchite; it is a village wich was completely destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. It was left in that condition as a remainder of how ***** bad wars are:
http://www.margencero.com/belchite/indice.htm
(in spanish, BTW). - TomJohn, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0"...Past and Presents"? lmfao
- gbates31, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0You'd be surprised what's considered beautiful in a war zone. It's a whole different universe,
- quii, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0My Chemical Romance called, they want thier lyrics back.

- tradderjohn, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0well just found out about The masion in Barboursville, I guess i could now travel the 20 minutes to see it. thanks digg
;)) - graahBrains, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0so how many blogger points are you getting for that?
- dwright99, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0They could have included Detroit, but there was no war there.
- AriaGloris, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0Yes, Its just like the time a car fell on my face.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0hahahaha Jesus tap-dancing Christ!
never heard of that one, but it made me laugh. - thedinomeister, on 08/07/2008, -0/+05 years from now we'll be saying "3,000 diggs and down already?"
i have contributed nothing, move along. - KelticKal, on 08/08/2008, -0/+0Odd that there are no pictures from Ireland. There are ruins everywhere from the 1000 years of British genocide. Talk about MSM covering up atrocities. Its time to start the real peace process by removing the murdering limeys from Ireland for good either vertically or horizontally!
Tiocfaidh ar la!! - thedinomeister, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0[rant]
when was the last time the Turks did anything good for their neighbors? clearly they have a long and distinguished history of invasions, violence, and even large scale genocide (armenians, greeks, kurds- to name a few) . and it's not like Verosha was from 200 years ago, it's from 1974. Since then more ***** has happened. They are threatening to wipe out all the kurds "out of self defense", denying airspace while simultaneously violating others', "testing boundaries", and "accidentally shooting down multi-million dollar fighter jets of neighboring nations".
Turkey ftw, NOT.
[/rant] - graahBrains, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0Nice find. I'd love to see more of the large building in Kabul.
- Homerr, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0Oradour-sur-Glane - French town destroyed by SS, 642 killed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oradour-sur-Glane - bemenaker, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0I want to dive Truk Lagoon. I have talked to people who have, and it sounds like an incredible dive.
- bbrassi, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0What they didn't say about Point du Hoc is that when the Rangers got to the top they found that all of the guns had been replaced by telephone poles. Nuts...
- redscofield, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0"Hiroshima was of course the site of the first use of an atomic bomb in anger"
WHAT?!? - jerwin, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0Well, Yobama is being hoisted as the great answer to all of our problems no matter how great or small, so I am just reinforcing the point. According to his followers, there is nothing he won't solve, nothing he can't fix and he is the great hope and change.
I get sick of the media hyping this guy, so maybe my making others sick of me making absurd points about what the great mesiah brings to the table helps keep the universe in balance.
On the other hand, he does have, like, 140 or so days of experience in national politics, so maybe he CAN solve everything....
Just saying.... - halexmar6, on 08/07/2008, -2/+1Just reminds me of houses I see when i drive past the "wrong neighborhood" .
- readacook, on 08/07/2008, -1/+0Dugg for good photos and info, but sweet mama the presentation was bad.
- bullioncube, on 08/07/2008, -6/+4Ah Yes, a blank gray wall is all that war leaves for us, it destroys all and leaves desolation. I hope a true leader like Obama can lead us to change to prevent these things from happening. War only leaves blank gray ruins for us to ponder...
Oh wait, that's the page not loading
