- TalSiach, on 01/24/2008, -1/+9wow this is amazing! i cant even make a little castle in the sand
- plinky, on 01/24/2008, -0/+7Some folk have just got too much time on their hands! Great art though, shame it gets washed away eventually...
- redsfaithful, on 01/24/2008, -0/+6One thing that was left out (although I might have missed it) was the length of time it took to build any of these things. It has to take an insane amount of time I would think, to attempt one of these monsters.
It's really incredible the amount of dedication needed to do something like this that you know will only last for a few weeks at most. - djrbx, on 01/24/2008, -0/+6I've been to Boracay Island, Philippines a few times and I have to admit, it is a place worth visiting at least once in your life. No matter how hot it is outside, the water is always perfect (even in the middle of the night) and the sand never gets hot.
- natdowner, on 01/24/2008, -0/+5Ok mushy moment... Dugg for the 'Will You Marry Me' sand castle. *end mushy moment*

- MyDiggIsBig, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2life is like sand. beautiful, if you sculpt it the right way, but just another mound of dirt for people to walk on if fallen into the wrong hands.
- RJGII, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Here's another:

This is the Dom, a church in Utrecht, Netherlands; how it appeared before a storm wrecked its mid section dividing the tower from the main area. - satanguy, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1anyone else freaked out by 'Church, Fraser Valley' (the one with the heads on the ends of fingers)??
- metroidragon, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Also from Vancouver, right near Harrison and although it doesn't rain 360 days of the year (probably only 150+ realisticly) it's still surprising that those lasted long enough to be completed.
- JFBP4991, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Very impressive. Way better than I could ever do.
And then the tide comes in...... - bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the tip. Cheers
- bosssmiley, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1The fact it's ephemeral is, at least IMO, part of the reason sand sculptures are so cool.
Number 8 "Castle to the SUN" FTW! - kidal25, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1And I thought my sand castles that had a moat were bad ass.
- LooseSeal, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1One of my earliest memories:
I was a little toddler, in a crowd of people, and my family and I were watching some guy build a sand sculpture of Jesus laying down. It was a really nice sculpture. For some reason I decided it'd be funny to throw a shell at it, so I did, and the shell landed on the sculpture and the guy looked at me furiously, as did the other people in the crowd. That's it. I don't remember the rest. I wish I did.
Maybe it was all a dream? - Vostok, on 01/24/2008, -0/+0and all of the people, can i get an amen!!
- kospa, on 01/24/2008, -0/+0I wish I have patience of these creators!
