- uselessaccount2, on 09/08/2008, -3/+12I`m not a fan of women tennis, but congratulations to Serena, she earned it.
- Vikaas, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6The competitions in the women's side is just a little bit sparse right now, especially with Henin retired. Blake and Roddick in no way choked, they're just in a league that currently has a lot of incredible players.
- Kelmon, on 09/08/2008, -1/+6Drat. I was really hoping that Jankovic would win, which would have made for a nice change.
- uselessaccount2, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4If Henin hadn`t retired, she`d have another US Open under her belt.
- larissa13, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3I was pulling for Jelena last night. She really played well, she gave Serena a hard run last night. Jelena has great ground strokes and was able to stay with Serenas power serves. She had her chances but couldnt convert those break points.
- Vikaas, on 09/08/2008, -3/+6The score looks close, but that was not a close match. I wish Henin hadn't retired, she was women's tennis' only great finesse player right now.
- compulsive1, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Idiotic comment. Venus hit a few shots on set points that just missed and also had a near ace serve that barely touched the net and had to be replayed. Venus (or anyone else for that matter) is not that precise to "act out" a near loss. If she were that precise, she would have 15 slams to her name by now.
Serena toughed it out, just like she toughed out the second set last night. - anshuman, on 09/08/2008, -4/+6yes, he really was on his A game.
- compulsive1, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2Miami 08. Serena beat Henin 6:2 6:0. She also beat Jankovic in the finals of that tournament (in 3 sets), so don't be so sure.
- corona10, on 09/19/2008, -0/+0Everyone of you should be ashamed for those comments.
- identifiedlogo, on 09/08/2008, -2/+2It was insane....Both of them looked insane!!
- uselessaccount2, on 09/08/2008, -4/+3I know you`re joking (I hope so anyway), but she wouldn`t even be in the top hundred if she was competing with the men. Congratulations to her anyway though.
I wish Henin didn`t quit though, because this tournament would have been much more interesting with her in it. After Henin quit womens tennis has become quite boring. - ericdano, on 09/08/2008, -4/+3I love it when a man beats a woman........wait.........she's a woman...........what?
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -1/+0You, sir, are high, and for that I excuse your analysis. They have done it before and will do it again.
- Medicamusic, on 10/28/2008, -2/+1Screw all of you, those bitches are HUGE.
- Darkseit, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1We like this one better though because the title exemplifies yet another instance of serbia getting pimped by US.
- uruururr, on 09/08/2008, -3/+1i respectfully disagree. henin, while obviously good, was a tremendous bore to watch because she dominated. this was the best womens final in years because it was finally an intense close match. watching a grand slam final that ends in 45 minutes 6-2 6-1 is whats boring.
henin, like clijsters, was stupid to retire (at 25?? ridiculous) but i am very glad she is gone. - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -6/+2Well, you can thank Venus for tanking in the quarters so that Serena could get to number one again. Sisterly love--straight outta Compton.
- OJDidIt, on 09/09/2008, -4/+0What is more surprising here? The fact that some Serb sucks at life or that an Ape just won the US Open?
- fakeplasticsnow, on 09/08/2008, -8/+3Buried as dupe, my story on this was submitted 10 minutes earlier.
http://digg.com/tennis/Serena_Williams_beats_Janko ... - Medicamusic, on 10/28/2008, -12/+3Those Williams sisters are terrifying.
- dvsbastard, on 09/08/2008, -14/+3I think it would a lot more fair if Serena was competing in the mens tournament...
Congratulations to her anyway!
(Please don't beat me Ms Williams) - ucdbunny, on 09/08/2008, -13/+2Go William sisters, way to represent America!! (unlike the chokesters blake and roddick)
- coopaloop, on 09/08/2008, -19/+3Let's keep the Williams sisters bashing to a minimum. We know Serena's overweight and ugly, but she dominated this tournament and she deserves some credit.
