- Chicken, on 09/07/2008, -0/+13I hope federer wins this one. One handed backhanders FTW!
- jec68, on 09/07/2008, -2/+13Murray was in complete control of the match prior to the delay... he will win for sure.
Also I think Murray wears his shirts too big and his facial hair too trashy. - zerobriers, on 09/06/2008, -1/+12Federer Nadal, Federer Nadal, Federer Murray?
Nadal is down two sets. - chaos7, on 09/07/2008, -0/+9I want Federer to win, although I like Nadal too.
- icebrk, on 09/07/2008, -0/+8Although the Swiss wonder still dominated the court, I'm sad Djokovic had to put up with the crowd at the U.S. Open, he was clearly distracted. As a New Yorker I know heckling is practically a past-time, but seeing that in Tennis made me feel embarrassed about my home town. Maybe if Djokovic was in a better mood we could've seen some more of his brilliant impersonations!
- Omek, on 09/07/2008, -0/+6I think Federer/Murray would be an awesome match. I think Murray can win it.
- RowersAlmanac, on 09/07/2008, -0/+5I don't think Davydenko or Roddick have any more right to more coverage. Davydenko is still very much in the sights for what could be a gambling scandal, and while Roddick has a heart, I always felt unpleasantly that he was the biggest bully on the tennis court. He loves to mock other players, and when they try to fight back, he was just 'joking'. I remember watching a match between Roddick and Djokovik where Roddick just tore into him during an informal break in the match mercilessly. Roddick's the popular kid in the proverbial high-school, and people like Djokovik don't know how to handle it.
If we're talking tennis skills or determination for determining who determines coverage, Djokovik is one of the hardest working and best players out there, obviously - he's world number three. - Vikaas, on 09/07/2008, -1/+6I'm still going to call a Federer-Nadal final. Nadal may be down 2 sets right now against Murray, but with the rain delay, he can easily switch momentum to his favor. As for the final, I'd rather see Federer take it again, but I think Nadal's going to run away with this one too.
- TCKC2C, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4Federer won a gold medal in doubles. Nadal won THE gold medal.
- vafada, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3Novak is 21, give him a break.
In the heat of the moment, Roddick making fun of him and the crowd heckling him, I understand why he said those thing in front of the crowd. Everyone was against him, and him winning the game, its his turn to fight back, not really the best move I might have done the same thing if that happened to me. - nandasunu, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3He's Scottish... they're a wild bunch.
- RowersAlmanac, on 09/07/2008, -1/+4This is a silly reason to not like a player, but I honestly don't like Murray just because he seems to treat the ball boys like *****. Whenever I see someone throw their towel on the ground instead of tossing it to one of them, I get a little pissed off.
- cheung3305, on 09/07/2008, -3/+6One thing is certain, Federer is back.
- DeQuinceysDiet, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3Davydenko is neither fantastic nor is deserving of more coverage than Djokovic. Anyone who says so has no tennis knowledge whatsoever.
Denko is just a chaser, using his legs to get one ball back after another, waiting for his opponent's error. And a points-mounter, playing damn near every week to maximize his ranking, like his countryman Kafelnikov before him. Never a real threat to win any major, the best he can hope for is getting his ranking high enough to avoid any of the big boys early in a tourney, allowing him to maybe get to a quarter or, at best, a semi. Plus he tanks in Wimbledon every year. Plus he was either initimidated by the Russian mob into throwing a match, or he threw one due to greed.
Djokovic on the other hand is already a champion, defeating Fed in this year's Aussie, getting to last year's Open final, a firm #3 in the world, and a guy with many days of trophy-hoisting in his future. - Stavrosian, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3He's not. Meet him away from a tennis court and he's a funny, personable guy. On court he just doesn't give a ***** what anybody thinks of him as long as he's winning, and in interviews he'd just rather not be there.
- mattyd12466, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3GO MURRAY!
- NecroSexy, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3Stupid, stupid rain!
- cyphin6, on 09/07/2008, -1/+4Vamos Rafa!
- rkho, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3You should go play then. I'd love to see Azohko vs. Federer :D
- RowersAlmanac, on 09/07/2008, -1/+4I think Djokovik showed his fire when he decided to strike back at Roddick. Unfortunately, the guy isn't exactly socially gifted, and he doesn't know how to handle either the microphone or the crowd, so things got a little out of control. I absolutely hate when people obnoxiously yell during a serve - support your player, but not like that.
- swraman, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2go roger!
too bad about nadal, i was looking forward to another epic one. - Pramma, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2but he's up abreak in the third
- zazzalicious, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2oops.
- TCKC2C, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2I see Murray pulling through over Nadal coming back. Not by much though, probably 60/40 for Murray. If today starts as yesterday did, they'll be no question on a Federer/Murray final.
- Wynner3, on 09/07/2008, -1/+3I love watching Nadal beat Federer and all but three times in a row? Come on. I was really hoping for a Djokovic and Nadal final. Oh well.
- fascfoo, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2He might have been playing well prior to the delay, but there's a reason why players want to keep the momentum going: Nadal can easily rally back if he composes himself.
- TCKC2C, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2I dunno about the Federer prediction, Murray does have a 2-1 winning record against him. That said those matches weren't in best of five sets matches, so it might as well be a new ball game.
- shawn1122, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2I'm very sure that Nadal will come back after the rain delay in 5 sets. In tennis, almost all matches turn around after a rain delay especially after one person is being beat down badly. Nadal can go home now, talk to uncle toni about what Murray is doing that is bothering him, figure out what to do etc etc. When you are out there by yourself getting beat down by a guy, usually things are going so fast that you don't have time to stop and think. With this rain delay, Nadal can come in with a new strategy and he can also tell himself that he'll only lose while playing and trying his absolute best. Anyways, Nadal is known for his mental toughness, and the pressure will be on Murray to maintain the level he produced yesterday. Murray has been known to crumble under pressure, so I think Nadal will be able to come through.
All credit to Murray though, he is a brilliant strategist and can spot weaknesses in all his opponents. He has, what we would call, a mind made for tennis. In spite of all of this though, I don't think he is ready for a grand slam final yet, next year will probably be his first shot. - vancanucksfan, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2theres no way in hell nadal is gonna come back and beat murray. I pick federer winning it all in the end.
- mushtakrakish, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1Doubles is the superior way to play tennis.
- bonshepherd, on 09/07/2008, -2/+3Was gutted the rain stopped the Nadal vs Murray match.
- dannyboy3020, on 09/07/2008, -2/+3Andy Murray seems like a complete ***** in general.
- fuze44, on 09/07/2008, -2/+3Anyone else think this was a new keyboard layout?
- rkho, on 09/07/2008, -2/+3The ***** are you talking about? Nadal won the gold medal.
- Twoje, on 09/07/2008, -2/+2Ugh, why? I really dislike Djokovic. Sure, he's a great player, but I'm not a big fan of his attitude. Not as bad as Roddick's, but it's still bad. Federer, on the other hand, has great sportsmanship, as does Nadal.
That being said, Federer's going to have his hands full against either of the two. - john2kx, on 09/07/2008, -3/+3You like tight shirts on guys, huh.
- Pramma, on 09/07/2008, -2/+2how is that *certain*?
- SirChavez, on 09/07/2008, -4/+4For so long, it felt like Federer was invincible on the court. I find it more enjoyable now, in a way, to watch him succeed now that he's fallen from the #1 spot and seems more human. On a side note, I'm glad he defeated Djokovic, who is a bit too brash for my taste and seems to act like a jerk when the crowd doesn't get behind him.
- homercles337, on 09/07/2008, -3/+2Man, i hate Nadal. I really do.
- mushtakrakish, on 09/07/2008, -2/+1you're right. 3 finals and a semifinal in the majors, plus an olympic gold medal. what a ***** year.
- theexitwound, on 09/07/2008, -4/+3I can't stand Djokovic. He can dish it out by making fun and impersonating other players, but when Roddick makes one little joke, he whines about it. His ball bouncing and time violations are obnoxious as a spectator. I can only hope for the sport that one of his injuries causes him to drop out so that the other fantastic players who deserve more coverage (such as Roddick, Murray, Davydenko) get their shot on television for a title.
I don't mind who wins, at this point. I love watching Roger, and Nadal is absolutely deserving of his #1 ranking. Murray's the underdog here and coming this far, would be a fun sight to see on top. - mattyd12466, on 09/07/2008, -3/+1I would love Murry to win.....But.....while I know he can do it I just dont think he will on this weekend.
will he beat Nadal 50/50
will he beat Federer 70/30 in Federer favour - seamustry, on 09/07/2008, -5/+2sucks for murray...nadal will come back strong after rain delay...
