- deddoc, on 01/12/2009, -8/+481perhaps because Fox likes to cancel good shows. See: Futurama, Family Guy, Firefly.
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -3/+464I don't know why they said no one watched the show...there were dozens of us. DOZENS!
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -9/+393FOX were a bunch of chickens, clucka choo clucka choo clucka choo clucka choo
- MMusick, on 01/12/2009, -5/+316Amen, Mrs. Featherbottom!
- johndajap56, on 01/13/2009, -2/+295They made a HUGE MISTAKE
- brandonchicago, on 01/12/2009, -4/+215Thank YOU David Cross...and might I say...nice rack.
- ryan83189, on 01/13/2009, -5/+2121. Broadcasters are dumb.
2. Arrested development was a more intelligent humor, that did not simply deliver gag after gag (see family guy) and had too many inside jokes and self references for a normal, viewer to follow. It's just like futurama. - Newswiseguy, on 01/12/2009, -5/+176has anyone on digg ever even seen a chicken?
- PDAIsAOk, on 01/13/2009, -1/+167clucka choo? Dont you mean
Cah-kakah Cah-kakah, or Chaw Chee Chaw Chee, or Acoodledoodledoo, or CooCoo kahchaw - tooldork, on 01/12/2009, -3/+159One of the few shows that made me laugh out loud - every episode
- Vandal124, on 01/12/2009, -2/+151I hope the AD movie doesn't fall through. I will do anything for an AD movie. Even if i means taking a chubby, i will suck it up.
- RAEP, on 01/13/2009, -8/+145Actually I believe the reason it was canceled is because the average American TV viewer is too ***** retarded to understand their brand of humour. I miss this show so much :\ After the third time through one longs for new episodes.
- bigpallooka, on 01/13/2009, -2/+134The real reason shows like this don't get a large following is because the IQ of Joe Average demands a laugh track so they can identify a joke.
- lamejoketeller, on 01/13/2009, -1/+117Oh Tobias. You blow-hard.
- rukeypoo, on 01/13/2009, -8/+95Freaks and Geeks. Undeclared!
- reyesz, on 01/12/2009, -7/+91So true. I didnt't know about this show till this summer.
Now it's over and I can't see it on tv. *****. - benjeye, on 01/13/2009, -0/+74Those inside jokes are what make it so great to rewatch. I could rewatch all three seasons every month and still enjoy it, because it'd pick up new things.
- SubEl, on 01/12/2009, -4/+75If not for House, Fox would be all but obsolete in my book, and even House is edging dangerously close to self-important, over dramatic ER territory. Cheers to David Cross for trying, but a network like Fox has neither the interest nor the capacity to make a show like AD work in the long run. It should have been on HBO from the jump.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HE GETS ME EVERYTIME!!! - zero, on 01/13/2009, -45/+99I wish Fox would cancel Family Guy
- zjbird, on 01/13/2009, -17/+71I miss Firefly the most :'-(
- andre321, on 01/13/2009, -0/+53I really miss Farrested Development
- Newswiseguy, on 01/12/2009, -0/+52you can see it on hulu. or get the DVDs.
- mynameisjudge, on 01/13/2009, -3/+54My name is Judge.
- DillingerSmooth, on 01/13/2009, -4/+55THE saddest day ever when they canceled Arrest Development.......can't wait for the movie. And I wouldn't blame marketing I would blame America who keeps shows like Everyone Loves Raymond on the air
- benjeye, on 01/13/2009, -1/+51Watching some now (3.08).
Bob Loblaw Law Blog, wow, you sir are a mouth full. - zdiddy85, on 01/13/2009, -15/+64Agreed. Family Guy became unfunny years ago.
- humperdinck, on 01/13/2009, -1/+50PETER: Everybody, I've got bad news. We've been cancelled.
LOIS: Oh no! Peter, how could they do that?
PETER: Well, unfortunately, Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel; Titus; Undeclared; Action; That 80's Show; Wonderfalls; Fastlane; Andy Richter Controls the Universe; Skin; Girls Club; Cracking Up; The Pitts; Firefly; Get Real; FreakyLinks; Wanda At Large; Costello; The Lone Gunmen; A Minute With Stan Hooper; Normal, Ohio; Pasadena; Harsh Realm; Keen Eddie; The Street; American Embassy; Cedric the Entertainer; The Tick; Louie; and Greg the Bunny.
LOIS: Is there no hope?
PETER: Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot... - rukeypoo, on 01/13/2009, -2/+50There are just so many poorly chosen words in that sentence.
- e8989, on 01/13/2009, -1/+48I'm sure David Cross would take a banger in the mouth for Arrested Development to be back on
- Newswiseguy, on 01/12/2009, -1/+47oh no, the Home Builders' Organization wouldn't want anything to do with the Bluth Company.
- NegativeONE, on 01/13/2009, -2/+47I've never seen someone command such respect in drag.
- Portezbie, on 01/13/2009, -1/+42Marketing was definitely a large part of it, but Arrested Development was also canceled for the simple reason that the people who provide data for Nielsen ratings are too stupid for something as amazing as arrested development.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+40And you're gonna cancel the show with a man wearing a $2000 suit? COME ON!
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+38always sunny
- Newswiseguy, on 01/12/2009, -0/+38Her?
- SquigglyP, on 01/13/2009, -0/+36Which is basically the same reason Firefly got cancelled as well, except FOX went the extra mile with Firefly and actually aired the thing out of order. Go FOX.
- reyoo30309, on 01/12/2009, -2/+38If they just turned that into their commercial, it would have saved the show.
- Chebsi, on 01/13/2009, -0/+34CHICKENS DON'T CLAP!
- fightingforair, on 01/13/2009, -5/+38Why was it canceled?
Because American's don't have the attention span for it. A show that requires some intelligent thinking.
What survives?
Annoying shows that have gross humor every 5 seconds. (i.e. American Dad, Family Guy, etc.)
Laugh Track stupid drama/romance shows. (take your pick).
Bring back good television! ***** the masses! - dext3r, on 01/13/2009, -0/+30I guess it's Showtime. We'll put on some kind of show at the dinner.
- benjeye, on 01/13/2009, -0/+30FOX and good TV shows? a-koodle-doodle doo!
- Hraes, on 01/13/2009, -8/+37Why would you want to see it on TV? Why would you ever want to see anything on TV?
- Andrewbot, on 01/13/2009, -1/+29I'll see you at the convention then.
