- eastwood24, on 11/02/2009, -6/+9230 Rock needs a Hasselholf cameo.
- Falldog, on 11/02/2009, -5/+75Many comedies don't translate well between cultures. Especially ones that Americans (apparently, as indicated by above comments) have difficulty understanding.
- commodore64, on 11/03/2009, -10/+71Too many jews on 30 Rock maybe?
too soon? - mkriss5681, on 11/03/2009, -4/+60This might be the worst thing Germany has ever done.
- alanocu, on 11/02/2009, -10/+58I don't see the cast of 30 rock losing too much sleep over this news.
- colincornaby, on 11/03/2009, -0/+37The best part of this is you know they're going to reference this on the show...
- inactive, on 11/03/2009, -1/+36Yeah...having lived in Germany it's easy to comprehend. Cultural senses of humor vary VASTLY and many jokes are lost in translation. Just look at the difference between British and American humor....there's not even a language barrier there.
- ksalminen, on 11/03/2009, -1/+35An American comedy about an American company shown in a country that isn't America failed? Impossible!
- tsunami643, on 11/03/2009, -2/+33And especially one that takes place in NYC and contains an incredible number of specific NYC cultural references.
- Snuffs, on 11/03/2009, -2/+30The United Nations initiated a poll with the request, "Please tell us your honest opinion about the lack of food in the rest of the world." The poll was a total failure. The Russians did not understand "Please". The Italians did not know the word "honest". The Chinese did not know what an "opinion" was. The Europeans did not know "lack", while the Africans did not know "food". Finally, the Americans didn't know anything about the "rest of the world".
- nerddtvg, on 11/03/2009, -2/+30He said "a Baldwin" not just Alec Baldwin. So he is correct.
- kss42, on 11/03/2009, -2/+26Correct, her rating in Germany is less than three.
- Jeezoflip, on 11/03/2009, -11/+34<3 Tina Fey <3
- Sux4Bux, on 11/03/2009, -3/+21Comedy just does not cross cultures well.
- waydee, on 11/03/2009, -0/+16What is it with diggers and not understanding sarcasm?
- danwallace, on 11/03/2009, -16/+32Please tell me you don't honestly think 30 Rock is so cerebral that anyone who doesn't like it obviously doesn't get it. I get it. I get what they're going for. I just don't think Tina Fey or most of the supporting cast is all that funny.
- Mateo2, on 11/03/2009, -0/+15and we have a winner.
- Quaestor44, on 11/03/2009, -1/+15wow
- dutchguilder2, on 11/03/2009, -2/+1630 Rock is at least twice as funny to anyone who has worked for General Electric, because the Jack Donaghy character behaves exactly like real life GE executives.
- ELCad, on 11/03/2009, -1/+13I'm American and love some British sitcoms. Ideal is current and is awesome. From the past I liked Blackadder, The Young Ones, and Hallo Hallo, I think Mr Bean was pretty popular he as well. And for non-sitcoms: Python, The Comic Strip and French and Saunders were all really good as well.
The last time and only time I was in the UK, one of the most popular comedy show was Moonlighting, - JSleek, on 11/03/2009, -0/+11WHOOSH!
- cawfee, on 11/03/2009, -0/+10It's all in the translations and re-dubs. Great classic comedies in English are poorly translated into German and lose all their charm. Been on both ends, and very rarely was a great comedy (even something "simple" like Ice Age) carried over well enough to retain all or even some of its appeal.

- paulvq, on 11/03/2009, -2/+11Some people find stuff funny that's unfunny to other people. That's all he's saying.
- Synn, on 11/03/2009, -1/+10Hear that everyone? THE JitMaster isn't going to be watching 30 Rock. I think we can all agree that this was important information for him to share with all of us.
- dogfood, on 11/03/2009, -1/+9They shouldn't have put it on opposite the David Hasselhoff variety hour.
- 600Burger, on 11/03/2009, -3/+11Must be a mix up with "kaufen" and "verkaufen".
- ThaDRD, on 11/03/2009, -4/+12Curb Your Enthusiasm is the best comedy on TV right now.
- DephexTwin, on 11/03/2009, -0/+8Just to throw a little wrench into the logic of it all... back when I was a student there in 1999, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was extremely popular. Who would have guessed it?
- nerddtvg, on 11/03/2009, -5/+12No language barrier? Have you tried watching some BBC America shows? I'm usually good at understanding them, but there are times I have to pause and think about it...
- cryonix, on 11/03/2009, -1/+8http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_humour
- TsuruchiBrian, on 11/03/2009, -2/+8Germans were busy playing board games that night. They should give it another chance.
How do we know they won't like it? Apparently they didn't even watch it. - danwallace, on 11/03/2009, -1/+7"Especially ones that Americans (apparently, as indicated by above comments) have difficulty understanding."
That doesn't seem to be what he's saying. - tidu, on 11/03/2009, -0/+6the current season of 30 rock got off to a rocky start, but this past week's episode was fantastic. Although I will agree community has been consistently good.
- mikhasw, on 11/03/2009, -3/+9What do you think the Digg/Bury system is for if not to Digg things you agree with and Bury things you don't?
- elliotys, on 11/03/2009, -0/+5Jeezus feezus.
- Goatfacekilla, on 11/03/2009, -3/+8I really like 30 Rock but lately the episodes haven't been as funny as they were in the first season, TBH I am finding community to be much funnier, Ahbed is hilarious.
- swagv, on 11/03/2009, -12/+16Go Germany.
- zephc, on 11/03/2009, -0/+4That's not funny, that's just frightening
- ByteGuerilla, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3I'm Jack Donaghy... I just bought the moon.
- KMartSheriff, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3It's hard for 12 year old YouTube commenters to see the sarcasm.
- nerddtvg, on 11/03/2009, -1/+4Not like this is going to change anything.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3Did they use the same name for the show? Wouldn't that sound like "30 skirts" in German? If so, maybe they thought it was a sitcom set in a drycleaning place.
- sonder, on 11/03/2009, -0/+3It's not that no one liked 30 rock, it's the fact that no one watches that channel anyway. They had no money for advertising outside of their own network, so...nobody farking knew about it.
- lexman098, on 11/03/2009, -1/+4Best 30 minute show on TV right now? It's Always Sunny is way funnier than 30 Rock. South Park is slowly making new episodes still. The Daily Show is 30 minutes and still awesome. Mad Men isn't 30 minutes but it's much much MUCH better than 30 Rock.
You have horrible taste. - texbuck, on 11/03/2009, -1/+4Not surprised, considering Germans enjoy game shows like Stackenblochen:

p.s. I know it's not real. - taibo, on 11/03/2009, -3/+6I don't like Sarah Palin or Tina Fey.
- dezholling, on 11/03/2009, -4/+7How about digg things that are useful contributions and bury things that are tangential drivel? What, have you never dugg anything you haven't agreed with before?
- Esprit, on 11/03/2009, -1/+3Completely understandable. I've watched Fresh Prince of Bell Air in German and it was about the un-funniest thing I ever watched. I even remember laughing at the Fresh Prince jokes in English and the translation effectively gutted 100% of the humor.
- jshhmr, on 11/03/2009, -4/+6Well as long as they have Deter in Sprockets.
