- schlongmeister, on 10/12/2007, -2/+87"How do you kill that which has no life?"
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -7/+89I love how these "dudes" who spend all day on Digg clicking refresh waiting for new news to come up so they can comment on them call others, JUST LIKE THEM; who play wow "nerds" and "losers".
Will I be the only one to say, we're all "nerds" here? - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+84Lord, I'm glad these people aren't there for every episode of South Park that I watch.
You can't nitpick comedy for a reason. If they broadened their criticisms to every episode, you would be able to see just how stupid they are. Examples:
"Tom Cruise doesn't sound like that!"
"Why is Kenny still alive, didn't he die last episode?"
"Why is satan so weird looking, I think that Satan would look far eviler"
"Saddam Hussein was not gay!"
"No real mom would be as nice as Cartman's mom"
"Seriously, why haven't Butters' parents taken him to a therapist yet?"
etc. - MordechaiCohen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+69I think we can all agree on something: One of the best South Park episodes in a long time.
- admdrew, on 10/12/2007, -4/+49That isn't their own?
- Punisher2K, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42Anyone like me and think Trey and Matt did that on purpose just so the anal jackwads in their mom's basement would freak out over it?
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -14/+54Sad bastards...
- JacksonEMG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39Well what else are you going to do at work? Can't play WoW =P
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+45Seriously, those people need to get off the internet and touch a boob.
- fishmasta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28The team speak dialogue they had was extremely accurate in my perception. I only played WoW briefly, so I don't know if what they were saying was accurate, but the inflection in their voices was dead on.
- Dysl3xicDog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28This truly makes me laugh. The whole episode was based on WoW players not having a life. They have just proven this statement. Thanks WoW players.
- drommer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26You mean that guy in the episode was based on real people ???
- easycheez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21The really funny part was that they didn't argue about the stereotypes portrayed of WoW players in the episode. I thought that was sure to be the case. I have never played it so I don't know,.. but I did not have a life when I hit a lvl 65 archer in Asherons Call, then I woke up and asked myself wtf had I been doing?
- Punisher2K, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Then fix it
- Koosebane, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Frankly, if the episode had strictly followed true game rules, it would have been boring as *****.
This is television people. It is not supposed to be true to real life.
I can't believe I'm talking about real life in a WoW thread. - Forever-Zero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17"In one shot there is a close up on the XP bar with a counter with the amount of experience counting upwards as a number, with the bar filling up smoothly. The numbers wouldn't be there without a mod, but you don't see this in any other shots of the game. Also the XP bar doesn't fill up constantly and smoothly, but instead jumps up whenever XP is gained."
I play WoW, and even I'm embarassed. - myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19My WAP doesn't extend far enough for me to play WoW outside. :(
- wheaty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14and it worked beautifully
- blackmariah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Yes. That was my first thought.
- dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18I casually play some WoW, and the majority of the community ISN'T like these nerds. Some of the tasks in the game pretty much require you to have no life, to get high in the PvP stats, it takes monthes of playing 6+ hours a day, and yet I've seen people with that rank.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16From the "Goofs not relating to WoW" section:
"Guys, please get laid. Seriously, even if you have to pay for it." - luma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13That's kinda creepy, because I did the exact same thing last night: nailed your wife and then watched South Park. Also, say hi to my kids when you get home.
- SlvrEagle23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13I'm one of the editors who provided a lot of the content on this page, and I'm more than happy to admit I looked a lot like a nerd doing it.
Let me clarify something though...see, you get laid. Yeah, you. As for me, I don't. So let me kill my time the only way I know how, and you can get along with your hot dirty raunchy sex or whatever it is you do that makes you better than me. I'll just be over here...editing Wikipedia.
The sad part is a lot of you probably went to that page looking for a nice documented list of all the ***** that the South Park team got wrong despite the fact that Blizzard themselves helped them out on this one. As soon as you found it, though, you ran over here and giggled together about how nerdy the people who put it there were. So, if you hypocritical bastards want something better to do, stop going here, stop going to Wikipedia, and go out and have some of that hot raunchy sex I just said you were having. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Well, in the outside world we're all nerds but in here I'm Falgor, defender of the alliance
- porch88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Hey - at least they got off WoW long enough to watch an episode. That's a step in the right direction. Going outside might be a bit of a stretch.
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I disagree actually, I think that south park has maintained a consistent level of quality to a degree unseen in shows of comparable tenure, while also managing to also unflinchingly mock the flaws of both extremes of the political spectrum in almost equal amounts, to great humourous effect. Further, I AM A ROBOT! I AM A ROBOT!
- cell00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10yeah, had some stuff like this though:
"start pyroblast"
"there's an 8 second cast time"
"aren't you specced to reduce cast time?"
"no, I'm an arcane/fire mage"
Well guess what, that's the only talents that would allow you to reduce cast time!! :PP Either way, I don't care the slightest about stuff like that. - generalginjur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I'm pretty sure they meant that as "none of the female Southpark characters (aka Wendy, etc.) played WoW. -the episode featured all the boys, with a line or two from the mothers.
- mlvassallo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10And if I posted a picture of Han with a lighsaber on his belt how many of you would crap a brick?
- Trebormojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9yeah, noticed this last night at a raid (recently re-activated my account after 6 months)
- EbowUK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Next they'll be doing one where Cartman can never get a story to the front page of Digg, to similiar reaction.
- TroyBenedict, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Go watch an episode of CSI or 24, and you can find all sorts of flaws in the process. I mean, c'mon. Suspend some disbelief for a little while, folks. I mean, nobody on 24 uses mice to control the screens! They must be the best alt-tabbers in the world!!! :)
- TapaGeuR, on 10/12/2007, -12/+18Wow! I still need to watch that episode that i got online and after i'll definitely enjoy more this link! thanks for it ;) People are really fast about getting the actuality to wikipedia, that's amazing.
- pexor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+610/9/06 4:00 PM CST: No 'flaws' reported on the main Wiki page from WoW nerds, as the title suggests. But the discussion page is hilarious.
And yes, I appreciate the irony of this comment. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You guys are so cool!
- funkpucker, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12Now if only we could somehow find a way to leverage all this time spent playing a game for real life goals. Think if instead of WoW, they were playing a game to solve AI, or solve politics, or the energy crisis. It's not sad that people are so dedicated to something so fruitless, because it's enjoyable. It's just a shame we can't harness all that brain power and dedication for a more noble pursuit.
- xutopia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9For people who haven't seen it yet: http://www.wowdetox.com/
- mwilding, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5There has been So much hoopla over the list of flaws that now they have been removed. Too bad, as I would have actually enjoyed seeing an exhaustive list and marvelling at the effort required to accumulate it.
- an0nym0us, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8you can't even spell right; who is the poser now, huh?
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hey! No nit-picking the nit-picking goddamnit, we're already three layers of meta in.
- Rivetgeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5what does being bald have to do with having no life?
- Irco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5and you are claiming that you DO have a life on digg?....sad
- DirtyWorker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Everyone who says these guys are nerds and have no life are ***** retards. Just because someone knows more about something then you do, does not mean he/she has no life. I'm sure most of you have some sort of hobby, or something you know more about then most, do you guys not have a life either? Or is it only because this is about WoW.
Holy crap you guys are pathetic. - Tawni, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It is satirical comedy to be taken at face value. But the quote "How do you kill that which has no life?" does fit perfectly here. The ones criticizing a satirical cartoon are in need of a life. Go outside, out of mom's basement and get a life.
you can actually have a life and still play an MMORPG. you will live longer and may even move out of the basement. - tnknights, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Kyle was a female. She/he wore a green outfit.
To the Wiki, the french term was from a Patti LaBelle song, Lady Marmalade. The fact that Cartman used it wrong WAS the joke. - nguerra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Dialogue hints that Cartman is a warrior, although when his screen is show it is clear that he is actually a Rogue; which would make his weilding of a two-handed mace impossible."
Beautiful. - omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's ***** satire, not a documentary.
- formerperson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hahahahahaha.
The song during the montage is an actual song from the upcoming new album from KISS' Paul Stanley! I can't believe it, I could've sworn it was something that Matt and Trey thunk up, like the usually do.
I almost wanna buy the album just for that song. - bigpoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Take a look at the history page, the page before it was removed is still in there.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Look sir, nerds!!!
