WOW!, WoW nerds post South Park flaws in record time
en.wikipedia.org — A Wikipedia entry summarizing the South Park WoW episode complete with all the little errors in that only a person that truly has no life would catch.

- TapaGeuR, on 10/12/2007, -12/+18Wow! I still need to watch that episode that i got online and after i'll definitely enjoy more this link! thanks for it ;) People are really fast about getting the actuality to wikipedia, that's amazing.
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -142/+16DEAR FRIEND OR ACQUAINTANCE
I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN GIVEN A SUM OF TWENTY FIVE MILLION (25,000,000) UNITED STATES DOLLARS AFTER MY SEVENTH COUSIN'S UNCLE'S NIECE DIED IN A PLANE CRASH.
Oh wait, wrong thread. - TomP, on 10/12/2007, -14/+54Sad bastards...
- dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18I casually play some WoW, and the majority of the community ISN'T like these nerds. Some of the tasks in the game pretty much require you to have no life, to get high in the PvP stats, it takes monthes of playing 6+ hours a day, and yet I've seen people with that rank.
- CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3Yeah, i noticed pretty much all the flaws or "goofs" that were listed, but i didn't care. It just made the whole thing less funny for me. It wasn't really making fun of WoW, seeing as how the only thing the in common were the references.
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -28/+6...What? You don't have to be a hardcore WoW fan to catch most of those inaccuracies.
The fact that there are no 2xp mobs, and that mobs become trivial? That theres no perma death. That he can't wear plate and cast firebolt. That you can't be a human hunter?
You could learn this in what, an hour? - dextroz, on 10/12/2007, -24/+3look at all you posers... nerds is a good think - we will rule the world..
- an0nym0us, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8you can't even spell right; who is the poser now, huh?
- saladtossser, on 10/12/2007, -10/+0while you guys are at it, digg this too http://digg.com/television/WoW_SouthPark_Episode_Embedded_for_Easy_Viewing
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16From the "Goofs not relating to WoW" section:
"Guys, please get laid. Seriously, even if you have to pay for it." - seanalltogether, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7the only major goof was that you can't level past 13 or so by just killing boars in Elwynn
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2an0nym0us - I believe the word you are looking for is "poseur". (mmmmmmm. the irony sustains me)
- pexor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+610/9/06 4:00 PM CST: No 'flaws' reported on the main Wiki page from WoW nerds, as the title suggests. But the discussion page is hilarious.
And yes, I appreciate the irony of this comment. - davecor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I would argue that these weren't "goofs" at all, but simplifications so non-players could follow what was going on.
The episode was targeted at WoW players, but why needlessly baffle people who have never played?
So, no, you can't grind your way to level 60 by killing boars, but that detail isn't important to the story.

- gn0sc3r3, on 10/12/2007, -16/+5Very in depth and informative. I can't believe they compiled all of that information so quickly. A lot of this information is being discussed at:

- NeoSlasher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Seconded, anyone else have a link?
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Torrents.
There are like 4k+ seeders for that episode.
- artgod, on 10/12/2007, -32/+15Man... I'm so glad I have a life... those wow players need something, dont know what but they need it bad.
- skatastrophy, on 10/12/2007, -30/+5My e-peen is bigger than your e-peen :/
- truegodofwar, on 10/12/2007, -44/+17Get a life, losers.
- Troopy, on 10/12/2007, -50/+15I fear I may get dugg down for this but I have to say...
WoW is for fags..!
FPS ftw! - jlowe64, on 10/12/2007, -32/+8/ignore both of you.
- Troopy, on 10/12/2007, -50/+15I fear I may get dugg down for this but I have to say...
- drommer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26You mean that guy in the episode was based on real people ???
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -7/+89I love how these "dudes" who spend all day on Digg clicking refresh waiting for new news to come up so they can comment on them call others, JUST LIKE THEM; who play wow "nerds" and "losers".
Will I be the only one to say, we're all "nerds" here?- JacksonEMG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39Well what else are you going to do at work? Can't play WoW =P
- ollj, on 10/12/2007, -13/+7as least digg users do not spend money for crappy service.
- triblinator, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2*concurrance* i embrace being a nerd... but i definatly play less than 3 hours week of video games (at at least that much time on digg or its links =P) so yeah... everyone here is a nerd, especially those guys making fun of WoW players
- cajungator2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Well, in the outside world we're all nerds but in here I'm Falgor, defender of the alliance
- atroxodisse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I prefer the term geek. The term nerd, for me, implies someone who tries hard and excels in academics. Geeks play video games, dungeons and dragons, have allergies, asthma and listen to mc chris. I am a geek.
- fishmasta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28The team speak dialogue they had was extremely accurate in my perception. I only played WoW briefly, so I don't know if what they were saying was accurate, but the inflection in their voices was dead on.
- Trebormojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9yeah, noticed this last night at a raid (recently re-activated my account after 6 months)
- cell00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10yeah, had some stuff like this though:
"start pyroblast"
"there's an 8 second cast time"
"aren't you specced to reduce cast time?"
"no, I'm an arcane/fire mage"
Well guess what, that's the only talents that would allow you to reduce cast time!! :PP Either way, I don't care the slightest about stuff like that. - warox, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1I mean yea seriously, an arc/fire mage should be able to cast pyroblast in 6 seconds at least. OR, like every sane arc/fire spec out there, he could use presence of mind and instant-cast that *****. What kind of nubsauce goes arc/fire and doesn't get PoM or reduced casting time? Even with nub gear that still hits for at least 1k. What a waste of talent points, go learn your class or reroll a huntard!!!!11!!1eleven11!!!
- MordechaiCohen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+69I think we can all agree on something: One of the best South Park episodes in a long time.
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I disagree actually, I think that south park has maintained a consistent level of quality to a degree unseen in shows of comparable tenure, while also managing to also unflinchingly mock the flaws of both extremes of the political spectrum in almost equal amounts, to great humourous effect. Further, I AM A ROBOT! I AM A ROBOT!
- shaun944, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah I gotta say that while I enjoyed the episode, I don't think it was one of their finest or funniest.
My personal favorite is the Lucas/Spielburg remake episode, but there are many that I laughed harder to than the WoW episode. - Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2just a clarification, I'm not saying this wasn't a really excellent episode, to be honest, I can't think of a single episode of south park that wasn't excellent
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+84Lord, I'm glad these people aren't there for every episode of South Park that I watch.
You can't nitpick comedy for a reason. If they broadened their criticisms to every episode, you would be able to see just how stupid they are. Examples:
"Tom Cruise doesn't sound like that!"
"Why is Kenny still alive, didn't he die last episode?"
"Why is satan so weird looking, I think that Satan would look far eviler"
"Saddam Hussein was not gay!"
"No real mom would be as nice as Cartman's mom"
"Seriously, why haven't Butters' parents taken him to a therapist yet?"
etc.- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hey! No nit-picking the nit-picking goddamnit, we're already three layers of meta in.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6How many times would you have to watch the episode to realize all that stuff.
It's pretty interesting though, major props to people with that much free-time on their hands.- MosaicM, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I just play WoW casually and I watched this episode once and I got most of those, since a lot of these are pretty obvious. (Come on, one guy is going to kill everyone on ALL the servers?)
And anyway, from what I've heard admins can level up beyond level 100.
- MosaicM, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I just play WoW casually and I watched this episode once and I got most of those, since a lot of these are pretty obvious. (Come on, one guy is going to kill everyone on ALL the servers?)
- kevin45, on 10/12/2007, -17/+45Seriously, those people need to get off the internet and touch a boob.
- admdrew, on 10/12/2007, -4/+49That isn't their own?
- schlongmeister, on 10/12/2007, -2/+87"How do you kill that which has no life?"
- easycheez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21The really funny part was that they didn't argue about the stereotypes portrayed of WoW players in the episode. I thought that was sure to be the case. I have never played it so I don't know,.. but I did not have a life when I hit a lvl 65 archer in Asherons Call, then I woke up and asked myself wtf had I been doing?
- daedal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hit level 100 in Asheron's Call way back and still ask myself what the hell it was all for. Doesn't really affect my day-to-day 4 years later.
- Hayes, on 10/12/2007, -22/+4I found a mistake in the wiki!
"Though there are female characters, none of Southpark's players are female"
It says Kyle's character was female.- Punisher2K, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Then fix it
- generalginjur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I'm pretty sure they meant that as "none of the female Southpark characters (aka Wendy, etc.) played WoW. -the episode featured all the boys, with a line or two from the mothers.
- funkpucker, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12Now if only we could somehow find a way to leverage all this time spent playing a game for real life goals. Think if instead of WoW, they were playing a game to solve AI, or solve politics, or the energy crisis. It's not sad that people are so dedicated to something so fruitless, because it's enjoyable. It's just a shame we can't harness all that brain power and dedication for a more noble pursuit.
- InsaneMachine, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2All you need to do is make it engaging, but since it would require some thought, people wouldn't play it. They don't like to think about real life problems when gaming.
- lowbot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3How about all the time spent at work? Do you feel this way when you pass an office building? Do you rally against all forms of entertainment? Why would wow have more 'brainpower' than your average NASCAR race? The people who try to make a different probably aren't playing and if they are they're blowing off steam.
- funkpucker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1No, I see work as a real life goal. In my job I attempt to solve problems. Those solutions, in turn, extend and better the lives of our citizens through better healthcare. That is a real goal, or at least more real than getting to level 60 with my Barbarian...
No rallying against entertainment... it is good, as I said... If we could find a way to integrate real life goals into our entertainment, like documentary movies or baseball (fitness), so much the better!
I don't think the average person is all that worthless... or at least don't think that all Nascar fans are worthless.... Especially gamers, who are usually tech savvy and competitive, are not worthless. So, I don't see your point...
My point is that we should all work together to make life better for everyone, and that it's just dissapointing that so much time is spent on something that doesn't advance anything based in the physical world. It's great that people find entertainment in it, at least. But if we could find a way to make the games interesting and solve real problems, wouldn't that be better???
- reichg, on 10/12/2007, -20/+6wow, great job nerds you have now justifed the 40+ hours a week you spend on that stupid game and how you will never get a life. I hope you liked the bald character that the kids fought at all because that will soon be you.
Get a life.- Rivetgeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5what does being bald have to do with having no life?
- Punisher2K, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42Anyone like me and think Trey and Matt did that on purpose just so the anal jackwads in their mom's basement would freak out over it?
- blackmariah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Yes. That was my first thought.
- wheaty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14and it worked beautifully
- lofiboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I could definitely see them doing something like that.
- EbowUK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Next they'll be doing one where Cartman can never get a story to the front page of Digg, to similiar reaction.
- Toloran, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2I am insulted! I am a GEEK not a nerd. :(
- fre4, on 10/12/2007, -16/+4YEAH FOR HAVING A LIFE!!
- Irco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5and you are claiming that you DO have a life on digg?....sad
- hagfish70, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8I don't know who is more pathetic, the people who actually waste most of their day playing this game, or the dude who actually spent the time checking and posting all these errors. For the love of god, go outside and play, man!
- myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19My WAP doesn't extend far enough for me to play WoW outside. :(
- Dysl3xicDog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28This truly makes me laugh. The whole episode was based on WoW players not having a life. They have just proven this statement. Thanks WoW players.
- jobo5432, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3The question is, how did they decide who would be responsible for posting info to Wikipedia? I'm sure in the legions of dorks "in-game", it was considered a great honor to defent WoW outside the realm of WoW. Was it a fight to the death maybe? That would be AWESOME!
- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Hm, maybe you should wiki "Wiki".
- tnknights, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Kyle was a female. She/he wore a green outfit.
To the Wiki, the french term was from a Patti LaBelle song, Lady Marmalade. The fact that Cartman used it wrong WAS the joke. - distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4lol, all you people talking crap are the real nerds.
a lot of the people who make south park play WOW, so it was just a way to poke fun at it all.
it's crazy that some people are in here telling others to get a life. - jobo5432, on 10/12/2007, -22/+4I don't play WoW...Instead, I nail my wife...then we watch South Park ;)
- moneysaver67, on 10/12/2007, -17/+2No WoW here either. Except, it's vice-versa for me: We watch South Park...then my wife nails me! ;)
- night141, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You guys are so cool!
- luma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13That's kinda creepy, because I did the exact same thing last night: nailed your wife and then watched South Park. Also, say hi to my kids when you get home.
- Forever-Zero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17"In one shot there is a close up on the XP bar with a counter with the amount of experience counting upwards as a number, with the bar filling up smoothly. The numbers wouldn't be there without a mod, but you don't see this in any other shots of the game. Also the XP bar doesn't fill up constantly and smoothly, but instead jumps up whenever XP is gained."
I play WoW, and even I'm embarassed. - CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I know that they know they're being douche bags by pointing those out, but somehow it still annoys me.
- porch88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Hey - at least they got off WoW long enough to watch an episode. That's a step in the right direction. Going outside might be a bit of a stretch.
- wheaty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4they watch while playing...
grinding...
camping...
etc
- wheaty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4they watch while playing...
- xutopia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9For people who haven't seen it yet: http://www.wowdetox.com/
- Koosebane, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Frankly, if the episode had strictly followed true game rules, it would have been boring as *****.
This is television people. It is not supposed to be true to real life.
I can't believe I'm talking about real life in a WoW thread.- Tux541, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I guess the cost of playing WoW is one funny bone.
- TroyBenedict, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Go watch an episode of CSI or 24, and you can find all sorts of flaws in the process. I mean, c'mon. Suspend some disbelief for a little while, folks. I mean, nobody on 24 uses mice to control the screens! They must be the best alt-tabbers in the world!!! :)
- tehJR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"In the real game, the maximum level pending the next expansion is 60. At this level, the Renegade could have easily been taken care of by the Admins or the several other Level 60s on most servers. This is most likely also a deliberate incongruity."
Seriously?- necroticbudz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3srsly.
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5People act like these lists don't exist for ANY other form of visual media. . .
- 3rdeyepro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Look sir, nerds!!!
- snocat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Though the article/post concerns matters of such irrelevant topic, shouldn't the poster at least strive for being professional in journalism? Leave the name calling, opinion, like the 'no-life' comment in the comments area please.
- elbowmacaroni, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Wikipedia-losers are more pathetic than even the lamest Gamer-loser. Look at the article's discussion page and look at the morons argue and argue and argue about nothing. I urge everyone to get a free Wikipedia account and keep the retards busy, it's more fun than an Ant Farm!
- Willow01, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I am gonna get dugg down for this, but it's only a South Park episode, yea WoW is a decent game, but still It's a cartoon show that got the help of Blizzard. It wasn't meant to actually portray real aspects in the game. I mean do you think the South Park characters are real? When I watched this episode I was watching it for the amusement factor, not how the game was shown.
- happyhippy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2lol@ all you WoW losers, lol...
- mlvassallo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10And if I posted a picture of Han with a lighsaber on his belt how many of you would crap a brick?
- gregduh, on 10/12/2007, -12/+0south park sucks, learn comedy plskthx

- Tawni, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It is satirical comedy to be taken at face value. But the quote "How do you kill that which has no life?" does fit perfectly here. The ones criticizing a satirical cartoon are in need of a life. Go outside, out of mom's basement and get a life.
you can actually have a life and still play an MMORPG. you will live longer and may even move out of the basement. - SlvrEagle23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13I'm one of the editors who provided a lot of the content on this page, and I'm more than happy to admit I looked a lot like a nerd doing it.
Let me clarify something though...see, you get laid. Yeah, you. As for me, I don't. So let me kill my time the only way I know how, and you can get along with your hot dirty raunchy sex or whatever it is you do that makes you better than me. I'll just be over here...editing Wikipedia.
The sad part is a lot of you probably went to that page looking for a nice documented list of all the ***** that the South Park team got wrong despite the fact that Blizzard themselves helped them out on this one. As soon as you found it, though, you ran over here and giggled together about how nerdy the people who put it there were. So, if you hypocritical bastards want something better to do, stop going here, stop going to Wikipedia, and go out and have some of that hot raunchy sex I just said you were having.- Tawni, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3anyone that has played WoW once would know what was wrong but it is not meant to be factual it is satire.

–noun 1. the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.
It was meant to be funny and it was. just take it at that and go back to PVP on the server you crawled out from unless you choose to get a life. - mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Timmy?
- necroticbudz, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Did you look that up all on your own, Tawni? Wow! You can have a cookie for showing us how smart you are.

The song during the montage is an actual song from the upcoming new album from KISS' Paul Stanley! I can't believe it, I could've sworn it was something that Matt and Trey thunk up, like the usually do.
I almost wanna buy the album just for that song. - omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's ***** satire, not a documentary.
- BobOki, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Just wanted to throw in that after a few levels, they would no longer get any exp from the boars.....
But man funny episode.. it had me giggling like a school girl (japanese of course). -
