- intricate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39A long time ago, we used to be friends.
- ss1958, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36I think they should skip ahead a few more years, and have Veronica fight crimes in space.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29"how many people from the fbi and police forces watch this show?"
You're completely right. 100%. Because only people in prison watch prison break. And only real superheroes watch Heroes. And only yellow skinned weirdos watch the simpsons. And only doctors watch House...... - gunch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26the new version of the theme song is terrible.
- commiecat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18I agree. This season has been kinda dull -- but the first two seasons, centering around murders, were amazing. My wife started watching it during the first season and I chalked it up to "chick TV'. Then I actually sat down and watched it and think the writing and continuity are top notch. Definitely check out the first season if you're interested. The eye candy doesn't hurt, either. :)
And for the Digg community, Veronica Mars is the only mainstream TV show that I've ever seen which had two characters debating between Ubuntu and OSX. Check out this little gem from the first season:

- RoyHobbs, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18I think they should skip ahead a few more years, and have Veronica fight chicks in bikini's, while she wears a bikini :)
- mimbomike, on 10/12/2007, -9/+20Best writing on television, hands down. Kristen Bell also gives the best performance on TV.
This show deserves another season (in any form). If you've never seen, go rent/buy Season 1. But you might want to skip Season 3 (the current season) all together. - mimbomike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12They don't care about the original audience. Rob Thomas just wants his show on the air for another season. I don't really care either, as long as I get another season with Kristen Bell.
- mimbomike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I agree. The show was interesting and intriguing when you had a big mystery, with other mysteries in the mix.
- coreyDehlert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12They need to get back to the big season long mystery and plot lines, the shortened ones this season just didn't work.
- talkingcheese, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14Rather it skip a few years than get canceled.
- forumreader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I believe the point is to develop a new target audience.
- wphj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9And where in the world is Carmen San Diego?
- dominiccarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Veronica Mars is one of the very few non-SF series that have captured and kept my interest, The first two seasons were amazing, season 3 has been good but alas the quality has slipped marginally, hopefully a new direction, and a rather good one at that, will return the show to the glory days of earlier seasons.
- callistostg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6While I'm glad it looks like the show's up for another season, I'm a little concerned about jumping ahead several years. I guess I'm in the minority, but I've really enjoyed this season. Sure, it doesn't have the same addictive quality of the first two seasons, but the writing has been phenomenal, particularly from a character and relationship development standpoint. Season three has introduced some great characters (Piz and Max being favorites of mine), and I'd hate to see them tossed aside in a shift to a new setting before they can be fully fleshed out. And that's to say nothing of established characters like Keith, Logan, Mac, and Wallace--the FBI training wouldn't be in Neptune, so what of them?
That being said, I'm all for keeping it on the air, since Veronica Mars has been one of the few shows that has remained compelling for me. But I hope it doesn't end up being a complete reset, because when you get down to it, Veronica Mars is about far more than just Kristen Bell. - setrajonas, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9The show is more noir than teen drama. The drama that is there is tied in strongly with the mystery, so it's more like Raymond Chandler than your average young teen novel.
- Frank_the_Tank, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"People who watch Veronica Mars.. need something better to do with their free time."
Like troll on digg? - STKD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6No it really is. The original version was far better. The new one strays into odd-sounding for the sake of odd-sounding territory. Then stays there. For days.
Every single new episode it still irritates. - TheKarmaPolice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the thing that gets me about this season is the whole logan/veronica storyline. i wish they would just split up for good. this season they just alternated episodes with being together and split up. it was laughable in the previews when they would show veronica saying, "i just cant get over this. it's over." (yeah, right...)
- ckSubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Don't lose focus! It's a great show too!

One of the few shows I watch on tv. - lennydizzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4YEAH, a very good show. Actually most TV show featuring a leading young actor/actress fall to the catorgory of 'stupid teen flicker'.
I love the way V speaks~ - TheKarmaPolice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5great news! tv is really going downhill these days, we need to keep these good shows around as long as possible!
- ckSubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They were forced into it by the network (for the second episode) to try to hook in new viewers. They didn't want to do it.
Since that time, to my knowledge we've had ZERO references to her on-screen character, and at least a handful of insults back at Paris herself. - cthellis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's interesting and reasonably intelligent. Sure they toss some relationship drama in it, but it's certainly no ***** Dawson's Creek or One Tree Hill or anything.
Season 3 has just been a bust, as whiny relationshipping got more emphasis than the clever, interwoven mystery and suspense bits.
Certainly it could so better with a bit of a shake-up, and seemingly the only way to REALLY shake it up is to push the timeline forward. (After all, "college" for these shows is usually just "high school, Mark II." The cast tends to not change, nor does the day-to-day life.) - STKD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If Mac isn't in, that'd be the only reason I'd be out.
- CapnMarrrrk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm hope this works, then I don't have to look like a creepy, perv, weirdo for watching the show.
When it's not teen angst, it's awesomely written. - easy4lif, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3this has been my favorite show since the season 1 lilly kane murder. I have both seasons on DVD + Season 3 from iTunes. I plan to get it on DVD as well
here's hoping for a season 4, 5, & 6 - nolanistic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'd prefer if if they'd kept arrested development for longer :(
- pix3l, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I think the bikinis would alienate the target audience. I believe they would prefer the bikinis were left out... I know I would.
- diaverde238, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I thought this season was a little off the mark compared to the first two, but these past few eps since the break have actually been really good. Not being a fair-weather-fan often pays off (I.E. LOST).
- gbacci, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I actually liked this season - I think there's so much to be said about college life, and the show handled it well. I personally thought the over-arching "mystery" last season was totally absurd and over-the-top. But maybe one more season in college would be too much.
My only complaint is that much like Joss Wheadon or Kevin Smith writing (no wonder they like the show), everyone in this series talks like a guy. - STKD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1curse you digg reply button...
- jgamboa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No! Then they couldn't film at my school anymore! They film here at San Diego State all the time (but not recently) Ive seen most of the cast before, and actually have some really funny stories.
- ckSubs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3We like it because it (or at least its season 1) was one of the best seasons of TV. Ever. It may look like The OC or Gilmore Girls at first, but watch the first 5 episodes and you'll be hooked.
I'll let Kevin Smith say it better than I can:
http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=160 - rickweasel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great words! for the first two season. Not so much this season.
@gunch
and yes the new version sucks. - merripen, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7That picture makes it clear what their pitch was and why it went so well. I'm sure season 4 will be "intellectually" stimulating.
- mimbomike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@ ringworm
You're exactly right. Veronica is a character that borders between moral and immoral all the time. I love her but she makes some bad decisions and a lot of times, acts as if she has no conscious. - jessicaesthetic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2yay
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2CW's primary audience isn't for adults but teens. Doesn't mean older folks can't enjoy some of the shows though.
- ringworm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Does it make it any better for you that she does it for the cash? She essentially works as a Private Investigator, not out of any personal desire to butt in on the personal lives of people she doesn't know.
- mimbomike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@ ringworm
while I think Veronica does enjoy going into other's business (we've seen it too many times), she is normally approached for help. She tried to quit the PI biz but it just came knocking on her door - ringworm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@mimbomike
Yeah, that's true, but I was pretty careful to qualify my statement with "people she doesn't know". She is certainly more than willing to butt in on the personal lives of people she does know, and to the show's credit, it often ends badly for her when she does. - outhouseinput, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1And only castaways watch lost, and only crime-fighting super agents watch 24, and only investigative journalists watch Dateline, and only master singers watch American Idol, and only fat Irish people watch Family Guy, and only fundamentalist Christians watch Morel Orel.
Actually, people do look to what they find similar. - bitterg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I started watching this show this year, thinking it was OK. Then I saw the first season on DVD, and my has this show gone south, I can see why they would want to change it up in a big way, because right now it's really lame.
- JasonQG, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Kristen
- DTwirler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Forget Veronica Mars, Supernatural FTW.
- xc3ll, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Veronica Mars rocks. Kirsten Bell rocks. Kirsten Bell in the shower, butt naked, or scandily clad rocks.
Need I say anything else? - weedancer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Man good news and hot pic of Kristen Bell thats a double whammy!
