- nascentia, on 06/22/2009, -0/+257I think Band of Brothers is one of the most amazing, moving things I have ever seen, and the fact that it was a TV miniseries (even on HBO) is just incredible. I read the book as well, and watched interviews with the WWII vets the show was based on - the attention to detail was AMAZING. Every actor cast looked almost identical to the 1944 "version" of the soldier they played.

And this is how a great second season are made. Took them a good 6-7 years to create another 10+ episodes.

- trendygamer, on 06/22/2009, -1/+41I LOVED Band of Brothers, and it made me tear up more times than I could count...but whereas Band of Brothers seemed to take a lot of its tone and seriousness from Saving Private Ryan (for obvious reasons, not to mention it was also set in the European Theater), the trailer makes me feel like this one is taking its tone from The Thin Red Line (coincidentally set in the Pacific Theater)...where you have characters sitting around waxing philosophic about the meaning of war and all that nonsense that I highly doubt your average GI engaged in.
Part of the reason I loved Band of Brothers was the realism of not just the way combat itself was portrayed, but the believability of the characters that participated in it. - garths, on 06/22/2009, -0/+22I think BoB should be mandatory viewing for all high-school kids. War is an abstract concept for most. BoB makes it personal and human, and terrifying. War is an unfortunate but crucial part of what it means to be human. We must understand it so that we may avoid it.

- Railz, on 06/22/2009, -0/+20Amazing. I love Band of Brothers. Every time I watch it I have to watch the entire series. The Pacific front was probably the ugliest fronts of any war on earth and compared to the amount of attention the European front got it'll be some what of a change of pace.

They can leave out Lieutenant Jimmy Fallon this time though... how he manages to crack up while unloading ammo crates is beyond me, I guess terrible acting must just be a nervous tick that he gets in front of the camera.
