- it5five, on 11/30/2007, -2/+11Weeds is an awesome show, and was the first one that came to my mind when I saw this title. I'm relieved it was on the list.
- allaboutdatiki, on 11/30/2007, -2/+9Impossible to stop at just 12 ...
- WordsnCollision, on 11/30/2007, -1/+7Was a big Knots Landing fan in the '80s... guilty pleasure!
- theteller, on 11/30/2007, -2/+6Gotta love a list that has Twin Peaks, South Park and Happy Days on it. Sopranos, always enjoyed Tony S having to go down to bottom of his endless driveway to pick up his paper.
- zebulah, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5Oops. Just saw the slight Munsters shout out in the description.
- harvinator24, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5freaks and geeks one of the best shows about the suburbs ever.
- forthegift, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5South Park and Simpsons are great. Tough to limit to 12. Really like Married with Children. Never saw Soap but heard it was wild. Overall good list.
- AriaStar, on 11/30/2007, -3/+7Married with Children...
They sure don't make 'em like they used to. And, as usual, Bud (David Faustino) managed to be overlooked. :) - zebulah, on 11/30/2007, -1/+4One more thing. It's true South Park feels kind of suburban, but it is definitely more Mayberry than New Rochelle (or Levittown). From the very first sentence in the Wikipedia article on South Park (emphasis added by me): "South Park is an Emmy Award-winning, American animated television comedy series about four elementary school boys who live in the SMALL MOUNTAIN TOWN of South Park, Colorado" Speaking of New Rochelle, how about Dick Van Dyke?
- adml_shake, on 11/30/2007, -1/+4Roseanne was on of my favorite shows when it was on, all the the last season where she took over the writing and ***** it all up.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -1/+4Yay for opinions.
- openthink, on 11/30/2007, -1/+3This is the Australian series, yes?; 1 of the longest running series ever. Don't think it's been shown in the U.S. But have heard good things about it; should try to check it out on DVD or online, if possible.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 11/30/2007, -1/+3I can't digg any list like this that fails to include "The Wonder Years," but includes "My Mother the Car."
- Poolshark19, on 11/30/2007, -0/+2is it just me or did anybody else think of the movie "The Burbs" with Tom Hanks when you read the headline?
- Bukowsky, on 11/30/2007, -3/+5Yea... I'm not sure how you could leave out Desperate Housewives, cuz all that show is about is women who live in the burbs. But, it's pretty tough to just limit this list to 12... maybe 20 would've fit better.
- meatmcguffin, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1That's a pretty literal definition but ill concede. I just hate neighbours :)
- asjk, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1Tonye Patano as Heylia James. Great lines!
- openthink, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1The Burbs was funny movie. Think there was once talk about doing a series based on it, but it never happened. So never made it to TV. Same with the movie, Neighbors (Belushi & Aykroyd); a lot of talk there about a TV series but couldn't get it together.
- theteller, on 11/30/2007, -1/+2Dude, Lost has nothing to do with the burbs. It's a good show though..
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -2/+3Seem to have forgotten the best of all suburban TV dramas - Neighbours.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1There are hundreds of shows that should be mentioned of "My Mother the Car" – e.g. "Dennis the Menace," "Home Improvement," "Alf," "Harry & the Henderson's," "Small Wonder," etc.
- alexra, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1that 70s show?
- TomPhoolery, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I was always under the assumption that South Park was really far away from any major city which is why so much ***** up ***** goes down there. I'd rather it be that, because the Simpsons and Family Guy already cover the burbs. :)
- Webbster, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1That 70's Show not there...?
- iching, on 11/30/2007, -1/+2The' Flintstones' should be mentioned over 'my mother the car' , it was much more about the burbs and the problems of the middle class in suburbia than the one trick pony of My mother the car.
- purecheese, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1Springfield does have a walmart, homer worked there
- DyslexicDog, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1The only large buildings in Springfield are factories, power plants, and schools... definitely Suburban!
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+1Eastenders is set in inner London and cannot possibly be considered "in the suburbs".
- jasonfgc, on 12/01/2007, -0/+0That's because Desperate Housewives lacks quality.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1I'd argue that South Park is a small town. Simpsons is kind of like a town on the cusp. Might be on the outer boundary of the Suburbs of Capitol City. Think Waterdown, Ontario in relation to Toronto. I don't think Springfield has a Walmart yet.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1I'd argue that South Park is set in a small town.
Meanwhile, the Simpsons is a town on the cusp and on the outer boudary of a suburban sprawl. Springfield is the next area of development for those willing to push their morning commute to Capitol City to the limit. My best analogies are Waterdown or Barrie, Ontario in relation to Toronto.
Besides, I don't think Springfield has a Walmart yet. - mrferg, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1Ummm, Leave it to Beaver was completely about the burbs and somehow it's absent from the list?
- meatmcguffin, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1You surely meant Eastenders, right? It's the award winning, well-acted, well-written soap that neighbours isn't.
- Benbot, on 11/30/2007, -1/+1Neighbors is aweful...unless you love lame ass soap operas
- romantic101, on 12/23/2008, -0/+070's full of memories

- matts009, on 11/30/2007, -3/+2I would have added Family Matters to that list.
- hollygolitely, on 11/30/2007, -1/+0thats basically true.
- mojaam, on 11/30/2007, -3/+2The Wire
- terrizance, on 11/30/2007, -2/+1That's because it's a list of the TOP television series in the burbs, not soap operas.
- cpovey, on 11/30/2007, -2/+0The Simpsons and South Park but no Family Guy? Honestly?
- zebulah, on 11/30/2007, -5/+3How can you forget the Munsters?
- SRSco, on 11/30/2007, -5/+3This is the most stupid list ever. What's next? Top 13 TV shows with actors AND actresses?
- bunk3rk1ng, on 11/30/2007, -4/+2How is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air not on the list? Half the shows on the list about the "burbs" are not even on the air anymore. Yet you can find the Fresh Prince still on TV every day of the week pretty easily.
- DCJoeDogaswell, on 11/30/2007, -5/+1James Kim, we remember you
http://www.digg.com/celebrity/James_Kim_One_year_l ... - LeCollectif, on 11/30/2007, -7/+2You people realize that my digging these monstrously retarded TOP 10 or 12 or whatever lists, that you're lining the pockets of the idiots who create this mindless drivel?
Come on. - purecheese, on 11/30/2007, -7/+2South Park is not in the suburbs. The Simpsons are not in the suburbs. This whole list is basically crap.
