- DeskFlyer, on 03/25/2008, -5/+249Except when naked.
- logicalnoise, on 03/25/2008, -7/+178oh tina your right the daily show having applause signs totally negates the ***** SNL has been since WIll left.
- RobotBuddha, on 03/25/2008, -6/+163That read like a weird set of denial about how horrible she was with SNL. Clapter is 99.9% of her weekend update skits that dealt with politics. It was a surprise if even one of them got a laugh for me, and even a bit surprising if it evoked even a slight smirk. And the male comics write about sharks and bears seems like a weird defense for why SNL sucked so badly, and hit so often into lame far jokes while she was there. Humor is about novelty and blindsiding someone with unexpected twists. That can come from robots (old people's medicine) or from social commentary. But hacks on either side are going to just assume the superficial trappings of either and mistake 'that' for what was funny about it.
- Hobbes24, on 03/25/2008, -13/+167you know, i sort of suspected she was a bitch after that: "***** you for not voting hillary" speech she gave on SNL, now i know.
- loki440, on 03/25/2008, -6/+156Damn straight! I love Stewart and all, but let's face it if Tina Fey showed up at my house I'd be like "Girl you look good. let me get my hardhat cause I'm about to lay pipe like I work for Verizon!"
and she'd be like "Verizon's network consists of fiber optic cables moron"
then I'd be like "regardless. ..your quick and sniping banter makes my junk tingle. Hold my 360 controller cause I'm going to work you like a part time job."
man I gotta quit drinking before I post stuff... - MT85, on 03/25/2008, -11/+152Sorry Tina. You may be hot, but Stewart's funnier than you and it isn't even close.
- orangester, on 03/25/2008, -9/+143Tracy Morgan said it best.
"Black is the new presidet. Bitch." - jewdiknight, on 03/25/2008, -1/+123I am in the middle of reading a Tina Fey rant, then I somehow end up in a Hanna Montana Abortion rant.
- B3000, on 03/25/2008, -5/+126Yeah, Tina, because "Baby Mama" looks to be packed with insight about people.
- asskey, on 03/25/2008, -3/+104Stewart would still be funnier.
- PDAIsAOk, on 03/25/2008, -7/+104Yea, and Saturday Night Live used to be funny before she started writing for it. So what's her point?
- Brian48216, on 03/25/2008, -5/+90I've actually been lucky enough to sit in a Daily Show audience. The laughter is real.
- louiebaur, on 03/25/2008, -6/+89Sexism is so useless.
- Shrubber, on 03/25/2008, -5/+74One only has to look at the ratio of things Stewart has said that are actually funny to things Fey has said that are actually funny to find the lack of truth behind this comment.
- sup34dog, on 03/25/2008, -0/+69...like when I found out that Jason Lee is a Scientologist :(
- inactive, on 03/25/2008, -8/+70After Tina Fey's little "Vote Hillary if you're not a misogynist" thing, I lost all respect for her. Voting purely because the candidate is the same sex as you is idiotic and so is she.
Also, being a bitch is not a good thing Tina, there's a reason we dislike them. Don't try to bring power to the word. - danielman94, on 03/25/2008, -0/+48I was angry when I found out that Beck and the lady who does Bart Simpson's voice were both Scientologists.
- Prototek, on 03/25/2008, -0/+46I agree with you on Weekend Update. They get a week's worth of news and have less air time to fill up than the Daily Show yet most the jokes are obvious and expected.
- AzureRise, on 03/25/2008, -4/+46Sucks when people you like to turn out to be bitches. First, Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond turns out to be a homophobic bible thumper who makes her kids lives a living hell (reads their texts, emails, everything, knows where they are every minute of every day, tells them what to do and think every minute of every day, etc. They can't even approach a girl because their mom is right behind them with a death grip. The homophobic bitch is gonna end up turning her kids gay. Kinda ironic considering she defended gays on the show while she wants them all dead in real life) and now this!
- brufleth, on 03/25/2008, -6/+47This was an epic comment. You win the internet.
- LordVance, on 03/25/2008, -5/+45Colbert puts on a funny act; Stewart sits there and talks about current affairs as himself. I'm love them both, and think they compliment one another very, very well back to back like that - but Stewart is the true comedic talent of the group. Above just comedy even, just listen to Stewart's commentary on political issues and the state of the media in the US - you simply can not help but love them man whether he is being serious (on shows other than his own) or joshing around.
Colbert pokes fun at O'Reilly quite well - but his act isn't much beyond that (it's a great act though, take O'Reilly - up his crazy rhetoric another 10%, and suddenly you have something hysterically ironic). - kurtwinter, on 03/25/2008, -2/+42She still pissed that Stewart and Colbert are regarded as the inventors of news that isn't news, but becomes real news, something that Weekend Update was only a shadow of.
- ndnspongebob, on 03/25/2008, -5/+44dont care, theres plenty of good lookin woman, no need to settle for a bitch
bros b4 hoes - hassanchop13, on 03/25/2008, -1/+39robots? bears? sharks?
could it get any better? - consonance, on 03/25/2008, -3/+41The Daily Show isn't funny? Just read these gems from his show and tell me Jon Stewart's lame. They've stuck with me for years, and I still chuckle when I think of them.
"Yes, the long war on Christianity. I pray that one day we may live in an America where Christians can worship freely! In broad daylight! Openly wearing the symbols of their religion.... perhaps around their necks? And maybe--dare I dream it?--maybe one day there can be an openly Christian President. Or, perhaps, 43 of them. Consecutively."
(to Bill O'Reilly, in response to claims of waging a war on Christmas) "I'm your enemy. Make me your enemy. I, Jon Stewart, hate Christmas, Christians, Jews, morality! And I will not rest until every year families gather to spend December 25th together at Osama's homobortion pot-n-commie jizzporium."

Tiny Fey can suck it (although she'd probably be offended by that remark). - Archer007, on 03/25/2008, -37/+73Colbert > All
- AAK15, on 03/25/2008, -3/+39Indisputably so
- GvnMcCld, on 03/25/2008, -4/+40Definitely don't stop drinking and posting!
- xTRUMANx, on 03/25/2008, -16/+50"...coined the term clapter, which is when you do a political joke and people go, “Woo-hoo.” It means they sort of approve but didn’t really like it that much. You hear a lot of that on [whispers] The Daily Show.”"
That's it? Come on people, I love the daily show as much as the next guy but every live comedy show has 'clapter'. Stop blowing ***** out of proportion and chill. - tortfeasor, on 03/25/2008, -4/+37Will you adopt me and bring me up as your own?
- amanilaenvelope, on 03/25/2008, -1/+33conan o'brien is an example of that
- zephyear, on 03/25/2008, -3/+33tina with this and your whole clinton thing
tina
why you gotta hurt me baby
why you gotta hurt me - taxman, on 03/25/2008, -7/+35The bitch is done.
Jon Stewart made the Oscars watchable. - mopho, on 03/25/2008, -3/+31looking
- AzureRise, on 03/25/2008, -0/+26Guess I'm never watching the Simpsons again. South Park, ftw!
- page2, on 03/25/2008, -0/+26Laugh track = fake laughter
Forced laugh = fake laughter
"Clapter" != fake laughter
The headline is complete rabble-rousing BS. - Fanboy1, on 03/25/2008, -10/+34At least she didn't call out Craig Kilborn's Daily Show.
- cecinestpasvrai, on 03/25/2008, -0/+24South Park and the Daily Show both get some of the most solid audiences in the coveted male 18-34 demographic. Say what you want about comparative audience size, but at this point SNL's audience is getting older and older, and the Daily Show gets premium advertising money. By the way, performing well on NBC isn't saying much these days.
- amanilaenvelope, on 03/25/2008, -2/+26this was a ok article until it made a big ass left turn and started talking about hanna montana
- Sairynn, on 03/25/2008, -1/+24Except I get the feeling this one won't be nearly as funny...
- SpectreFire, on 03/25/2008, -12/+33You DO realize that she was just joking right? It's what people in comedy do.
I bet you thought that Conan/Colbert/Stewart bit was real. - TheR3dMenace, on 03/25/2008, -2/+23I think her comments were taken out of context. Her interview seemed to have a comedic tone to it, her quote sounded more like good natured ribbing then this feud everybody is trying to make it out to be.
- macguy815, on 03/25/2008, -2/+22I'd do him
- jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -5/+25Hey don't be hating on Conan. He may not have the best writers, but he owned late night when nobody had writers.
- ImprovingLemon, on 03/25/2008, -6/+25http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3212/2358234690_e9c ...
- amanilaenvelope, on 03/25/2008, -0/+17what what no i dont hate Conan pshh hes my favorite comedian im just saying that he has moments where everything is well awkwardly quiet and then everything turns into a riot of a laugh BTW he does have good writers because no one else could come up with the masturbating bear or quackers the ***** eating duck
i hope to see him in new york before he comes here to california GERMAN DISCO LIGHTSHOW FTW - OldJesser, on 03/25/2008, -0/+17A Pimp Named Slickback would disagree with you there.
"I don't think 'Homies over Hoes' is a sentiment A Pimp Named Slickback can co-sign on. I mean, don't me get wrong A Pimp Named Slickback will put a lot of things over a ho, Money over a ho? Always. Brand new gators over a ho? Absolutely. A turkey sandwich wit just tomato? Guaranteed. But homies? Oh no. A Pimp Named Slickback DON'T DO SH*T for the homies, Let me reiliterate. DON'T DO ***** for the homies! Unless the homie wanna walk that stroll and get that money, the homie ain't getting a goddamn thing and the same goes for brothas, peeps, dudes, fellas, dunnies, comrades, whatever the ***** ***** is callin each other nowadays. Sounds like some gay ***** to me." - inactive, on 03/25/2008, -1/+17Obviously you don't want the Daily Show because there are plenty of moments when jokes don't fly and the audience doesn't laugh and John Stewart just makes his usually funny faces and mutters some comments about how the joke sounded funnier in the writer's room.
- Flappy3, on 03/25/2008, -3/+19Does John Stewart look as good while picking up a typewriter?
