Clay actually goes back to Season One when his driver Day-Day was pulled over after receiving $20,000 from the Barksdale crew. After the money was confiscated, Burrell made Daniels return the money to Clay because of Clay’s political connections. So I have to disagree regarding Clay Davis, his story line is very important and it also exposes other corrupt politician that’s higher on the food chain.
Also, one correction, Omar was not staking out Marlo’s apartment, it was his lieutenant Monk who Marlo and Chris were using as bait to draw out Omar. No one knows where Marlo rest his head except for Chris and possibly Snoop.
