- eastwood24, on 11/10/2009, -3/+73Oh My God! Robert Gibbs is one of the Lizard people! How else can you explain his reaction? With logic and common sense? Hardly. He knows exactly what this show is about and he is lying through his reptilian beak.
Let it be said, that you were warned. - acroyear2, on 11/10/2009, -1/+57" it is somewhat curious that the White House is unaware of the controversy surrounding the show. "
Seriously? Some nerd thinks that WH should be aware of controversy surrounding some scifi crap on ABC? The same station that brought us Full House? Really? - stephcv, on 11/10/2009, -4/+53Dugg for Asylum having a White House correspondent.
- endigger2, on 11/10/2009, -1/+46"Tommy Christopher is Asylum's White House correspondent." Is this a joke? Asylum has a WH correspondent? WTF.
At least he's asking the questions those Washington insiders are too scared to ask. - Laminarcissus, on 11/10/2009, -7/+43This guy is taking up a seat in the White House press room and this is how he chooses to use it?
- sbcea, on 11/10/2009, -5/+31Dugg for Robert Gibbs being a fan of SpongeBob!
- sugarazor, on 11/10/2009, -0/+20I think there's got to be somewhere in between "ask him for talking points" and "ask him about the Sci-Fi show on ABC" where legitimate journalism can thrive.
- quirkopatra, on 11/10/2009, -2/+19How's it an indictment of anything NOW when it's a REMAKE?
- SoldOutMatinee, on 11/10/2009, -0/+15yeah, he'll be back. you don't just kill off Alan Tudyk. *wishes Joss Whedon knew this*
- m0rn1n6s74r, on 11/10/2009, -1/+14And if you knew anything the show is a remake of a show from the 80s way before Obama was even in politics... idiot
- buzaman, on 11/10/2009, -0/+13He admitted to the chip in his head, what more proof do you need!
- Propethic, on 11/10/2009, -4/+16The only people calling Obama an "amazing wonderful savior who is perfect in every way" are people like you.
- ObeseSnake, on 11/10/2009, -5/+16Yes, it's called freedom of the press.
- sugarazor, on 11/10/2009, -2/+12NERD ALERT!
- djm19, on 11/10/2009, -0/+9But the point is that its not about obama. Its a remake of a previous version from the 80s. This new version was started during the bush administration. Its just a show that only crazies inject present day meaning. After all, who are the ones who call obama messiah? Teabaggers. Who thinks he's an illegal alien? Birthers.
- digitalArtform, on 11/10/2009, -0/+9They cut the video before the part where the press secretary launched his reptile tongue into the audience and pulled the reporter right into his gullet with one quick snap.
- yosafbridge, on 11/10/2009, -0/+8No body, no death gorramit!
I never saw the body, in the coffin, being put into the ground and therefore Wash is alive and well and living his life with Tara McClay and Elvis. - Hetman, on 11/10/2009, -4/+12WH response. The acting is sub par and the plot has been over used to many times.
- JoeParanoid, on 11/10/2009, -1/+9We can't get a WH response on the plodding health care bill as it gets hacked to death in the House and Senate. Who cares what they're watching on TV?
- HyperJack, on 11/10/2009, -2/+10Well it's nothing to do with V for Vendetta I can tell you that much.
- Bartboy919, on 11/10/2009, -3/+10Im watching this show right now, and looks ***** cornball as *****.
*facepalm* - MarcusLBrutus, on 11/10/2009, -1/+8The pilot episode was a chore to watch.
The public's reaction to the V's arrival started out far-fetched (to put it mildly) and when they all applauded it became embarrassing and stayed there for the rest of the episode. The dig at universal health care was pretty blatant, but far from the show's biggest problem (hint: begins with an "act" ends with an "ing"). They tossed in a line about unnecessary wars as a distraction but by then the show's political slant was fully exposed to anyone paying any attention whatsoever, and I consider myself somewhere in the middle.
Dear producers, please keep your politics out of my mind-numbing entertainment. - fatherdoom, on 11/10/2009, -0/+7Take my love, take my land......
- OggerTis, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6Do you own a motorboat? and if you do, can you send us pictures of the motorboat?
- k3rfuffl3, on 11/10/2009, -2/+8Buried for being ***** stupid. 'V' was a miniseries from before the 80's and in they pilot they talked about the aliens starting "unnecessary wars" and "economic meltdowns" before they announced their presence on earth. Pretty obvious they're talking about the 8 years before Obama.
It's an apolitical show that just uses recent events to show how the aliens infiltrated the world governments for its plot. The author is a ***** idiot. - Moralogic, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6That was damn funny. I have to give these guys some points for having fun at work, sometimes it is the hardest thing to do.
- hmmdar, on 11/10/2009, -1/+7I agree they revealed the fact they were out to kill us way to soon. If they would of waited until mid season for that it would of been great. Having plot lines that hint in that direction would of been much better than spilling all the beans in the first episode.
- limabone, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6This show is more like an ink blot than a Glenn Beck dream. You see what you see and it says more about you than it does about the show.
- bjs3171, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6he did know. he didn't "just" kill him off. he put a giant ***** spike through his torso.
- thirdeyeopen, on 11/10/2009, -3/+8This show is garbage.
For the first half I was enjoying it. I was expecting a mystery, are the aliens our friends? Do we trust them? I was hoping for a debate between the viewers, fun theories on what the aliens were here for, even if people have seen the original I think they could have pulled off a 'what if this version is different' angle. But no, half way in they reveal the whole mystery and controversy in one cheesy action sequence then begin banging you in the head with the 'aliens are bad' hammer.
And I was told this was a 'smart' show. Sigh. Interest lost. - kosa, on 11/10/2009, -1/+6wow, this is the most important question I have ever seen asked.....mind boggling
- fiatjustitia, on 11/10/2009, -3/+8The truth hurts.
- acroyear2, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5i seriously doubt it worked it's way up all the way to obama after one dumb episode.
- Vermifax, on 11/10/2009, -1/+6Good point, but...
The remake's screenplay has been tweaked from the original to "fit the times'. I'm sure the original screenplay didn't have cell phones, texting, internet or YouTube.
So, if you allow the notion that the remake is NOT an exact carbon copy of the original then, you can allow for the fact that the new screenwriters could be masking propaganda as "modern sociopolitical commentary through fiction". - DaDrake, on 11/10/2009, -1/+6Honestly, people read too deeply into some of these plots. This is like when the last Star Wars movie was supposedly an allegory to Bush's Iraq war. The simple fact is, it is entertainment. Anyone is going to be able to infer political motives if they tv-show/movie deals with some large government theme. And honestly, it wouldn't surprise me that the creators of V purposefully used the term "universal healthcare" to create emotion; Great fiction is created by being believable... and you do that by using themes that hit close to home.
- bjs3171, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5it doesn't appear to be that at all. it's a comment on social behavior in general. relax.
- sugarazor, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5"I'm pretty sure he's not a lizard man either."
That's because you're a fascist boot licker! The MSM and their paid disinfo agents have sold out this country to keep the truth from getting out. The official story doesn't add up and that's why no one can find Obama's birth certificate, because he was actually born on the planet of our reptilian overlords! "V" is just asking questions, and if you did your own research like I do, you'd be able to open your eyes and see what's really going on! - dnields, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4BINGO!
I have no idea why you're getting dugg down.
The "mystery" was revealed 25 years ago when the original miniseries aired. - Laminarcissus, on 11/10/2009, -1/+5Sorry, I really don't mean to be an overly-serious douche on a puff piece, but there are 300 million Americans and 48 seats in the White House briefing room. I just feel like each one should be used to its advantage whenever that advantage is presented.
And yes, that include the major networks, who are also falling down on the job. - Nirgaul, on 11/10/2009, -4/+8I don't recall 'Hope' and 'Change' being used in the show. Their comparisons are all stupid. If there's any satire involved, its that it took an alien race to introduce a universal health care package.
Read some of the comments on Asylum by the mobile home park Republican sect. Fat housewives and proud gun owners, unite. - Spartan225, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4His character on V got stabbed in the chest by a spike or something to that affect. His character on FireFly got stabbed in the chest by a spike. Coincidence? I think the writers of V were just having a little fun. They could have easily just made her shoot him.
- alarion, on 11/10/2009, -2/+6Umm yeah, with Bush we waited until after a year or two before we tried to tear him apart. You know, until we actually saw what he was going to do. Conservatives waited like one day, if that.
- mattsouth, on 11/10/2009, -1/+5Dugg for Gibbs having a sense of humor about that.
- censormagnet, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4WH response: this documentary is full of flaws! we only eat human CHILDREN! not adults. geez...
- enclaved, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4The truth is you are an ironic ***** retarded dip *****.

http://digg.com/users/geoffg/history/search?needle ...
The vitriolic nonsense you constantly spew against those who have different opinions then you is the textbook definition of bigotry and for some reason your dumb ***** ass thinks that calling everyone a bigot every 6th word makes when you do it ok.
"A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices. The correct use of the term requires the elements of obstinacy, irrationality, and animosity toward those of differing devotion."
You are a pathetic waste of human flesh whichever side of the isle you are on. I hope you rot in hell you ass ***** *****.
Expand your ***** vocabulary you ass munching *****. - DarkprinceArmon, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4V is about an alien invasion. period. To use current events to pump blood into a remake is just poor writing. But then again, when has "an alien race taking over the world" ever entailed good writing to begin with.
- dse78759, on 11/10/2009, -1/+5Bring back firefly.
I bet Obama watched that.... - pathouston22, on 11/10/2009, -3/+6What would you rather him do...be like the main networks and ask for what talking points they should use on their show for the day?
- swicken, on 11/10/2009, -3/+6They're trying to paint Obama as the savior (the aliens bring healthcare) and that they believe he's actually trying to destroy the world (like the reptile aliens). The aliens come with promises to help mankind find peace and happiness in order to subvert them and take over.
Realistically, the plot is the same used many times before, and the aliens actually made the world worse for the purpose of being saviors (which they fail to acknowledge in comparisons) and have plans to literally kill off mankind. I'm pretty sure Obama doesn't want to kill off mankind, and I'm pretty sure he's not a lizard man either. - vulcanius, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3Wash was the perfect character to kill off though, you couldn't not like him. I admit, I teared up.
