But even though I don't pay a monthly fee, I do support it by watching it. I subscribe though iTunes and I also use their rss though MCE RSS Reader. So in a way I am doubling their numbers to give to their advertisers. Please do not tell me that just because I don't fork over extra cash that I am not just as much of a supporter.

Seems like even though Kevin gets girls all the time, I don't think he's ever gotten over her. Their breakup was very bad (you could feel the tension on TSS), and I really felt bad for the both of them, until I visited Sarah's website and saw that she married the other guy. Seems like she didn't waste a lot of time.

    You may ask - "why should it be free?!!?", well, because rev3 is a BUISNESS, they have had Microsoft as a sponsor on Diggnation, Godaddy, etc..

    If kevin rose asked you to pay to use parts of Digg, would you acctully agree? Acctully, silly question..

    Just dont feel the need to pay somebody, when they are making money out of me already!

    • MiloMindrbindr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12I think he's saying that since viewership numbers are the reason they get sponsorships and endorsements from those companies (and part of the reason they were able to close $8million in VC funding), to keep watching the shows is doing our part. Basically Rev3 is double dipping. We watch the shows, which gives them the numbers to get advertisers and then they ask the users to pay for the privilege of seeing the shows when they're (first) released. TV networks use the same business model: the audience is who the advertisers want to reach, so they pay to place their ads in the shows that millions of people will be watching. Now imagine if you had to pay to watch those shows on the night they aired, you wouldn't be very happy.

  • mshanly, on 10/10/2007, -10/+9The reason Revision3 don't like sites like Mirrornation is simple, Revision3 makes money from its sponsors by saying how many people have downloaded episodes off the Revision3 website. Mirrornation doesn't tell Revision3 how many people have downloaded Revision3 shows off them early, this means Revision3 aren't making as much money as they should be getting from sponsors, in fact they are losing money. Just because it is a television network doesn't mean they're all evil corporate beings, they're all geeks like us.

That being said they should have every media file on the site available in the same way pay or free. TWIT is set up the same donations and sponsors. But you don't see Leo making you donate to get some of the TWIT content. This is starting to make me feel that soon TWIT will be the nice site with nice people and a real caring attitude and Rev3 are the shady guys you don't always trust. Like the beer for Digg Nation fund. If by some lucky chance Keven or one of his close co-workers read this. I want him to know how I feel and that many others who haven't commented must feel the same.
