Yes I know SNL isn't a word. - lydiasky, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Wow, so old.
- UselessTrivia, on 07/14/2009, -1/+2There are different categories now. There's a separate record for "5 day opening", "4 day opening" and "3 day opening"
The latest you can open to qualify for "3 day opening" is midnight on thursday.
And despite the opening day, films are often still reported with their "3 day" opening total to compare against other films. It's very unusual for more than one film to open earlier than Friday in the same week, mostly because the kinds of movies that open early know better than to go head-to-head with each other. - Alchemist11, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Great! Just perfect!
- bemidia, on 07/14/2009, -1/+1As much as I love the Daily Show, the funniest thing about that page was the captcha at the bottom that read: "stripper NOW".

- suprememilo, on 07/14/2009, -1/+1I just watched the first three Harry Potter movies on DVD.... I will save this link for later.
- jsnchmpn, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0...and that sucks too, because of the Canadian reference in the fourth video.
- darkuk, on 07/14/2009, -1/+1I like the bits with the magic
- MScrip, on 07/14/2009, -1/+1So... movies premiere on Wednesday?
Does that boost the "opening weekend" box office receipts? - perrycarter, on 07/14/2009, -1/+1I miss Steve Carrell on the Daily Show. He was the best.
- SirBruce, on 07/14/2009, -3/+1Yes, it does, though technically it's just after midnight, on Thursday. Many movies do this in recent years in order to "cheat" the box office numbers. Mind you it doesn't matter, because unless you use inflation adjusted numbers, weekend box office almost always goes up over time regardless of film popularity.
- cscofield, on 07/14/2009, -2/+0Socially retarded?!!! Them's fightin' words, you Death Eater!
