- dsmx, on 09/03/2008, -5/+87It embiggens me to see cromulent words like frak used in real life.
- DCJoeDogaswell, on 09/03/2008, -2/+65SMEG!!!
- CourtesyFlush, on 09/03/2008, -1/+56I think a lot of the credit should go to Yosemite Sam.
I'm been saying "frickin' frackin'' for decades....long before the original BSG ever aired.

- hasslinthehoff, on 09/03/2008, -4/+58What about saying "Smurf?"
- chrisOrbit, on 09/03/2008, -1/+53I still like Goram better. I miss Firefly.
- BritishGolgo13, on 09/03/2008, -3/+55FRAK IT! WE'LL DO IT LIVE!
- NesloTterrag, on 09/03/2008, -3/+44I'll stick with goram. Thou...yes I use frak all the time.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -3/+39I love the meaningless captions they feel that they HAVE to put up with pictures... as if they seriously can't think of anything to say..
"Jamie Bamber gets plenty of chances to say "frak" in "Battlestar Galactica.""
ORLY?
Sounds like some lazy college kid writing a thesis. "I think milk is pretty good for you, and I will show you why." - jsd8cc, on 09/03/2008, -0/+34Maybe 100 years from now, "frak" will cross over from the vernacular and become number #8 on the list of words you can't say on television.
- Nesh, on 09/03/2008, -0/+34"Yeah, I went on a date with Smurfette last night."
"Oh, how did that smurf?"
"She Smurfed me."
"No Smurfin way."
"Oh yeah, right in the smurfin parking lot."
"NO SMURFIN WAY! That's smurfing awesome!"
"Yeah..i know. I'm The Smurf" - hauntedchippy, on 09/03/2008, -0/+32Along with Meecrob
- barc0de, on 09/03/2008, -3/+34Yup - I was thinking that the Firefly/Serenity solution to the problem was somewhat overlooked in the article. Goram fraking idiots.
- Chebsi, on 09/03/2008, -5/+34But it's so overused...
- mooseofshadows, on 09/03/2008, -1/+30Shiny.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -5/+31Such a brilliant show, even better (imho) and even more unsung than Firefly.
- Jektal, on 09/03/2008, -0/+24I can see why, f$ is pretty ***** hard to pronounce!
- rufus2, on 09/03/2008, -2/+26RTFA. It was in the original series in the 70s.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -1/+24I always liked where "frell" came from better.
- Terwa, on 09/03/2008, -24/+45Eh, "*****" is easier to say.
- Jektal, on 09/03/2008, -2/+23Hey, smurf you! My smurf was smurfed by a smurf!
- JasonCox, on 09/03/2008, -2/+22So say we all.
(and go frak yourself) - protodon, on 09/03/2008, -1/+19Me too. I also caught myself using "Ahn" as in "half an Ahn(hour)" in everyday speech. It's just easier to say...and I'm pathetic.
- wedges, on 09/03/2008, -1/+19what in the gorram heck are ya'll talkin bout?
- greendalek, on 09/03/2008, -0/+17Man, that word is just so... fhqwhgads.
- lintmonkey, on 09/03/2008, -5/+21Frak you! Two of my friends died using real words!
- Pooley, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16Substituting a real curse word for a made up one so as to be able to say it at will is not original at all. There are numerous other examples, e.g.:
'Smeg' from Red Dwarf
'Feck!' from Father Ted
'Drokk!' from Judge Dredd
Personally I love 'feck' and use it myself all the time, even when I could curse for real if I wanted to. - azhura, on 09/03/2008, -0/+15Stupid Fox.
- adent1066, on 09/03/2008, -1/+16RED DWARF !!!!
- evilcaptain, on 09/03/2008, -2/+17Really smegging original :)
- MDawg957, on 09/03/2008, -1/+15I'm amazed no one posted this sooner

- ByteGuerilla, on 09/03/2008, -1/+13This ain't the go tsao de rendezvous point.
- iheartcrack, on 09/03/2008, -3/+15Don't forget, "Gods damn!" -- said with a quasi-Scottish brogue.
- DamnLogins, on 09/03/2008, -1/+13"Oh Belgium man! Belgium! Belgium! Belgium! Help me you zarking zark! Holy Zarquon's singing fish!"
- hartley, on 09/03/2008, -0/+12Dr Seuss invented the word "Nerd".
- Skywise, on 09/03/2008, -1/+12And you still had to love that steamy love scene just before they were attacked.
"Oh frell!."
"Yeaah...Frellll"
"No... no... BAD FRELL!" - RudeTurnip, on 09/03/2008, -0/+10The use of the word "Smurf" actually points out the silliness of cursing too much...it makes you look like an ignoramus who can't think of something clever or thoughtful to say. On the other hand, there is no legitimate reason to censor anything people say.
- TheProfessor87, on 09/03/2008, -0/+10Britain IS fictional. I know because I live there.
- levitron, on 09/03/2008, -0/+10We used to do similar things in grade school, like "Son of a perch!" The teachers hated it (went to a Christian school), but what could they do? We felt so clever.
- ozziek, on 09/03/2008, -5/+15The word of God ;)
(I'm frakkin kidding before you all digg me down!) - smotpoker, on 09/03/2008, -1/+11I like "dren" better than "frell". It just sounds better IMO, even if it isn't as foul or versatile.
- Diggnabbit, on 09/03/2008, -0/+9You're getting dug down because "blast" and "slag" aren't sci-fi words. They're British.
- camintmier, on 09/03/2008, -3/+12Frakin' words...
